Arachnos’ presence in Faultline - what exactly are they looking for there and do they ever find it?

MM: You’ll have to ask War Witch to see if she remembers.
Unless they're looking for something else, this is answered in the Faultline arcs, particularly Agent G's arc.

    (Spoilers follow.)

They're looking for the PsychoChronoMetron, a device that can rewrite history which played a major role, and was lost, in the destruction of Overbrook. Ultimately, they do find it, but player heroes take it from them before they can get back to Recluse with it, and then have it destroyed.

    1 last time...

I never got to do that before, so thanks to everyone who helped put it together, and came out to make it work. I had a great time
  3. It occurs to me I'll need screenshots of key locations. Some of the places are obvious (Atlas globe), others occur to me every time I think about it (Vanguard compound).

    Here's an incomplete list:

    • City Hall, Atlas statue
    • Freedom Corps HQ, Galaxy Girl statue
    • The theater in Perez Park
    • Paragon Police HQ, Paragon Penny
    • That doughnut store, the dam
    • Talos statue, Last Line of Defense hill
    • Valor Bridge
    • Terra Volta reactor
    • The Zig
    • Portal Corps
    • Hamidon's bowl

    • Fort Darwin, Mercy
    • Fort Hades, that building where the SG registrar is
    • Aeon City
    • Hell Forge
    • Somewhere up in northern Nerva
    • Golden Giza
    • Recluse statue, Arachnos tower

    • Pocket D main floor
    • Vanguard base, mothership
    • Midnight Club
    • Cimerora fountain
    • Mot

    • An Architect building

    • The Magisterium, Cole Tower
    • BAF, TPN
    • Neutropolis center, Lambda Sector, Keyes Island
    • Survivor compound, Westerman Tower, Mother of Mercy Hospital
    • Midnight Mansion, the "train station"

I'm sure there are plenty of others, particularly red/goldside. Suggestions?

Were they implemented on the wrong monsters? The lusca is a "real" cryptid, described on Wikipedia as a giant octopus, so either name would work for the creature in IP. (And personally, I think of the kraken as more squidoid...)
  5. Recruiting was slow this week, between the impending doom and holiday weekend. Still, it was a valiant effort.

I'm going to host again next week; I'll get a post up soonish.
  6. 1390 here; joined too late to get Celebrant, Reveler, Pursuer, Merrymaker, and 6-8 Year Veteran. I should have 5 Year Veteran but don't. And then there's Bug Hunter and Passport.

I was thinking of trying to start badging all over again, but the thought of doing some of them again (Partner, all the RV stuff, grinding Rep) made me hesitant, and this announcement makes it officially dead.

I'm going to focus on getting TRHW this week, but I'm not going to rule out going for Triple Threat afterward; it depends on how many people would be willing to stick around for it. And I'm certainly willing to try for Triple Threat some later date.

And GW2 (and GW1, for that matter) is buy the game, play for free. My first guess is credit toward the GW2 gem store and/or other games' microtransaction systems.
  9. Just so there's no doubt: Regardless of today's announcement, I'm still planning to do this Sunday.

    Farewell

Thank you to all the friends I made playing this game over the last 5+ years. Without y'all, I probably would have long ago moved on to something else.

Hope to see y'all around Paragon for whatever time is left.

    Citadel/Infernal
    Positron/Val
    Num/Swan
    Lum/Penelope

    Thoughts?
When I lead, those are the four I go for. I've also seen BAB/Mynx instead of Citadel/Infernal.
  13. I've got things sorted out so I can do this again this week. We'll be focusing on The Really Hard Way. We should also get Shadow Master and The Hard Way (even if The Really Hard Way doesn't work out); Ready to Rumble is certainly possible, but I won't be actively trying for it on either of the first two runs. The first run won't use Ultimates, so we can practice dodging lightning, then we'll go for the badge on the second try. Time and interest permitting, I could do a third run to try to get either Triple Threat or Ready to Rumble.

I'm making a few changes to strategy from last time, basically focused on getting it done before fatigue starts to set in.

