Beautiful and poignant. To echo what I said in the video comments,
Did what we did in Paragon City matter? Of course it did. Even if it all ends up being video, memory, and fiction, we'll all always have these times, these days, these people we became. If we are the sum of our experiences, then everything we did is within us.
We will remember these legendary days, these times that, even with the game gone, they can never take away from us. This world changed me, and I think changed most of us, for the better. Years from now, we can all say "I was there, I made that journey. We shook the pillars of creation and let imagination be the conduit of the true power that created all the others. Our spirit. Our will. Our Heart."
This was the story of Paragon.
And you, Michelle, have been our chronicler, the one who captured what we did, what we saw, put it together, put it to music, and showed the wider world just what we can dare to dream, with the tools we had. When memory falters, when we need to describe this experience we've shared,we'll be able to go to your videos and go "Watch this. I was there. This is how it feels to be a hero."
Thankyou. A thousand times thankyou. Your passion and dedication have left more of a lasting legacy for this game, it's developers, and the people in it than it's publishers ever have.

Paid for 1200 (+bonus) paragon points 29th August on debit card. Still waiting for refund on that.

Mine's a lot like Z's, although I must admit there's three extra tracks in mine.
Nightwish - Ghost Love Score.
Frank Sinatra - My Way (for my heroes)
Sid Vicious - My Way (for my villains) -
In the immportal worlds of Dylan Thomas:
"Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. "
Take this from us, and we will take our custom from you. -
No, thank you. Thank you all. For the last Seven and some years (since Eu launch, more or less) this has been the place I've always come back to. All the others I either play seldom or left by the wayside. This has been my entertainment and my inspiration. I met a crowd of good friends, my spiritual Little Sister, and have been part of the most awesome gamer community I've ever seen.
You built and maintained this amazing world where we could get together, low of steam, have fun and tell some awesome stories. We built amazing people in the world and with the tools you created.
We salute you. We will miss you. But we will never forget you. In fiction, at least, the things you have done here will live on.
Hail Paragon, and Farewell. -
Can I vote for a special joint first? SyrusB/Liz and Leaf-nin... they're both so awesome.
If I have to settle for 123:
1) SyrusB/Liz (By a Gnats Crotchett. Genuinely, having to finick and split hairs to seperate the two)
2) Leaf-Nin
3) Tartyr -
So, stripping out the sarcasm, I'm the only person who thinks it's absurd that they gave the females every piece of that same outfit except one bit? If it was a mix and match kind of thing, I'd be agreeing with your logic, however, I do have to wonder what kind of design decision comes up with "give them every part of a unified outfit except one piece."
That said, of course, the set itself is unreasonably awesome, and I'm fully happy with what they've done aside from this one little niggle. -

OK, I'm actually going to bite and call them out on this. With all the progress they were making on cross-gendering this stuff, with the amount of stuff in this pack that both genders (and huge, poor thing) get, why in the name of Shatners Toupe didn't they give females the armoured spacesuit boot option? They gave them the gloves, the bottoms, the top, everything else, but they seem to have omitted the boots. That's actually kind of absurd.
Yes, they've not been there since the set was first put on beta, but I honestly can't grasp why a rational decision was made to give the females every other part of that outfit, but not the boots.
Like I say, its more than a little absurd. -
Despite all that argument about gender equality, all that promise from the art folks, the cool armoued spacesuit boots aren't available for females. While the armoured gloves are.
This seems a little.... unusual. Yes, thats it. I shall say unusual. -
Anyone found the Spacesuit Boots on females yet (yes, apparently we're supposed to have them?) and yes, bots MM's get the rifle options. I can almost hear Josie's glee.
Edit: Apparently, females don't get the cool armoured boots. So much for a bit more gender neutrality in costuming. Josie is an unhappy Cyborg Pirate Queen -
Quote:Actually, kin wouldn't help ranged pet sets all that much. Something like nin would get much more use out of it than say robots. Its all those target-based AOE's.
Yeah, I can see how Transfusion, Increase Density, Transference, and Fulcrum Shift wouldn't be useful at all. Siphon Speed also slows your enemies and increases your speed. Speed Boost would enhance Recovery and Speed for the bots. But that's not useful either. -
Quote:Clarkes 3rd Law: Any Sufficiently advanced form of technology is indistinguishable from magic.I tend to interpret the origin of a character's powers to constitute the nature of said powers, not so much the means of acquiring them. Thus, irrespective of how a character has acquired the technology or how it was developed, if this technology is at the centre of the character's powers, he's Tech. This is, obviously, where subjective interpretation comes into play.
I actually have a character whose name I really should fix, who's a scientist that cracked the natural laws behind magic. Ignoring how intrusive this is to other people's characters (I don't RP or presume to share a fictional world with other people's stories), he's still of the Tech origin, despite the fact that he is using what is for all intents and purposes pure magical energy. The way his machines are designed, magic is used as a power source. Despite the fact that he had to use the knowledge of magic to develop this technology, it's still a piece of technology no different to Doc Aeon syphoning off the heat from a slumbering demon, spoiler alert.
Technomancer's Law: Any sufficiently advanced form of magic is indistinguishable from technology.
I see what you did there
(Also, Programmers Law: Any sufficiently advanced form of technology is indistinguishable from a rigged demonstration.) -
And what smooth crotch, it's power gone at last,
slouches away from Statesman to much scorn. -

