Discussion: The City of Heroes Freedom Player Summit - 11/19/11
For those commenting on the short notice:
I absolutely agree with you.
Ideally, we wanted to announce this months ago, however as you may have noticed with our cancelling our presence at New York Comic Con, our event schedule has been very, very tentative due to the amount of resources needed to successfully and smoothly launch Freedom.
The good news is, the launch has gone well, very well, and I'm able to shift focus and devote much of my time towards planning this event. It's definitely not an ideal timeframe, however we felt it better to do everything we could to make this a special event (and one that we can repeat ). One of my goals since coming here to Paragon has been to revive Hero Con in some form, and I believe that with the FPS, we have such an event, but with a total focus on communication with our Super Fans .

It would really help those of us needing to make travel plans to have a location to book a hotel room in as part of a travel package.
The more notice you can give us on this the better since airline prices will likely be rising more as we get closer to the date.
EDIT: Even a PM would work. Since it's against the forum rules to make public any private correspondence, you know I wouldn't be breaking that rule because I'd have to report my own post.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Wish I could say I was going to attend, but...
- No available funds
- Out on the left coast and not all that accessible to a midwesterner.
I know, I know...
It would be nice to see some Dev/OCR lovin' in the midwest sometime.
Thank you for the time...

That's a lifetime when you are trying to make book flights, hotels, rental cars, plan dinners, etc.
I guess I'll be forced to wait.
That doesn't mean I have to like it.

Me? Serious?
Only on the Tech forums.
The rest of the time there is a healthy dose of sarcasm, snark and general humor to my posts.

Shame there isn't a massive convention suitable for this sort of thing in Atlanta....
Oh wait....
I'll not be there, sorry.
You have arranged for folks to go to Europe previously, but not to the South East US?

If there'd been even a couple months notice, I would likely have gone.
I sure do wish you still did Herocon.

Since the first HeroCon was a one day event, and this is very close to a HeroCon, does that mean it's more than just an evening's worth of fun? As in, something to occupy a good portion of the midday to evening hours on that Saturday?

Good to hear.
Will have to update my Facebook post.
And my post in the Justice forums since that will mean no midday meal get together for Justice players.
This is sounding better and better.

Good for you Redlynne. And you'll be able to hammer them ... er ... discuss the Mac issues with them face to face.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom (or freem?) fighter; just as one man's exploit is another man's feature.
A full day event this time? We'll be there!
Please try my custom mission arcs!
Legacy of a Rogue (ID 459586, Entry for Dr. Aeon's Third Challenge)
Death for Dollars! (ID 1050)
Dr. Duplicate's Dastardly Dare (ID 1218)
Win the Past, Own the Future (ID 1429)
I think I can find a few people willing to join me at that venue.
Or, I could go back to Schaub's for another Fred's Steak sandwich. Hmmmm.
