Help with my DB/WP/Blaze Build?
Quote:
I think it looks mostly good, except...
But anyways, now that you got all this information... how does this build look?
|
1) Damage looks a little underwhelming. Four Kinetic Combats do great things for S/L defense, but leave a lot to be desired in the accuracy and damage departments.
2) It's a personal pet peeve of mine, but I absolutely LOATHE wasting slots to make "set mules" out of things like Boxing and Brawl. (It's not like you're going to USE those powers, especially with Dual Blades, right? "Need moar redraw animation!" No, not really! ) I always think that those slots could be used to much better effect elsewhere 90% of the time.
3) I'm not sure if you deliberately stayed away from the new ATO enhancements (or just forgot about them 'cause they're newish), but if you're spending that much INF on the build as it is, what's another hundred million or two? If you split up the set and then catalyze them, that's 10% S/L defense right there!
I pretty much threw this build together in about five minutes -- you'll probably want to pay more attention to which ATO's and Eradications actually go where -- but it's ALMOST softcapped to S/L defense, has better energy/negative defense, does more damage, has more hit points and a little bit more regen. You could easily make the S/L softcap with the Agility alpha slot, or with enhancement boosters, or...or...there's probably another way with a little reshuffling, but it's so late tonight that it's becoming "early." Hopefully this will give you another perspective on your build!

Thank you so much for your help!
I think with that build, you will want to go Nerve Alpha. You'll desperately need the added accuracy. Especially if you ever run at above even con diff, or if you plan to try to use the combos ever, or if you hope to do incarnate content.
I didn't look at Eldorado's build, but I'd agree with all of his suggestions and points, though.
Edit: Well, except for the set mule thing bothers me a bit less then it does him. However, I think I wouldn't push it as far as you have by using Boxing AND Brawl. Now you're talking 6 slots used up on powers you will never use. That's getting a bit excessive.
No problem -- hopefully that help does help!
Even though he's got a Kismet +6% accuracy?
I like to run at higher difficulties, and I've therefore become a big fan of Body Mastery and Focused Accuracy on my scrappers, with a Gaussian's set for the defense bonuses, and a Perf Shifter proc in Physical Perfection to ensure that I've got enough endurance to leave FA running all the time. Unfortunately, that's not going to work for MindfulFool's fire concept and Blaze Mastery. *shrug*
My DB/WP/Body build, in case anybody can find something useful therein:

Yeah, a couple slots here or there is one thing -- six slots IS a bit excessive in my book, too. The great thing about this game is that there's a LOT of ways to build a really good mousetrap, and it just seems to me that there's often a way to avoid wasting those slots and still achieving the same goals.

Totally agree on Body Mastery for FA (which also provides tohit debuff protection or top of the other good stuff), on the Gaussians, on Phys Per, and the extra Perf Shifter Proc. But, I can see wanting to do a different concept, too, so.
And I totally agree about there being a lot of differnt avenues you can go down and end up with a great build. But regardless, I think he's gonna want to do something to get that extra Accuracy. Maybe change some sets to a few more IO sets that also provide Acc bonuses would work, if you don't want to exemplar much. Or Nerve, but that also has the problem with exemplaring. Maybe those extra slots from the on set mule can be added into some of those attacks. For the PBAOE attacks a Acc/End from Multi-Stike or the Acc/Recharge from Cleaving Blow might be nice. Or a Nuc Hami-O. Nuc Hamis would also be my choice for the melee sets with Kin Combats in them.
Well, as has been said, lots of ways you can go with it.
Okay, here is something I've been working on. Well, not me. A friend helped start me out on a path with this build. Thanks dude!
While I don't need to be the best build, I want a decent build. I love the idea of fire melee but I'm not a fan of the animation. So! I made a dual blades person with the new fire swords.
My idea is a fire guy. I chose WP cause it's simple and I'm not a fan of radiating flames. My guy simple can create fire weapons and throw flames, thus the blaze mastery.
For my incarnate abilities, I'm taking Pyronic Judgement (Clearly) and Reactive Radial because I want my fire swords to actually set people on fire. But anyways, now that you got all this information... how does this build look?
