Ah, very awesome idea Sentry.
I had a blast back when you were running the BBSO nights, and I always had fun sparring with you when we were able to get the fight nights in RV going last autumn (Played the DM/Regen scrapper Shade Silhouette). I have just started getting back into the game a few weeks ago and I will try to participate in this next time you get together. -
Meh, the extended stun was the only issue with it... even if it was comically annoying to fight a WP tanker who could pull off obscene Aid Self uses :P
-
Because all of those sets have resistance holes in them and dark armor has none. It still gives good negative resistances, but it gives good resists to everything.
It is more of a utility set I suppose. *shrug* Who knows? -
I managed to wake up and purchase the set and weapons pack... about 5 minutes before the servers went down :P

Another thing to consider, do not confuse Magic "power responding to the will of the caster" with Miracle "power responding to the will of the Divine". You could have any origin that serves as a focus or conduit or what have you, and work "miracles" in the name of a higher power. It is not required that you be a magical origin, heck, you may not actually have any power at all as it is just being used through you. No need to get tunnel vision in terms of origins.

I am more annoyed that Vanity pets, which have no real function beyond fluff or RP, disappear if you turn on Walk. Seriously Devs?
-
-
Well aware of this, if you take the time to look at the quote I responded to you would see that someone specifically asked about the possibility of combat pets being effected and whether anyone had information one way or another.

Use any that you like, don't be hamstrung by a preset notion of an origin.
Magic is the most obvious and like the saying, "A wizard did it!", an easy one to fit to anything.
Natural could work too if the person is simply a conduit, perhaps raised and trained for the task, maybe just chosen or just born that way (an angel perhaps or half), and while the origin of the power is beyond the normal ken, they might not be.
Mutant can work for the same reason as magic, only it is a quirk in his make up that allows him to channel the powers of some otherworldly being. Or he could even be a mutant in so much as he is a demon that channels the power of God. Who knows?
Science? Sure, perhaps they imbibe some alchemical mixture or are altered by some form of energy on a cellular level. Anything is possible.
Technology seems a stretch but perhaps it refers to the use of devices. The nature of the items could be anything, but in the end a tool is still a tool.
Really just about any origin can be used for any character concept if you think about it. Just go with the idea you like best. -
I did not have a Vet Pet out, however, during a Tin Mage run on Friday night to grab the Midnight Dodger badge, I dropped a Shivan, a HVAS and a Snowbeast along with my two Lore pets and they all functioned for their duration.

Quote:If you like the Golden/Silver Age feel, look these folks up: http://goldenageheroes.guildportal.comI would really be interested in a more "classic" RP Group, ala JLA/Avengers.
I just started playing COX (about 2 mos inbut I have been RPing for quite some time now.
My toons are all below lvl 50 but I love to play in game content as opposed to PLing.
If anyone wants to link up, my Global name is 80sBaby.
Good people, fun RP and themed heroes. -

Could do a Dark/Fire or Dark/Ice blaster with dark having some solid construct like effects and the tentacle imobilize which you can give some freaky paint mix colors to, and both of the secondaries have a sword and some visual effects in the T1 and such.
-
Exactly. Now had they packaged the Wolf Pet with this bundle... cuz hey, how often do the survivalist person in post apocalyptic movies have a dog with them?... and sold it for 800-1600 points, people would probably have bought it if the wolf were permanent.

$5 for consumables? And in such small numbers? Is this a joke or are y'all really banking on folks with severe completion impulses?
-
Yeah, the most times I have seen RP in PvP where the times scheduled events happened, like DJ Shecky's PvP nights with the Cape. Mostly in the form of taunting and boasting in broadcast (In a more, "I'll get you Gadget!" manner than the, "u suk i pwnd u LOL" nonsense) and those were usually fun for all, even when repeated running back and forth from the hospital. Have seen some pseudo RP in zones when they are quiet and just a few folks are there and mostly evenly matched and the playful taunts and jibes and banter goes back and forth.

Wow, I saw this title and I thought it was going to be a rant about the really awful Inf to Prestige conversion rates...
Then I found the original post quoted and I really wished it was a post about the really awful Inf to Prestige conversion rates. -
Interesting story and all but...
I want those costume parts! Including the blood smeared face! -
Yes, we had everyone over graves and just kind of ran away from the big guy... he moves fairly slow and the occasional slow/immobilize attack kept us out of harms way for the most part.
-
We hung out on the graves and they seemed to spawn a lot faster, we were done with the zombies with around 3 or so minutes to spare.
-
Getting the same thing since the patch.
Drivers are up to date. Nvidia gtx560 2 GB card
Horrible bright light flashing, distorted effects on reflection items (even turn the graphics down on water effects and reflections effects and no help), see through geometry in and out of bases.
Not sure what was done today, but this is virtually unplayable unless I want to chance a seizure at this point :P -
Not really a fan of the anime style mega sword deal, but I can't think of a better game environment to fit everything from every genre than City of. I would like to see some of the animations in action with the other weapons though, because that stance, more than the weapon, screams "epic huge sword melee" which would be rather disappointing.
On the other hand, maybe these ginormous weapons will continue to inspire the Devs to get away from cramped, cave and tunnel mission maps :P
"Berserker Sayin Man! Why aren't you helping us fight?"
"Uh... my sword is stuck in the wall". -
Leave the archetype forums alone!
Until you remove archetypes in favor of "playstyle" powersets, leave the forums as is so people can find specific information, especially considering how poor the search function on these forums is already.
