A peak of Titan Weapons in action...
No. I was saying if that's the line of the future and I hope its not. I'm sorry people. I've been little bit low mood at this week. It's not your fault and it was not good idea to make that gloomy comment.

Essentially, this game is about anything you want it to be, as long as you can actually create it.
Me, not you

Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

My new Youtube Channel with CoH info
You might know me as FlintEastwood now on Freedom
Not really a fan of the anime style mega sword deal, but I can't think of a better game environment to fit everything from every genre than City of. I would like to see some of the animations in action with the other weapons though, because that stance, more than the weapon, screams "epic huge sword melee" which would be rather disappointing.
On the other hand, maybe these ginormous weapons will continue to inspire the Devs to get away from cramped, cave and tunnel mission maps :P
"Berserker Sayin Man! Why aren't you helping us fight?"
"Uh... my sword is stuck in the wall".
"Life is what happens when you are making other plans"
Ok that last one was not very good joke.
But let me tell just one story. Don't take it too seriously.
Let's think you have one favourite radio channel. You love all music they play and you listen that channel years and love about all the music what they play. After the years they suddenly play one horrible piece of music and you think it makes your ears to bleed. Ok it was only one song and that's all. After some time they play it again... Just the same piece that makes you feel really uneasy. So everybody says it's not the new line of radiochannel but you start to think... what if they start to play that kind of music more and more... You hope not but still it makes you feel slightly nervous. What if...
Prunejuice is warriors drink.

Seriously though, the awesome thing about comics is that it is an all inclusive genera. Anything can fit, anything. I hate the fact that SS toons can't beat the crap out of mobs with a lamp post, this set allows that to happen. Just look at as another outlet for super strength.

Meh.
Probably the first one I'll skip, honestly. Never liked the way that sort of thing looked - even in Aion, where it was far more common. Still, if you like it, enjoy. |

"And in this moment, I will not run.
It is my place to stand.
We few shall carry hope
Within our bloodied hands."

CoH's core concepts are definitely rooted in "western" comic book themes, but it has never restricted itself to them.

The number of people who play those two ATs greatly overshadow the small number who actually give a damn about Tankers beyond using them. The few who do care have learned long ago...

This is on both Freedom and recently Virtue. In fact, in the last week of iTrials alone, I've seen several leagues with 5+ tankers on BAF and Lambda runs.
What server are you playing on? Zukunft?
Oh, yeah...

SS should be able to pick up heavy things. That's something intrinsic to the concept.
Allowing just anyone to wield a gigantic heavy sword tramples all over that niche.
"So, you get two 'powers' in one; super strength and swordsmanship."
It's like if they made a defensive powerset called "Energy Barrier" that let you form protective forcefields from energy and one of the powers was to form the energy into a shield shape and throw it at enemies, ricocheting off each of them them before returning to you.
That's an ability that by all rights belongs conceptually to Shield Defense. It's one long wanted in SD and something iconic any layman would expect a shield user to be capable of. Shouldn't SD fans have the right to be ticked off by that?
I'd think so.
This is essentially the same thing, IMO. Titan Weapons is at its core a 'pick up heavy thing' power set, and as long as SS isn't allowed to weaponize the environment and pick up heavy things properly, they're just rubbing salt in the wound.
.
J_B, I must admit, I admire your ability to drag any and all topics back to some variation of "super strength should be the strongest of all possible powersets" or "tankers should not only be the toughest AT, but also the most damaging".

A radio station is a pipe. You turn the tap and get whatever's flowing at the moment, then it swirls down the drain. An MMO is a box of toys. You dig around in it until you find the toy you want to play with it and then put it back in the box. The toy never ages, it never breaks and it never goes away even when other people put other toys in the box.
In other words, if you don't like the new stuff, no-one is forcing you to play with it. I don't like Incrnates. Not one bit. I hate the very structure that holds the thing together. So I don't play iCrap and Raid Grind. The things I wanted to play still exist, my characters are still here and they still play like they used to. I've lost nothing, save for the opportunity for new stuff, but that sort of thing eventually sorts itself out.
Adding things you don't like to the game hurts you in no way, shape or form unless you want to go out and say that how other people dress their characters detracts from your experience. I sincerely hope you don't want to make that ill-advised argument.

It's as if someone was working on a racing game that didn't really like racing games and so they designed it like a half baked RTS because they really like playing Command and Conquer in their downtime.

Besides, with how many times people have used the excuse that "You can't have what you want because it's not in the most famous comic books!" or "This hideously bad design is justified because it's like that in comic books, too!" I've developed a certain level of resentment for the genre. For the past seven years, it seems "comic books'" greatest contribution to my gaming experience is excuses and limitations for why my gaming experience isn't as pleasant as I'd like it to be. It's right behind "Because this is an MMO!" actually.
