I have already pre-paid for Torchlight 2 on Steam (which got me Torchlight 1 for free).
I have also given $10 to Path of Exile and joined its beta. It seems very much like what Diablo 3 should have been. The Skill Tree offers loads and loads of alternate paths/builds. Look is equipment based, but it's been ok so far. -
Here is a good forum post on installing it if you need it:

Beta is separate from Test. You want Beta.
Here is the Paragonwiki page on it:

Quote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't NCsoft still license the game engine and other assets from Cryptic (now part of Perfect World)? Perhaps the contract is due to expire and they were either unwilling or unable to renegotiate? That would pretty much mean the game needs to shut down ASAP.
I haven't played regularly in a long time, but was there for a good 6 years from beta. Feels like the end of an era and hard not to feel a little saddened.Quote:That's an interesting angle. The initial announcement was November 7, 2007, so it'll be pretty much 5 years when it closes.
I would have thought that NCSoft would have made that part of the announcement though, it would blunt the bad press they are getting.Quote:5 years almost to day? Yeah, definitely sounds like a contract issue to me. No matter what they say there's no way they're going to shake the stink on them over this. We'll probably never know which party is to blame -- NCsoft for willingly deciding to not renew, Perfect World for not offering, or any other possible combination of failed negotiations.
I'm completely and totally bummed out by this news. I haz a sad
The above quotes are a very good question. If the license is expiring, could Cryptic put it back up and running? Is that too much to hope for? -
Quote:Hmm, how will this effect damage procs in damage auras?
I currently have a spine/elec that has 3 in each... heh.
Chance to activate = once per 10 seconds
Area factor = 1 + 0.75 (0.15 * 8) = 1.9
[assumes all are 8' PBAoEs, which I think they are]
Standard proc (3.5PPM):
(10 * 3.5) / (60 * 1.9) = ~30.7% proc rate
[versus the old 20% chance, or 15% if ToD]
Purple proc (4.5PPM):
(10 * 4.5) / 114 = ~39.5% proc rate
[versus the old 33% chance]
edit: And I see Kosmos actually answered that like 4 posts up. -

I'm guessing it's the second that you are after. -
The fighting pool synergies were for just owning the other powers.
Examples: Boxing gets 15% damage buff if you own Kick. Boxing gets 15% damage buff if you own Cross Punch.
This was talked about clearly in the Twitch stream. The video is still available (7/11/12, 17:42 into video).
Oh, and owning them gives Brawl some debuffs.
edit: Cross Punch gives the user a recharge & accuracy buff when used if you own boxing and/or kick or more buff if you own both. -
Quote:After a year of exclusivity, items such as Wisp and Dark Matter that people missed should be purchasable.
Two years later, earnable in-game.
What? Give it up for free?!! Yes, cause the train of exclusive items can relatively easily keep popping up fortnightly becoming a gravy train.Quote:I've been here for a long time. I've picked up lots of exclusive stuff over the years. And I agree with this 100%.Quote:Keep it exclusive for a while, then put stuff on the market. Maybe a year +?
Puts more funds into Paragons pockets, which in turn allows them to make more stuff.
What's wrong with that? Sounds like a win-win proposition.
I'll jump in with this side. I've been here since pre-launch. Period of exclusivity, period of For Sale, then acquirable in game.
That works perfectly fine by me. -
2. Yeah, lotsa folks go SLEN on electric. Shoulda mentioned that as a possible path.
3. Yes, any pool power will cause redraw. You want to avoid any attack (except Brawl) outside of TW attacks.
5. They are for the most part. Many fire and cold attacks have a smashing/lethal component, too.
6. Each and every attack has a defined set of vectors. Your highest defense versus any of those vectors is used. Most attacks have one positional vector and 1-2 typed vectors. There are exceptions, such as Dominate/Mesmerize being Psi vector only. -
Here is another template to give you some more ideas to work from:
Code:The empty slots in the attacks can be filled as you please. Frankenslotting could work very well, or purples if you can afford them. I made the IOs level 33 for exemplaring, but the stats would be better at 50 if you used all level 50 if you don't exemplar any.
Between Power Sink and the end discount from Energize, Conserve Power is largely redundant. A single slotted FA gives you ~86% resistance to ToHit debuffs. It can be nice to turn on in high debuff situations. Hence, why I put it in but left it off. -