I now have the Beast/Sonic magically themed MM named...
Calla De Wilde.
*ducks* -
Too expensive for what it is. Enough said.

Quote:Hehe. Pyrophilliacs and the Warriors that love them.CoH Freedom's ability to make Heroic Brutes from the get go in Paragon City let me make my Fire/Fire mutant reporter, Natasha Sheers. Fury was perfect for her, as she succumbs to the desire to burn more things and burn hotter the more she uses her powers.
Have to agree with the basic point though. Opening up the old redside AT's in blueside from start made so many concepts so much more doable.
Although if we get right down to it, as someone else said, Going rogue in general, for my Bots/traps mastermind to go blueside. Cyber-Pirate Queen Anarchy Mistress Josie. Strangely, works much better blueside. -
My dark/fire is coming along nicely. She's part Balrog..
"You know what they awoke in the darkness of Khazad-dum... shadow and flame." -
Awesome, as usual.
(Insert obligatory and oft-repeated "Paragon need to outsource their trailers to DR" commentary here as you feel appropriate.) -
Ok, so I don't have a hard numeric suggestion for how you'd fix it, but I do have to second the idea that I resent the notion of having to dip into the fighting pool for functionality that my primary should be doing for me. The problem, as we've seen, is how do you make sure that it means that people who DO take tough/weave aren't overpowered, and people who don't aren't underpowered.
Is it possible, perhaps, to set a limit such that tough/weave can't push res/def beyond the point that the powerset could do on its own? A third cap for the amount that tough/weave can boost to? and then you can up the defense/res values for the sets and everyones happy. Well, except for people who like running two extra toggles, I suppose. Just airy speculation here. -
Having done both trials a couple of times, I'll tell you the ones that are going to be a pain, based on the group that I had (Full leagues, mostly at +3, one attempt fail, one attempt success on each trial)
for MoM:
Once you get the tactics down, none of them are particularly harsh, except maybe Perfect Storm. Everythng else is a matter of learning the tactics and repitition to get all the nightmares.
for TPN:
This is more interesting, as I'm still not 100% sure about certain aspects. We got Fair and Balanced on the second run, mostly due to getting an efficient high damage ST team to deal with the telepathists. A target telepathist bind/macor helps here. I can see where it might cause an issue.
News flash I can see being a pain, but eventually dooable. I think it's going to come out to experiments on balancing between the inside teams and the outside team.
Television Addict, I have to say, I have no idea how to get, largely because I have no idea who HD is, how he takes damage or how you stop him taking damage. More practise will probably bear fruit here.
For this crop of trial badges, I have to say, they've found the balance. There's none for "doing it in hard mode" (ie. making things much harder for yourself deliberately to get a badge, such as all the lambda temp power ones) and pretty much all of them will, I believe, fall as teams get used to the tactics. How long it will take, we shall see. -
I still mourn my @Gideon handle. Had it in the EU since we get totalcat, and lost it to someone who appears to never be online (or at least doesn't answer politely worded global mails about ANYTHING.)
The situation stinks, but there's not a lot that can be done about it.
