I'm under the impression that momentum ties into the recharge time of the titan weapons powerset. Each successive hit lowers the recharge time of the powerset down a notch building up to a full assault. Miss, get hit, or run out of End and then you have to start all over again.

On the other hand, if they did do that, that means I can continue working on the mechanics for animation speed up for Martial Arts!

I am thinking the guy in the video has never chopped wood, used a claymore, a German Zweihänder, a great axe, or a maul. That is just to name a few weapons of that size. Sorry, but real history is full of weapons that size. Now, I can accept they were not used by people who are build like a 12 yo.

Suffice to say large weapons can be feasible. However where you are and what you're fighting plays a large part of how effective those weapons are.
Also we are now done talking about "reality". At least until the US military comes out with a workable Ironman. We are talking about superheroes, in a videogame, it's just data being shifted around.
The only thing we need to be concerned about is straying too far and turning it into a joke. The weapons themselves and the animations will play a large role in whether or not we cross over that boundary. A boundary which is heavily influenced by our personal opinions.
I think it will be very interesting to see how this weapon set interacts with knock back, down, and up. As it well as mez effects.

I would kind of imagine a nice wind-up decapitation sort of swing. Very basic looking honestly.
To be honest though I'm unsure if a scythe would be well served by the same sort of animations that have to be used for a big-honking-sword and an axe. Maybe that's just my mental image of them though. City of Nero? |
Last I checked, anytime a dev talked about this game it's centered around people with superpowers, not comic book, spandex-clad heroes. Sure, it might take inspiration from various comics, but it also takes inspiration from history, different cultures, movies, etc. CoH prides itself on being "The World's Most Popular Superpowered MMO", not "The World's Most Popular Comic Book MMO."
Bottom line, if it lets you be super, it can be put in.
I want a stop sign for a weapon.

Does anyone else think that players fighting both loyalists and DE on the Underground Trial while "attempting to get to the bottom of a very important piece of information - a secret that once uncovered will shatter the world of Praetoria pretty much permanently" is kinda hinting that Tyrant and the Hamidon might be a little more friendly than his propaganda suggests?

Aside from the two TFs that were added last issue, there doesn't seem to have been much development around the 30 - 50 range. I know that I certainly run out of things to do around that area and has, especially for villains, been a bit of a dry spot historically. Now I'm sure the Devs will get around to giving that range some more attention eventually but I think the bloat of content around the 20-30 range highlights the issue somewhat.
That aside, the rest of this year is starting to look very rosy indeed.

Lvl 20-24 is nothing for all that content, enemy groups, etc in new zone.
I was expecting 20-30 at least, we got Mother's hospital, Diabolique's tower, Sorcerer Selene, Carnival of lights... Too much I think?
But anyways, stuff looking as the best content ever added to the game, at least for me. Also loving the Titan weapons new powerset!
To be fair we don't know how he forged it if it really is a solid metal sword it probably had some heft to it. However that is not how I would build a sword like that. Ideally with any large and long weapon you want the tip to be light and your handle heavy, so that when you swing it your handle and cross guard act as a fulcrum point and your tip accelerates faster than your handle providing greater striking power.

It was about 6' long in total length, and I would never personally fight with it. I prefer short swords.
