Fine, but that doesn't stop me from seeing the stupid things.

But, like I just told someone in another thread on an un-related matter, perhaps I should wait and see. I have a lot of faith in the Devs to not make their game look lame... so it is possible I will like this set when I actually see the options and everything about it fully realized. I just hope it is Smashing damage and not Lethal.

Agreed. Also, I will double the number of punched kittens for the same reason.

Nope. This game is clearly based on Marvel/DC-styled heroics... with but a rare few exceptions.
I am very glad you don't get to make development decisions for the game.

This game has comic influences from all genres, even if some people are too closed-minded to see that.

You could always pretend that they are regular sized weapons weilded by tiny people?

Neat set.

Just think of an oversized weapon as a character with the Super Strength set but carrying a weapon. It actually makes a bit more sense too (a Super Strength who isn't also Invulnerable would punch something and break its own bones).

Yep, that's totally the same as a samurai, or knight.
Seriously?

You're going to bring realism up in a forum devoted to a game that involves people flying and shooting balls of fire from their bare hands and going back in time and all sorts of realistic impossibilities.

Seriously?

And yet another game mechanic that Martial Arts really should have gotten.

Just to make a point, I've been wanting it way longer. He's just made more 5 page posts talking about it.

And if Stalkers get shafted for this option, I will be peeved. I need a big honking scythe, damn it!

Would it be able to play different animations or just the same one speeded up/slowed down?

So in your professional unprofessional opinion... Time Manipulation having + and - animation speed as opposed to just recharge: likely or unlikely?

I was going to say something, but then remembered I feel similarly about some mechanics and SS.

If titan weapon is available for stalker, the AS for the set should be the character trying to heave the weapon over their head.

Nope, it should be the character circling it by the wrist (one handed) for momentum then smashing down (using both hands) with some screen-shake.

I've gone since Issue 3 seeing costumes that would have been improved by mashing the "Random" button. Through all the waves of, as mentioned, "Onoes, it's going to be City of nero/archers/anime/this/that/theother."

Know what? Better to just worry about yourself. If you "see the stupid things," as you put it, you won't see them for long. They'll keep passing by, or you can leave the team (or they can,) and it's not likely you'll see them all so frequently that it'll make one whit of difference.

Leave it as a molehill.

If you've played Dr. Aeon's AE arcs, you'll be able to make a pretty good guess about the answer to that

In theory both. In practice I'm not actually sure precisely what they did. I just know there are a couple of options available to them.

Gotcha!

(I'm not really that cranky about Martial Arts. But don't tell the devs that.)

I'm not even remotely trying to claim that they're not. It's just easy to classify them as western=comic books, Japanese=manga, and so on. Similarly it's easy to classify western cartoons as such and label Japanese cartoons as 'anime'. Nothing but an easy short-hand do differentiate between them for me. It's certainly easier than typing out 'Japanese comic books' every time I want to specifically reference manga.

Come to think of it I think I own more collections of manga (tankobon I guess ...) than I do graphic novels.

Realistic? You're playing a game about superheroes. Realistic wielding of weapons is not a real concern.

All this commotion over giant swords, never mind the fact that we have shields that as a western superhero convention is limited to a VERY minor set of heroes.

And to the Marvel Staff using hero isn't French. He's Cajun.

I would kind of imagine a nice wind-up decapitation sort of swing. Very basic looking honestly.

To be honest though I'm unsure if a scythe would be well served by the same sort of animations that have to be used for a big-honking-sword and an axe. Maybe that's just my mental image of them though.

Wouldn't it be nice though if it did increase the animation speed also? Now, that would be cool.

I am thinking the guy in the video has never chopped wood, used a claymore, a German Zweihänder, a great axe, or a maul. That is just to name a few weapons of that size. Sorry, but real history is full of weapons that size. Now, I can accept they were not used by people who are build like a 12 yo.

That would be cool! Just like DC/Marvel has super powered cowboys, and ancient egyptians, and medieval knights, and far-future gadgeteers, and demons, and aliens, and sentient planets, and cave men, and talking gorillas, and wizards, and....
