Thanks,
Sorry, what's a "lombard room", in the UK LOMBARD is an acronym when talking disparagingly about somebody for "Loads of money but a real d..."

And FPARN.

Lombard Street is a famous street in San Francisco. The room is probably named after it.

It's "the world's crookedest street."

Awesome. Opening it up to anyone 13 and older is a great deal as well. I even have a double reason for being in that area at that time too. Might just make me a little side trip!

Initial reactions: The price is right (edit add: for locals). The costume code is great. And I hope your are prepared for a big crowd (even though some of us do not Facebook). Hate to see people turned away (or sitting on the floor like the very first Bay Area M&G). Are you sure you don't need a better registration process? Oh well, not my call. Looking forward to it.

Sadly, despite relatively low plane ticket costs, the short event time and high cost of the hotels within walking distance makes this hard to justify for my girlfriend and I.

It's too bad, because we considered HeroCon to be an important anniversary.

On the bright side, I guess since it's not really HeroCon, we're not really skipping it. Have fun, those that are going, we'll be with you in spirit!

SF is hardly Northern CA No where near the state of Jefferson. And here I had my hopes up.

Oooh! Nice to see that there still will be a Meet and Greet in the Bay Area, even if it isn't Hero-Con. The costume code is also quite awesome, although I personally would have preferred the Rikti. I'll definitely do what I can to make it to this one.

Wish we could have gotten a little more notice on this. I'll have to crunch some numbers, but I'm not sure it's worth it to fly out just for a M&G. The first M&G was awesome because there was a fabulous bit afterward where we could just chat with the devs, but I'd wager something that informal would be shut down now. Not sure it's worth the expense to fly out from here in beautiful Austin, Texas.

Of course, I also wish we could have gotten a Hero Con, but that's a dead horse.

The numbers that I've crunched so far after looking at flight prices tells me that I'll be staying in Texas this year. I hadn't even gotten to hotel prices and I can see that it isn't economically feasible for me. Reading Liquid's comments on the hotel prices means I just saved myself a little bit of time by not going that far in the cost calculations.

It saddens me since I made the '07 M&G at D&B, the '08 HeroCon and the '09 HeroCon. The trip to the Bay Area had become the one thing I really looked forward to all year. But, with other recent news, I'm finding fewer reasons to look forward to it and the costs just aren't justified for me.

I hope that all that attend have a fantastic time. Maybe Red Gren can come up with some idea for the Justice people that won't be attending who have been a regular part of the past events.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

So...

Whens the Southern/Gulf M&G?

Being stuck in the heart of Alabama means I'm flat out of luck when it comes to getting to the coasts. This year.

Hope it goes well though.

I had pretty much figured that you probably wouldn't be making it this year. You're going to be missed, TJ. And that goes for Infallible as well.

I'm still in the process of recovering from my recent relocation to the Pacific Northwest and the the maiming the "great recession" did to me. So it's quite difficult to justify the travel expenses with such a short event, especially with the holidays right around the corner. Sadly, Somber and I will very likely be two more no-shows this year.

Well, now I have a different dilemma. I had forgotten about my flight miles. Using those I can fly out for $5. So much for that cost/benefit ratio.

If I can get someone I know to split a room, we could stay at a hotel close to the venue for around $125 each. Not bad for the quality of the rooms and the short walk. Factor in food, drinks, and incidentals and I'm looking at less than $200. Now it's in a much better cost/benefit ratio but I still have other factors to consider. I can still likely get by under $225 if I stay at alone at a hotel that is a longer walk away from the venue.

Several of the regulars I've enjoyed seeing at past events likely won't be there. Liquid has already said he won't so there's two people I'll miss, and I can think of about 5 or so others that likely won't be there. And then there's Chris. Visiting with him was one of the things I always looked forward to, and that won't be possible anymore unless it's at a player organized event such as Red Gren's Justice dinners.

I'm keeping my options open for now until I get a chance to talk to a few people about splitting a room. We'll see how it goes, but I'll have to decide fairly soon in order to use my miles.

WOOT!

<crosses fingers>

I'm looking to share a room as well, offered to a friend but no word back yet.

Edit: Oh, and for those that have attended previous HeroCons, I'd suggest bringing you name badges from the previous events. I saw some people posting that there weren't any at the NYCC. So a heads-up, just in case.

Room already booked, flight taken care of, and all that is left is to finding limousine service but this not very difficult.

I seeing everyone there! I only probably going be a couple hours maybe as there is so much to doing and many friends to visiting in California.

I looking forward to it!

Love,
Mishii <3!