Be sure to turn off Force Feedback to see your more common recharge. As the other poster mentioned, slotting the FF set is bad.
You accuracy and damage in attacks is bad, especially acc versus plus level foes. Lightning Field needs Acc badly.
If you can't reach a build you like with 32.5%, you could do what I do instead. Go for 20% to all vectors and carry medium purples. They are very cheap on the market (you can buy stacks of 10 and have one market slot storing 10).
I'll see if I can work on posting something that incorporates what I think you need to improve. It'll be in the morning, though.
edit: LBE will cause you to redraw. I wouldn't suggest using it with TW. -
Quote:The Awakened have a Lt. that gives a large AoE +40% To-hit buff.(I think they need to make a pass over First Ward enemies, those tentacle girls are horrendous!)
That means soft-capped SR have 5% defense (aka no defense).
That means anyone with no defense get hit 90% of the time.
I've complained about that before:

edit: PS, this still needs to be fixed. -
Quote:Well, in my haste, I was trying to use the rule #1 (via the link) where enhance values 20% or less are unaffected by exemplaring down to level 21.Just one question, though: why are some IOs level 25 while others are 15?
However, a 42% enhancement at level 24 would be cut to ~29% and would be slightly better than what I put in.
I'm used to building exemplar builds that go down a bit further, so that was a mistake. -
Ok, make sure you are familiar with the stuff covered here:
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Exemplar...n_Enhancements
Now then, here's an example build set to work down to level 24 keeping the set bonuses and keeping that exemplar effect on enhancements in mind. It isn't perfect, but it should help get you started.

Quote:Actually the way he said it was unclear, I'd wait for text confirmation. Because it SOUNDS like he said the T4 would require 1 power pick and the T5 would require 2, which falls in line with the travel pool changes. It's just he said '1 or 2' in there and it's unclear if he meant 1 or 2 powers or T1/T2.
What he described is the exact way APP/PPPs work.
You may choose one of power 1 or 2. (I'll assume you choose #1.)
Now, powers 3 and 4 are available to choose.
You may choose one of power 2, 3, or 4. Thus, you now have taken two powers from the pool.
Now, power 5 is available to choose. -
It doesn't use the flurry animation. It uses the Sweeping Cross (StJ) animation. They showed it.

Thanks for the update!
Issues still present:
TWs attacks (except FT and WS) don't show enhancement values in the Enhance tab.
Musculature still boosts the damage resist of the Tanker ATO proc. -
Quote:New "Other Ranged Blast Set Change": NO CRASH NUKES! Normalized recharge:damage ratio for all 'crash' Tier 9 blast powers. "Slight decrease on max potential damage, but good amount of consistent damage increase. No more chance-for-damage, all nukes are now a consistent number. 50% faster recharge for PBAoE nukes, 75% faster recharge for Targeted AoE Nukes."
You have the ranged nukes at 75% faster. I'm not sure if that's what he meant. I thought he meant the pbaoe nukes were at ~50% of the current recharge and the ranged nukes were at ~75% of the current recharge. -
The patch on Test (today?) has the Overwhelming Force set showing up in the Attuned section under Universal Damage sets.
So, it looks like the fix for this set making it Attunded properly and making it tradeable on Wentworth's is coming shortly. -
Mouse over and right-click on the enhancement you want to +. Mouse over the correct enhancement in the pop-up window (only necessary for visually seeing the +s added). Click the + button (next to backspace key) to add and click the - button (next to + key) to remove.

I'm sorry if my post came off as condescending. That tone was in no way intended.
I've been called many things, but this is the first time "derpbag" was used. I guess that's interesting. -
Since neither will ever be used for any reason, which you pick to slot is not relevant at all.