If you'd like me to save you a spot, post below or let me know in-game.

    Requirements
    • +3 level shift.
    • Hybrid unlocked and slotted.
    • Completed the Magisterium trial.
    • At least 6 Ultimates. There may be some available at the event, but please try to bring your own. You can get them from:
      • Astral Christy in Ouroboros for 2 Astral Merits each.
      • Wentworth's. I haven't checked prices lately but last time I did they were running between 7 and 10 million.

    Other considerations
    • If your badge character needs it, by all means, bring them.
    • General Incarnate suggestions:
      • Judgement: Try to avoid Vorpal (he resists smashing).
      • Interface: One with a damage proc. Reactive and Degenerative have nice other effects, but don't overdo them as they can only stack a few times.
      • Lore: High single-target DPS (List at ParagonWiki for comparison) and/or exotic damage. Note that Cimerorans are getting brought into line (i.e., nerfed) in i24, so be careful if you choose to make them.
      • Destiny: Barrier or Rebirth.
      • Hybrid: Assault (Radial) or Support.
      • If you can't change to one of these, anything's better than nothing. Also, don't change from an ability with a level shift to one without.
    • Overall, the main concern is being able to do steady damage to Tyrant. Stacking Barrier and Rebirth destinies should be enough to keep the league alive.
    • The best things to bring are damage, AoE damage and tohit buffs, and defense and resistance debuffs for Tyrant.
    • Corruptors are good, between the buff/debuffs and Scourge.
    • Leadership powers, particularly Assault and Tactics, are useful.
    • For filling the non-Ultimate slots in your tray: reds (although we'll hopefully be pushing the damage cap without them), greens, or team yellows (or red/yellows).

This will be Sunday, September 2. I'll start forming in Pocket D at 3:00 PM EDT and launch when we fill. I'll hold reserved spots until 3:30 EDT.

    The important bits of strategy:

    1. For what to bring, see the first post.
    2. Keep Ultimates up at all times during the Tyrant fight.
    3. Everybody gets into melee range. Stacking Barriers should protect the league from Tyrant's resistible attacks.
    4. When the air crackle warning appears, everybody backs away from Tyrant. When the lightning spawns, everyone gets back into melee.
    5. When Tyrant hits 30% or so or the league's damage isn't outpacing Tyrant's regen (one or the other, don't wait for both), summon Lores, hit Hybrids, and (in general) use anything that's being held in reserve.
    6. If it becomes obvious you're not going to win without taking out the lights, it's better to finish the trial and get The Hard Way (which should be assured at that point).

If you (or anyone else) does do this this weekend, I'll try to make it, but no promises.

    Edit:

I can't help but think that if we did this we might have succeeded since our Achilles heel seemed to be losing focus after dropping Lore.

Honestly it doesn't make a lot of sense pragmatically, but you can't really argue with the results.
I thought about that while I was writing the strategy notes. You're right, we were winning but never got the swing back once we stopped to summon Lores. And if it doesn't work, but the league can stay in the fight till the five-minute mark, they can summon Lores for one last push, with plenty of time left to give up on RHW and finish the trial if it doesn't work any better the second time.

    It's definitely something to consider.

At this point, I'm still not sure if I can do this this Sunday, so I'm going to go ahead and cancel. I'll almost certainly try again the next Sunday, and get a thread up early next week.

For a general overview: Paragon Wiki. Each power name links you to a page with a list of pets summoned by that power and their powers. (The categories coming in Issue 24 haven't been fully added yet.)

Actually, I often had trouble seeing the lightning once the pets came out. I'd be standing in what looked like a clear spot and whoops I'm dead.
  19. We should have had that. We got him down to about 27% without Lores, but couldn't keep up the damage after we summoned them.

Still, that was a good league and I know we can get it.

I can't say one way or the other about elec/elec (haven't looked much into it), but on my mind/psi both would add more or less the same damage. Radial got the advantage because it doesn't need to build up and doesn't have problems with the damage cap.
