On Topic: I removed my original post here and moved it to the Feedback: Costumes thread since I felt it would be better there but I just wanted to point out a couple things. Concerning the bow tie on the Classic Steampunk, I think it would be best removed as well. As it is now, we already have 2 bow tie options (one in Shoulders, the other in Chest Details) and just don't see the point in having this attached as it limits us quite a bit.
Secondly, I can't help but reiterate how both male/female jacket parts should be made for the sleeveless options as well. I think everyone can agree that would be the most beneficial out of all our suggestions.
But, if I hadn't said it before, the artwork, concept designs overall are stunning and I for one can not wait for this pack to go live! As both an artist and a neo-victorian/steampunk enthusiast in RL for longer then it has had a label, I definitely commend the people that worked on this!
Thanks for all of the compliments and kind words.
We've made a compilation of the feedback you have all provided and are in the process of reviewing it with the art production team. While any changes or updates we make won't be present at launch, we will implement them as soon as it's possible to do so, much like we did with the Animal Pack.

under the jackets section there is a slection for Classic Steampunk 01 can you add this to the sleeveless jackets section, please? Thank you in advance. Actually can you add all the new jackets to the sleeveless jackets section.

Hey, thanks for popping in and sharing, Zwill! On a Saturday, no less!
I won't harass anyone over any criticism I have about the choices made on this pack like I did about the animal fur on flat feet, hehe... as that seemed like an actual mistake (I just didn't want to see overlooked) and these are design choices. We all have to make choices and sometimes it ain't easy!
Still, this pack is full of a lot of awesome! I just want those belt buckles and those striped gloves for male/huge models because they're awesome (and colorable hair for the hats would be awesome too).
and round up everyone that knows more than they do"-Dylan

To consolidate my feedback in rough order of personal opinion (most-least):
(1) Jackets should follow the "Jacket - Chest/Shirt - Tie" method all the other jackets use. We already have tie options for wide ties and for bow ties so there's no good reason to force them on us if we don't want to use a tie.
(2) All parts should be tintable whenever possible without a base color heavily limiting the color options. Some baked in shading is fine (like the already in game Steampunk armor) but forced colors (steampunk backpack) are not. If I hit white, it should at least be in the spectrum of white. Pieces like the guns should be tinatable beyond the tiny bit of handle
(3) Jackets should all have sleeveless options
Actually, I'd be happy with just that. I do like the concept of the pack and the artwork, it's just the limitations that arise as you play with it that seem as though they could have been done a little differently from the start that take the shine off the pack.

Although overall I like the pack (easily the best one in quite a while), my main feedback is that there are far too many baked-in colors and designs.
As we've discussed in the Screenshots thread on this booster, the Victorian era was extraordinarily colorful, so this pack represents a faulty impression of both the actual era and the fanciful version that's being used in sci-fi and Fantasy. Yes, there are a lot of browns and tans in that sub-genre, but there are likewise tons of color. At the very least, allowing all the items to be colored will let players decide if they want to use the pieces strictly for steampunk designs or to use them in other, more fanciful, ways. One that came to mind immediately for me was a Carnival Clockwork, but we sadly can not alter the colors of the wings and such to fit in with the concept.
Jackets and long coats for women are de rigeur in the speculative fiction side of things, and like many others I'm not sure I get why we are limited to using specific ties and shirts. Same with the hair and hats.

