Kings Row as perpetual rain would be awesome. All the pitched zone revamps were interesting.
King's Row as Street Level Crime and reasons why the Clockwork are doing their thing (along with a badge for actually beating Paladin
IP as Drug War and possibly the Council going after the bridge again. Also Lusca's affiliation with Crey was mentioned.
Shadow Shards reduced to two Zones (FBZ and Storm Palace) made co-op and with a Nemesis and Redside base added.
Striga with an all-out war between Council and the 5th Column with giant robots erupting from a volcano
Boomtown as a refuge for an escaped Pretorian Clock that was left behind after the invasion and has decided to free its robotic brethren (Nikes, Jaegers, Clocks, Jump Bots, Mech Men etc.) by fusing components of them together. Babbage may be an ally of the hero team in this one. -

Couple of things I picked up while attending the Plummit:
There are more than a few people that attended that play CoV only.
The devs are flat-out tired about arguing about the edge case that is PvP.
600,000 or superpacks means a hell of a lot of money for the studio and additional development. (Disclaimer:I like them and buy them with the Tier 9 Reward)
I was rooting for Noir/Pulp;voted for paramilitary; and will probably use some things from the post-apoc costume set...
The Rad Armor set sounds great (I voted for Thrown Weapons) and the effects are different enough from other sets that it should be cool.
I listened to Black Scorpion describe just how weirdly built the code for bases was and how adding/changing any functionality was always scary to do. (Black Scorpion is apparently the the official(?) code archeologist at Paragon. Also fascinating was hearing how Safeguard/Bank missions were designed.)
The devs all love giant robots and watching the mixed emotions of awesome and fear that went across Posi's face when the Striga Island revamp pitch started with Burkholder's robot exiting the volcano was worth the whole trip.
Positron should never karaoke Ke$ha... -
I will be there if Creyhal can give me a ride again. Looking forward to butchering more Lady Gaga at the karaoke event!

Quote:This was brought up in the Art A-Z Panel too, about the dislike of pre-baked coloring as it interfered with tinting. If I recall, it was a dicussion on the Elemental Order helmet where the question was asked: Can you release two versions? One with the Pre-baked and one with Player Selectable colors?Sounds like both things are a concern, though not necessary for the same people. As a concept artist, I obviously don't have control over tints, pre-baked colors, and the handling of textures--that's strictly up to the 3D artists. However, I wanted to thoroughly understand what you guys are saying, and now I think I do.
Pretty sure the character team is well aware of this, but I'll pass it along anyway. -
Quote:They can sell of the ATO's they don't wantInitial thoughts.
This sort of thing works best when people have the option to sell off the stuff they don't like to try and mitigate the cost of purchasing things they didn't want.
Locking it to an account, not great. 'specially since it'll be bought with real cash. -
Waiting on my ride, see you all soon!

Quote:Well now. I guess I have to cough up that costume code next month huh? Otherwise Berkeley is simply not far enough away to hide from Tem Nox's midwestern wrath! And my friend, who is only getting away with not posting on the thread because he has promised me a costume code from the player summit...
I love chibi Connie. She is sooo dawww. -
I'm looking for a ride from East Bay (Berkeley).
Can someone help a hero out? -
So much whining...
When I lived in the mid-west, I couldn't always afford the money or the time to go to these things and it really didn't bother me. Also PAX is far more gamer-centric than DragonCon so it only makes sense to choose it. -
I moved to Berekeley just for things like this...Well not really, but it does sound obsessive doesn't it...I'll be quiet now...

I used the NCSoft Launcher for TR, Xteel, and Dungeonrunners and loathed it constantly. The CoX Launcher/Updater works just fine and isn't annoyingly slow.

4 years for me, but this definitely applies
also after 4 years,- I have only done 1 Shard TF and 1 SF
- Have only 2 lvl 50s
- Click on Lower Body to find belts
- Limit my power choices constantly due to 'concept'
- Never use the 2 Tutorial Inspirations unless I am a quarter inch from death in the final room of a story arc or TF
- Gotten a Tank or a Troller above Level 20
- Gotten a Villain above Level 35
- Never used a build planner or even really planned a build in any way, shape, or form.
- Never found a good reason to go to Boomtown or Galaxy

TV, I was playing single monitor all weekend and though I got a few hesitations, it never froze/crashed.

Quote:I do see another big problem, which is why I left the top portion of your CoH Helper report. You really, really need to upgrade to Vista Service Pack 2. You can do this through the Windows Updates on your computer, sometimes you have to install other updates before this one will show up, but you should make it a habit to install any security updates or recommended updates in the Windows Updates list. If needed, install what updates are shown, reboot, go back to Windows Updates, install what is shown, wash, rinse, repeat until no more updates are showing.
Or, you can at least install Vista Service Pack 2 for 64-bit systems using this link from Microsoft.
Seconded, Thirded, and Fourthed... SP2 also gives a small performance increase aside from all the security and ease of use benefits. -
UPDATE: I just finished running an hour with no crashing or even hesitation loading while using just a single monitor. Peak Memory usage (via Task Manager)was just above 900MB. Never really came close to 1.7GB+ I had been getting running dual monitor.
I'll keep banging away on it to see if I can reproduce the crash. -
Using one sound card at a time after disabling the unused one through the Device Manager. Same type/situation of crash.
I'll try running single monitor again to see if the Assertion Failure repeats and post the log. -
Quote:So same sound card, which is interesting. It looks like you're both running with two monitors as well?
Looking for any other similarities that would help us reproduce the problem.
This is my normal set up using the ATI HD 4850 to run both Monitors. I've also had the crash with only one monitor connected, and also running off an SB Live! Value PCI card instead of the onboard RealTek chipset. But it happens much more regularly with the configuration I posted.
EDIT: Yes I know "much more regularly" is unbelievably subjective, but in my defense I hadn't really been watching carefully until it started crashing predictably.
Last night's crash was after fighting a slew of Legacy Chain with particle effects going off all over the place. (I was on an Elec/Storm Corr). -
And we have a winner...
Assertion failed
