Another thing that really bothers me is that the color of the backpack won't match up with older costumes using the same color shade and can't ever seem to get them to match up.

Colour issues:

The colour-locked hair on the new Male/Huge hats is... well, baffling. Surely locking the colour of the goggles would make more sense, in the absence of a third colour choice.

The new jackets and sleeves seem to be coloured in such a way that they can only match each other - choosing, for instance, a Steampunk pack jacket and the classic Blazer sleeves will create a noticeable difference. Why, for pity's sake?

Also, I love the colourable coat/vest on the Victorian Steampunk jacket, but surely there's a better option than having the shirt colour match the coat's. Matching the vest would make more sense, or defaulting to white.

Model issues:

Huge models seem to throw the new pieces right out of line. The new hats create a strange gap at the back of a Huge model's neck, like he's wearing an ill-fitting wig. The sideburns of these hats do not line up with the beard, especially with the Steampunk pack beards. This is an issue for a number of old Huge hats, but is particularly noticeable with the forward-pointing sideburns of the new hats.

Now I look at it, the new Male hats have an unusual clipping issue - the model of the hair disappears into the neck, especially when in a combat stance. My hosting's down; otherwise, I'd post screenshots.

Also, the Male Victorian Steampunk 03 Jacket - the double-breasted waistcoat - has a button problem. The second row of buttons from the top isn't moored to the coat itself, and floats around alarmingly when the waist slider is adjusted. There's a similar issue on the 02 Jacket - one of the buttons pops right through the coat when the chest slider is maxed.

Personal thoughts:

I'm not quite buying the texture on the Male 01/02 coat. It looks very light and wrinkly, like a cotton lab coat. Victorian frock coats were typically heavyweight wool constructions, the kind to survive a bomb going off. Also, the waist seam is a good touch, but it sits considerably below the waist, isn't straight, and doesn't go all the way around - making it look less like a seam than another wrinkle. Also also - there really ought to be buttons on that thing. Honestly, you could just copy the buttons from the Baron coat - they'd be perfect.

(I don't mean to quibble - the models really are fantastic, and the textures on the waistcoats are great. It's just that darn coat - it just doesn't look like a real piece of clothing.)

Good:
New pistols - Awesome
Victorian Decor Aura - Very Awesome
New backpacks and wings - Very cool.
Actually, all of this is cool. Aside from the bits below.

Bad:
No bolero jackets in sleeveless jackets? Whose bright idea was that?
No long jackets for females? Once again, we get short changed, just like with the baron jacket. As others have said, the lack of gender proliferation in some of these outfits is just crazy.

Ugly:
Both female chest details, when worn under a jacket, clip through the front of the jacket on any chest slider setting above absolute minimum.
The already mentioned bug with the rifle's muzzle flash.

Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Personally I'm going to hope that means we're going to get them free in an upcoming patch/issue/whatever. Since that hairstyle isn't exactly steampunk specific.

Either that or it's just an oversight.

I did notice something. I went to go try and put the classic steampunk belt on one of my characters who has a trenchcoat on and noticed that none of the pack's belts or chest options were available for use with that costume piece. If it's a clipping issue at least one of the belts should have no problems (classic steampunk 02).

Put me down as one that would love to see the curls as a separate hair style. Also would like to have that Steampunk hat but with a option that doesn't have the goggles wrapped around it.

Going on gender parity for costume parts, I would like to see that female shoulders only park thingy be available to male characters...

what???

see School of Rock

Not exactly steampunk, but still, if the part can fit a purpose outside of what it was intended, and I'm sure i'm not the only one that could use it on male characters then why not?

Colour Issues: With the male jackets I can't seem to be able to get second colours to work on them at all, even when theres an obvious place for them. Also there seems to be a case of "black is too black" and details are lost on some parts on the darkest settings

(although that may be a case of 'new install of test server and hadnt changed gamma yet)

I also think the whole pack is a prime example why we need to get the tech in place for 3 colour options where appropriate, and for auras, 2 colour options. Clunker oil looks good on black, clunker cogs and sprockets look good on brown... swap those colours around and you have 'meh' or diarrhea...