Sorry. I don't quite understand how I misread that. I blame Uni and stress >_<
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Gorgeous pack, seriously.
Subjective feedback:
1) Can we PLEASE get a seperate version of the new assault rifle and new pistols that is completely colourable, the fact that only either the stock changes on the assault rifle version and the little decoration that's almost impossible to notice ingame on the pistols doesn't really give many options. Hence why I'm suggesting that you do two version, like there is a Legacy and colourable version of various weapons. Make a non-colourable legacy version and a completely colourable version which takes both primary and secondary colours like all other colourable versions of weapons do. |
After playing around with the pack... well, it has issues for me.
Female Heads:
1: Detail 2 'Victorian Steampunk 01' I feel needs a version without the broach.
2: Hair 'Victorian Steampunk 01' does not take a blending second colour, so my character who usually has White/Pale Yellow hair for a very light blonde can't use it, as I can only have white or straw coloured hair.
3: Hat 'Classic Steampunk 01' needs a version sans goggles, and I would love to see the ringlets hairstyle without a hat.
4: Face Classic Steampunk has make-up, which means that applying lip colour does not work properly. Same goes for Victorian Steampunk face.
Female Upper Body:
1: No Sleeveless Jackets option.
2: Classic and Victorian Jackets don't have the same texture as the Classic Steampunk Sleeve, making it look slightly off.
3: There really needs to be a Wrist Victorian Steampunk option to go with the Victorian Steampunk Sleeves. Or even a longer Victorian Steampunk Sleeve to compensate. Also, a version without the lace.
4: Chest Detail Classic Steampunk 01 could do with a version with a longer corset part.
5: Gloves Classic Steampunk really needs a Victorian Steampunk counter part, with the rows of buttons that the boots have.
6: Belt Classic Steampunk 01 and 02 need a version without the timepiece.
Female Lower Body:
1: A Classic Steampunk dress is not present, leaving only the not quite suitable Victorian Steampunk dress for an outfit. Something with ruffles and thigh-concealment would be nice.
2: There is no option to colour the inside of Victorian Steampunk Dress, which is odd considering there is no other colour option to it.
3: No Boots Smooth/Classic Steampunk option, or a knee high Victorian Boots option.
Male Head:
1: The secondary colour affects the colour of the Detail 2/Classic Steampunk Beard.
2: The Classic and Victorian Steampunk facial hair do not accept a second colour, thus no blending.
3: There is no hair colour change option on Hats/Classic Steampunk 1 or Victorian Steampunk 1.
4: Hats/Classic Steampunk 1's components look glued on, with no rhyme or reason for why they are there. It seems to be take hat texture and stick on bits.
Male Upper Body:
1: No Sleeveless Jacket options.
2: The Sleeve options do not match the Jacket options texture.
3: Mandatory bow Tie on Classic Steampunk 1 jacket that can't be colour changed.
4: Mandatory crevat on Victorian Steampunk 3 jacket that cannot be colour changed.
5: Victorian Steampunk Jacket 1 and 2 are colour locke in the gold edging. Secondary colour on Steampunk 1 jacket does nothing.
6: Victorian Steampunk 01 Sleeves do not have an option to change the gold edging. Secondary colour does nothing.
7: No Time Belt Option for Male characters.
8: No victorian glove option.
9: No smooth/Victorian or Classic Steampunk Glove option.
Male Lower Body:
1: Classic Steampunk Boots have no option to change gold or silver parts. Secondary colour does nothing.
2: Victorian Steampunk boots have no otpion to change gold part, secondary colour does nothing.
3: CLassic and Victorian Steampunk options only exist for tucked in trousers, none for pants.
I have not noticed any differing issues with the Huge options, so they apply to Male as well.
Would like to have:
An end to the jacket gender divide. Long jackets (Victorian and Baron) for female characters, bolero and the short victorian/classic jacket options for male. They'd work, they could be used. I can get a martial artist outfit for a male character in mind using the female jacket, almost a little Foreshadow style.
the one techinal issue I have seen is the 2 female steam punk chest details (the bodices) have clipping issues with alot of the coats
the coats should also have sleeveless options
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
What/where is the weapon used to assassin's strike in the video?
That's not a current option for any powerset that I can see...
I'd like to see a 'no sleeves' option for the jackets, the female jackets in particular... but it would be nice for males too. Please, please make a sleeveless option for the jackets
the 'baked in' design on a few of the pieces is disappointing. the ascot and bowtie, for example should be available separately. head detail 2 would probably be the best place, IMO, to give people an option to use or not use them. I don't expect this to change, but could you please make a sleeveless option for the jackets?
Aside from not having a sleeveless jacket option (hint, hint) the steampunk pack looks very promising on the ladies' side. lots of great pieces, wonderful design and detail... I can say I'll be using most of the female options at some point or another across a number of characters... none of which are even steampunk themed
To the Art team, Developers and whoever else is involved putting these boosters out... Please keep that last line above in mind when you're making future boosters. While it's nice to have such quality pieces, it's much nicer to have quality pieces that aren't intrinsically tied to a specific genre or idea and can be used in a variety of different applications. take the Martial Arts pack as a prime example... it's widely used for characters ranging from elves to sorcerers and beyond. Check out Mortimer Kal... someone over there knows what I'm talking about
Oh, and I almost forgot to ask... can we get a sleeveless option for the jackets? PLEASE?
Subjective feedback:
The pack is very stylish. Beautiful work.
Objective feedback:
The female tops included as 'chest details' clip badly with trenchcoats.
The victorian skirt and boots do not properly reflect colors chosen, appearing several shades darker. For instance, coloring them white leaves the items a dull grey.
Apparently we can't put the pin striped pants on females. Seems like an odd oversight, since that's a staple of women's clothing for steampunk roleplayers. That should be relatively easy to port over, yes?

Now that I've had a chance to test this, here is my feedback:
Like others, I'm not so crazy about the "baked in" colors. In particular, all the gold buttons. I know brass/gold are Steampunk stables, but this really limits the versatility of some of these pieces. And not being able to change the color of male characters' hair is just awful. Please fix that before you send this live.
Secondly, I don't like the muted effect some of the pieces have. For instance, my Arch/Dev Blaster has white hair. When I use the Steampunk hat on her, her hair looks grey. There is also a muted effect with the bra-like chest option, and it makes matching it with other things rather difficult.
I do not like that the chest pieces clip so horribly with trench coats on female characters. This is another change I'd like to see made before it goes live.
The gears, clock faces, and winders should all be animated. They look flat and boring as they are. Adding the animated steam, and sound effects, to the back pack is great, but you need to take that a step farther.
And speaking of taking this a step farther - I really hope this isn't the end to Steampunk additions. I would love to have Steampunk options for Devices and Traps, as well as Steampunk weapons for Claws and Archery. Furthermore, I would love to have Steampunk options for my Robots Mastermind, and we sorely need some Steampunk armour. We have had an incomplete set of Steampunk armour for seven years now, and I'm disappointed that you didn't take the opportunity to correct that. I would also like some Steampunk piston boots that are fully animated, have steam effects, and appropriate sound effects.

Try it, just change the faces for some of the older ones. You'll notice the same "reflection effect", just more diffused.
Edit: BTW, still no access to the character copy tool for European servers

But yeah, I noticed the slight effect in the CC, but this is far more pronounced. A chance encounter with a Community Redname was enough for them to mention that they'd passed it onto the art team, which would inffer that its not quite WAI, which makes sense given the huge difference from the other faces and not in a good way when they look like wax.
