Sorry guys, I know this will disappoint many people, but I'm trying to make this as sustainable as possible.
Shame. I just wanted to say goodbye to Justice *on* Justice. I paid for eight solid years, let my sub lapse for about a month, and then this happened. Awesome timing.
  2. Edit - was just made aware that I *have* to vote for two. So my #1 still stands:

Liz. Hands down. That's gorgeous on so many levels, and I would buy a print of it in a heartbeat.

    My #2 is Tartyrsause

I'm now forever locked out of my SG base... I wasn't ready!
Free and Premium players can't pay rent, despite veteran status or rank in your SG.

That is a perfect illustration why the hybrid model was dumb and hurt the game more than anything.

DnD did the same thing when they came out with 4th ed. They stopped ALL pdf sales of their old material.
Have you seen the numbers for GW2? They certainly didn't need to push people to play it.

    Goodbye Justice

Sorry for posting this here, but I can't post it on Justice. I don't know why they just didn't flip the VIP switch for everyone so everyone could play out the last days with full access. But I digress.

Though I had already said my goodbyes to City of Heroes back in July, I was comforted in the knowledge that I could come back and play anytime I wanted, and that all my favorite characters that I spent time carefully crafting and developing over the years would still be there. Today's news makes me sad knowing that now that isn't the case. All of my creations, and the creations of people I care about, will just be gone. Unceremoniously deleted. I think that sucks.

I owe a lot to City of Heroes. It was a solace and place of comfort for me when I was going through a very rocky marriage and divorce. I spent many hours on Justice with you all, teaming, raiding, shootin' the ****. You were never just pixels on my screen. Never just people who lived in my computer.

I have many great friends I met through CoH. We keep in touch frequently and even visit each other. When my brother, who is also a CoH player, suffered from a ruptured aneurysm last summer, he received so many get well cards and gifts from CoH players. I still have people asking me how he is doing, and I can happily say he's fully recovered and doing quite well.

Most importantly, playing City of Heroes caused me to meet Abraxxus, my boyfriend of the last two years. He is quietly sleeping not 10 feet from me right now (and between us, he's also snoring a bit and it's kinda cute). Though we were friends for many years in game, it wasn't until we met in person at the first HeroCon in 2008 that something romantic clicked. I was newly divorced, however, and didn't act on those feelings for another two years. And now we're very much in love and plan on spending the rest of our lives together, all because of City of Heroes, and Justice in particular.

If any of you want to keep in touch, e-mail me at arwen.darkblade@gmail.com.

My baby brother (not the one mentioned above) is getting married tomorrow. He's currently home on leave from the Coast Guard to do so, and in honor of that, I will leave you with the parting I always give him when he goes back to his cutter:

    Fair winds and following seas.

Love you all. It was an honor.

    To all of you...

I didn't know you well, Zwill, as I had stopped using the forums a while before you came along, but I will never forget what you did for Lucas and the rest of the Justice server. Thank you, and safe travels.

    Peace
I may or may not have been watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back when I made my initial post.

I may pop in from time to time, but I won't be playing like before. I also don't think I'll be able to read or post here anymore? Not sure.

I appreciate everyone's kind words and well wishes.

    Goodbye Horses

At the end of this month, my VIP account expires and I do not plan to renew it. I think it is time for me to move on to other things and to say goodbye to all of you.

It has been a great ride, and I honestly didn't expect to still be here 8 years after I logged on for the first time. I have met a lot of fantastic people, made friends, and even fell in love. I've had fun leading raids, trials, TFs, my SG. But now it's time to go.

I truly value the time I have spent here. I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of people to fight/cause crime with.

    Take care.

I could definitely get behind this. I would gladly devote more time to seriously beta testing and fixing errors in return for points. This system works well for Live Mocha, a language learning site that I've been using to brush up on my Spanish, French, and German. I trade my time correcting homework and tests for people learning English in exchange for the advanced lessons in the languages I'm studying. Normally the advanced lessons cost real money, but you can earn coins by helping others learn, and as such I haven't spent a dime.

I think a system like this would work very well here.
  10. So you're running a mothership raid? Or an LGTF marathon? Or are you giving the Rikti chicken pox, again?

Thank you for confirming this! I somewhat remember now that someone mentioned the Vanguard program, but back then I was buying yearly subs and didn't think about it.
  12. My VIP account expired last night, and I renewed it this morning. It was about 12 hours difference from the time stamp on the e-mail notices I received.

Since we're in the middle of a loyalty program, do I no longer qualify for it? Is there a grace period for something like this?
  13. I like that we had our Fus on the same team

  15. So how did everyone fare this double XP weekend? I did pretty well:

Foo Fu - Nin/Nin Stalker - 35 to 37 (only ran a Renault with her)
    Vespertine Dream - Dark/Dark Controller - 21 to 44
    Planchette Noir - Illusion/Dark Controller - 2 to 29
    L'appel du Vide - Dark/Dark Blaster - 24 to 28 (only ran a Moonfire with her)

I also got to spend time with good friends, having a lot of fun. Two of my SG mates came back for the event, and it was really great to get to team with them again.
  16. This is actually a useful thread to raise. People are still having trouble finding iTrials.
  17. I remember you Sin! Welcome back!

I wish I had seen this before I went to bed. I want an SoA on Hero side.
  19. I will actually be home for this tonight. Just need to decide which Tanker to bring.
  20. Congrats TA! I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Heather's, Praetor Duncan's, and Dream Doctor's arcs all have Detective Hop in them.
  23. Justice was just about to start a Hami raid. We were buffing.