Was just coming here to say that.

Yes, I agree I would very much like being able to color the hair on the hats. I must say also, as someone who has more then 20 characters that will use something from this pack and I am getting within the hour its first released, I am begging.. please.. give us sleeveless jacket options.. Everything else to me is practically perfect but that is something I really need. I like mixing the Resistance shoulders/gloves and other sleeveless options with jackets quite often (those are some of my favorite styles) and I know that this would be something that everyone would get much use out of.

As for the faces.. as an artist myself, I understand the principle behind it but I feel alot of the issues with the faces are the sheen from the lighting. If it were toned down or had a layered textured added, I think that would make a bigger difference with the "doll" head affect which I have run into myself.

Ultimately, this pack really highlights some much needed upgrades to the CC, such as a third colour option and more parsity between pieces. And a 'textured' and 'non-textured' version so that people can avoid the browns etc of various pieces.

With the Remarkable Reliable Rifle the Graphics are not inline with the actual Barell of the gun. In fact the graphic appears right under the gun it's self. Just wanted to point this out to you guys.

I need to go to bed....ugh.

Oh my sweet ******* **** ****. I am so buying this the second it is available.

For the Classic Steampunk 01 chest detail on females, the part colored with the first color pick always has an ugly grey tone that prevents it from actually being the color you chose, can we please get rid of this.

I second this. I tried the Victorian Top hat on my blue-haired hero, and when I make the mustache blue it just looks ridiculous.

I want to use a rifle with a freaking bayonet please!

It'd also let me re-roll my AR/Pain Corr as a SoA and be far more effective.

One more nitpick, if I may: is it at all possible to have the clockwork wings fold up more tightly when at rest? They stick out a LONG way back as they are now.

I'm just going to add my name to the "female Victorian jackets need a sleeveless version" crowd. And also the "make all the coats available to females" crowd, along with the general group regarding everything to do with hats, hair, and non-changeable colors.

I will say that everything looks pretty great, but man, those glaring issues which everyone has pointed out really bug me.

Major beef with this pack same as my beef with the Magic pack. WHY OH Why can't we get the male jackets for female models?*SOB* Also a little lower heel in the boots would be nice.

Other things I like, The Decor Aura, this is very nice. More like this please! The Clunker Aura fits for those of us with the scientist (mad or otherwise) bent. The Wings are great looks like something would come out of a 'sparks' or Doc Brown's lab. The CC emotes work although not sure I can see my female characters using them often.

All in all I will buy this pack just extremely disappointed that the Jackets are not available for the female models. One would have thought that you had kept in mind our complaints about the magic pack

Awesome stuff!

I would like to see the following changes:

1) Victorian Steampunk Detail 1 be used with Face with Mask and Full Mask
2) Classic Steampunk 02 Belt with Males. A clock belt buckle? My male time traveler could put that to use.
3) I'd like to see the option for a non flapping animation for the Wonderful Windup Wings so that they can glide. I think they also stick out a bit further than normal when not in use.
4) One day I'd like to see the long curly hair under the Classic Steampunk Hat be available as a normal hairstyle.
5) I realllly think that the Steampunk Vests/Jackets should be made available in the Sleeveless Jackets category.
6) I'd prefer to color the hair on the new male hats over the goggles.
7) I second Silver Age Fan's suggestions.

Wanna know why?
I think they are using reflections. I was twisting and turning them in the CC, and there was some sort of ripple effect that looked very like the reflection you get in metal. Might want to let the art team know before this goes life. It's very uncanny valley right now
No, the reflection seems a bug of the costume creator. It applies on all costume pieces even on live servers, but it seems that it's more remarkable on some textures (like the new faces).
Try it, just change the faces for some of the older ones. You'll notice the same "reflection effect", just more diffused.

