what secondary are you pairing with dark?

I'm an altaholic and will be making at least one fresh dark control character with I22 (quite likely one dom & one troller). I'm wondering what people are thinking will be the "best" assault pairing with the darkish control. Theorycraft away

I think a Dark/Fire Dominator will be wicked sick. I am sure anything will have merit in conjunction with Dark/ but Dark/Fire should be extremely nasty!

I'm primarily looking at /Earth and /Energy:

Both have Power Boost and both can slot multiple Force Feedback procs (more +rech; yay!)

I'm leaning more towards Earth though (more AoE and AoE application of FF procs)

I have a late 30's Dark/Dark and Dark/Fire on Beta. They are pretty darn strong. I suspect you will see these combos quite frequently on live. I was also considering testing the Psi combo's with Dark as well.

I know for sure that I am making dark/fire and dark/dark for sheer glory, and also dark/energy because it fits an old Champions character I used to play back in '83 or so.

Probably Psi until they provide alternate animations for Dark Assault. If they do.

Maybe Fire.

I can't roll Dark/Dark. The difference in animations alone make it an unappealing choice for me. I could work something out, I'm sure, but in the end I'd likely be unhappy with it and lose interest due to cosmetic reasons.

I'm fairly certain I'm going to roll with /Psi. Dark/Fire feels too much like hellspawn and I've never been much into those kinds of characters. However, I'm also considering Dark/Ice, depending on if I can come up with a concept I like using an ice sword with.

I'll be rolling a Dark/Psi/Soul. Carnies ahoy!

Dark/Dark/Soul

I've wanted this combo for an eternity....

I will most likely make a Dark/Dark/Soul too, for thematic reasons. Then I will most likely make a Dark/Ice.

dark/psi maybe dark/dark...

Dark/fire for me. Maybe it'll be good enough that I'll actually play it instead of getting to 20ish and deleting it like I usually do with dominators.

I'm thinking Dark/Psi, should make a nasty combo.

As a side note, if there's enough interest, would anyone want to roll an all Dark control theme team (Dom n' Troll) once it launches? 8 stacked sets of -ToHit would be wonderful to see with a pack of 8 shadow beasts.

I'd be happy to put one together, but would like to see the amount of interest. Server would most likely be Virtue since not everyone is VIP.

I haven't decided yet, I am leaning to re-creating my dark/dark on beta,
other things I am considering,
Dark/Psi
Dark/Ice - I don't have a high level Ice Assault dom yet

I will say, I half wish they ported Staff Fighting to Doms, I'd love a Dark/Staff Dom, yes its a melee set, but it would work very well concept wise with Doms of all primaries

I think dark/dark/soul like everyone else i been waiting a long time for this combo. Most likely make same for controller.

Does anyone think they will bring out a darkness mastery epic pool?

I'm conflicted here.
I want to do Dark/Dark, but I know they will be a dime a dozen for a while, and to a lesser extent maybe Dark/Fire and Dark/Psi

So come time, I may either
give in and do Dark/Dark,
or maybe do Dark/Earth, Dark/Ice, or Dark/Thorns

Planning two new Doms for tomorrow, actually - a Dark/Fire "evil sorceress" type, and a Mind/Dark vampyri. Already have both costumes designed, and the vampyri is a pretty passable facsimile, if I do say so myself. I've been waiting a LONG time to play the latter, and the Psi/Dark Blaster just wasn't cutting it for me, thematically.

I may do Dark/Fire for Goblin Queen instead of Dark/Psi. Purple and green flames for faerie fire is kinda cool, even tho the graphics of the set are a bit dated when you tint them something other than the original colors. It looks good on paper at least.
