Our Bay Area player gathering has become a firm tradition over the past few years and we are pleased to announce that this year's gathering is going to be even bigger and better with the City of Heroes Freedom™ Player Summit on Saturday, November 19th, 2011, in Palo Alto, California, a mere stone's throw away from the actual Paragon Studios™ offices!

We will be able to share more details with you over the next few weeks but you can expect to meet and chat with developers and employees of Paragon Studios™, attend panels made especially for the Player Summit, get a few goodies, including an unworldly Costume code, and more!

So save the date and look forward to getting more information soon!

Sadly, one month's notice is not enough time for most people to get off of work, especially with a national holiday within a week of the event. Also with Thanksgiving being that close to the event, you're also dealing with ungodly travel preparation since it's one of the two most traveled holiday months.

And trying to factor in budgeting, especially if airfare is involved, etc. As fun as this sounds, a month is not enough time to budget, plan travel and vacation time accordingly.

I went to the HeroCons, but I had more notice than this. So, unfortunately, I won't be able to attend.

G'luck and have fun, all the same.

I'll be in attendance as well. Looking forward to it!

But, yeah, that lead time hurts because I have to give up a gig to attend.

It's nice that you host these player get-togethers and it's even nice that you offer special costume codes for people who attend them. But as is plainly clear from the people who've posted here so far it's fairly difficult (if not impossible) for most people to get a chance to attend these events.

Now that you have the Paragon Market up and running I would suggest that you think about offering the special costume codes you pass out during these meet-n-greets for sale on the market. The people who actually can attend the events would still get these codes for free, but selling them in market would provide an opportunity for other people to enjoy them as well. Besides it's basically a new source of extra money for you that you would not have otherwise had. It'd be a win-win for everyone.

I'm really surprised they'd only announce it a month in advance, and schedule it for the weekend before Thanksgiving. Really?

I hope I have enough time to schedule someone to take my paper route for me while I'm gone...

AHHHHH this sucks, just barely a months notice isn't enough for everyone I think. I attended both HeroCons and the meet and greet and those gave alot more notice. Not only that but you guys aren't saying if there is even a fee. I hate to say doesn't look like I'll be attending this year, whichs sucks cause I love going to them and meeting new people.

Well to those attending....HAVE FUN!!!!!

I'll be there.

Tentative planning has me flying in just before noon Friday and leaving Sunday evening. I'm going to be renting a car for those of us that get together for outside events, meals, sight-seeing, or what-have-you. I'll be getting in touch with some of the regulars to try to get things arranged. (Hear that Red Gren? You're on the clock for planning the meals aside from Saturday breakfast at Holder's Country Inn.) I'll also see what I find for Hotel rooms and may have a bed available for someone looking to share a room.

I'll have to try to twist Zwallenhorf's arm to get him to join us for the Bacon Waffles on Saturday morning.

It's a bit of a financial stretch for me this year, but since this is really the only thing I do for myself all year I consider it to be worth it.

I look forward to seeing and spending time with the players that are in attendance.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

It makes sense that the big event is in the Bay Area since that's where the Developers are. It's much more difficult for them to try to stop all work so all of the employees can make an event outside of that area. Not to mention the expense.

They have been branching out the past couple of years and attending other events around the country and having M&G's while they are there. IIRC, they've been to PA and NYC for cons and had M&G's there.