Edit: BTW, still no access to the character copy tool for European servers

Some of the problems already identified I have a picture. I really hope the new double-breasted vests can be made right, it would be a dream come true:

2) If you pick Classic Steampunk sleeves, you cannot get the colors to match the shirt underneath the vest. In some cases, the colors are way off.
3) The bow tie on the classic shirt is nice, but you can't make it go away if you'd rather have something else. The usual neck options are layered underneath the bow tie when you select them. Could we have an option without the tie, so something else could be put there instead?
4) ... 5) ... ...
Look like this:

The first one is where I am today. The middle one looks good, even the brown clasps, except for the duplicate bowtie. The last one is too dirty by default to support white shirts - there are already greys available for tinting, so this should be just a trivial matter of lightening the base. It also has a duplicate cravatte. Hopefully those ties can be converted to Chest Detail options like other ties, or simply erased (in a separate version?) - that would make all ties available (and tintable) for the middle outfit by just removing the bow tie polygon!

I really hope there is still time to fix these, it is already such a huge step in a great direction.

This is easily the most complete pack across the board, costumes, abilities, everything.

That said it is seriously limited by gender and customization restrictions so here is how it can be even better:

Quote:
Jackets
  • Classic Steampunk (Metal Vest w/ Bow Tie)
  • Victorian Steampunk 01 (Long Coat)
  • Victorian Steampunk 02 (Long Coat and Vest w/ Chain and Ascot)
  • Victorian Steampunk 03 (Vest w/ Chain and Ascot)
Top priority give them to females too.

The long coat has a brass lining which is uncustomizable even though the 01 version has a free customization slot.

Please add them to sleeveless jackets.

Quote:
Face
  • Classic Steampunk
  • Victorian Steampunk
Forced makeup is a serious issue.

Quote:
Belt
  • Classic Steampunk 01 (Belt w/ Lace)
  • Classic Steampunk 02 (Belt w/o Lace)
  • Victorian Steampunk (Bustle)
Please give at least the clock belt to males.

Quote:
Sleeves
  • Classic Steampunk (Puffy Short)
  • Victorian Steampunk (Puffy Long)
The short sleeves should have a color option for the lace.

Quote:
Backpack
  • Steampunk Backpack
The steam stack top being brass is problematic for customization and unnecessary. Just make it a solid stack no bracer required.

Quote:
Hats
  • Classic Steampunk (Bowler Hat with sideburns and pipes)
  • Victorian Steampunk (Top Hat with sideburns and goggles)
Requires customizable hair like the female hat.

Quote:
Gloves
  • Classic Steampunk
The gloves should be proliferated across sexes. Why in the world is the mechanical glove only male and the striped glove only female?

Positive feedback

Quote:
Emotes
  • Inspiration – An incandescent light bulb appears over the character’s head.
  • /e inspiration
  • Train Whistle – Character yanks on a train whistle, which releases steam and makes a “toot toot” sound.
  • /e trainwhistle
  • Hot Temper – Character looks angry as steam blows from his ears.
  • /e hottemper
Some of the best booster emotes yet.

Quote:
Steam Jump Travel Power
Excellent choice of power and I would vote for no recharge too. We're well beyond booster powers making travel powers redundant, and when it comes to travel I'm always in favor of buffs. I like the trend of travel convenience instead of powers included as booster bonuses.

Quote:
Wings
  • Steampunk Wings
Top wings yet.

Quote:
Skirts/Shorts
  • Victorian Steampunk (Skirt)
Interesting trick to make a skirt viable.

Quote:
Detail 2
  • Victorian Steampunk (Lacy Choker) - only availble on "Standard" head setting.
This is better than any lacy type of item so far.

Quote:
New Auras
  • Victorian Décor - Glowing Victorian designs placed at different locations around the body.
I'd like a lot more of this type of aura with a floating pattern you can add around a costume.
