What comic book movies would YOU make?

If you had the power to put a comic book character or series into production as a movie, which one would you do? I'm always curious to see what people would come up with as opposed to the "big names" that have already been made or are being made.

Here's just a short list from me, grabbing some minor DC comics characters than I think would be fun to see on the big screen.

1- Adam Strange- Done right, as kind of a retro-ish homage to the old space opera, Buck Rodgers and Flash Gordon type stories, this could be a very fun movie to do. Bold, rugged Earth man caught in a mysterious beam that transports him to a wild alien world, but with a sterile and stagnant culture.

2- Blue Beetle- One of my all-time favorite characters, in all three iterations. Maybe make a trilogy out of it. Touch a little on Dan Garrett, then get right to Ted Kord, maybe throw in a little Booster Gold for kicks, and leave the door open to introduce Jaime Reyes as well.

3- Hawkman- Would love to do a three movie deal with this. First movie introduces Prince Khufu and Chay-ara, moves up to their being Hawkman and Hawkgirl in the 20th century. Second movie would basically be Tim Truman's Hawkworld mini-series introducing Katar Hol and Shayera Thal. Third movie would bring the Thanagarian Hawks to earth to meet the originals and kick some butts. I would so love to see the Hawk's done right with killer special effects, as they easily some of the most visually striking characters in comics.

4- New Gods- Hit this one in another trilogy. Introduce Apokolips and New Genesis, show their war in full bloom before Uxas became Darkseid and Izaya became Highfather. Cover their eventually "truce" and the trading of their sons, then go into Mister Miracle's rebellion, and Orion's war against his father. Make it vast and epic and Kirbyesque.

5- Sandman- Do something very noirish with the Sandman Mystery Theatre stories. Wesley Dodds' Sandman would be so cool to see done on screen, with the mask, the suit, the fedora, the gas gun, all set back in the 40s and 50s.

6- Shazam- I would do a big screen adaptation of Jerry Ordway's Power of Shazam graphic novel in a heartbeat. You get young innocent Billy Batson transformed into the mighty Captain Marvel. You've got both Dr. Sivana and Black Adam as villains. It would kick ***!

Those are just some of mine off the top of my head. Let's hear yours!

Wolverine. Hard-R rating for 'torture porn'-esque levels of violence and because he beds every hot woman he comes across. He's the vigilante lovechild of a woodchipper and the energizer bunny, he should definitely **** some **** up.

Power Pack - I'd get Pixar on this to give it the "family-friendly yet fun for all ages" treatment.

The Craptacular B-Sides - I think I may be the only one who's ever read this mini. The ultimate loser superhero team, I'd kinda like to follow the comic pretty closely, but it might be better to do an original adventure taking place afterward. Maybe something to do with the absent Feeva.

Not a comic but....

Freakazoid - Because..... well..... FREAKAZOID!!!

Sandman-- Neil Gaiman's sandman, of the Endless. In an animated epic.

T.H.U.N.D.E.R Agents-- A live action series of films, each movie would focus on a different agent.

Invincible-- I think it would be a great film, done live action with mind blowing effects, of course.

Kingdom Come-- A fully animated epic, would probably end up being at least 2-3 hours in length.

Ambush Bug-- Animated. The adventures of Ambush Bug in the DC universe.

Resurrection Man-- an obscure but very cool DC character. A live action film with amazing effects.

Suicide Squad-- DC comics series, it would be done as a series of live action movies.

Confirmed altaholic with 70+ alts in coh and cov...yes i know thats alot! Playing coh since beta test phase.

Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. - Animated, because there's no way we'd get a budgeted live-action flick with that much awesome.

Starman - Live-action TV series with a set number of seasons, ala Lost or the like.

Flash - TV series. C'mon. It's Smallville meets CSI. No-brainer, Hollywood.

Back around 1980 or so, Elliot S! Maggin wrote a Superman novel (an actual all-words novel) called Miracle Monday. Best Superman story ever, IMO. I'd really like to see a film version of that.

I thought I was the only person in the world that remembered that book...

As for what I'd like to see made into a movie? Damage Control.

If I ever make any comic book or video game product (things are in the works), I hope to all mighty that someone (perhaps not Uwe Boll) in Hollywood wants to pay me to make it into a movie. Screw the haters that want to rob me of this.

As for what superhero movie I would make if I had that power...well City of Heroes of course.

Oracle & Batgirl - Cause Barbara Gordon rocks and you could use Cassandra Cain as a former assassin trying to reform as Batgirl.

Robin - Tim Drake as Robin. Enough said.

The Runaways - The super powered teenagers with villains for parents makes them unique enough to stand against the Teen Titans.

The Thunderbolts - Because having the Masters of Evil pretend to be superheroes is awesome.

X-23 & Daken - Both of them are a lot like Wolverine, but they are also different enough that you can write stories with them that you couldn't with Wolverine.

Young Avengers - Patriot & Hawkeye's chemistry would be enough to carry it but I'd leave out the Scarlet Witch's children just cause that would be going into the whole Decimation stuff. I would, however, keep their formation set in a world where unregistered superheroes are being arrested by the government sponsored teams.

Punisher: the Dolph version was garbage and Punisher Warzone did worse then Howard the Duck. The Tom Jane one was ok. Get a viable script, see if Jane wants to return or else cast someone new, give it the rated R rating since it IS the Punisher and this time make the movie RIGHT.

ROM: Spaceknight

Wolverine: only if I could get it rated R as it should be, sorry kiddies but Wolverine is a killer at times and those shiny claws aint for show.

Captain Marvel-Shazam: this is a movie that is dying to be made, and if done properly could give Superman a run for his money, something that DC should consider given all the Superman lawsuit struggles going on.

Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell): if Marvel won't bring him back in the comics, let's at least get a movie going. Maybe have a scene in a military base and on a shelf is a cannister of the Compound 13 nerve gas as a subtle joke. If done right this movie could set up a sequel where he faces THANOS. For the first movie it'd be Yon-Rogg and a Kree Sentry for the foes, start him with white hair and then for the sequel he gains the cosmic awareness and blonde hair remake.

Adam Warlock: as much as I'm sick of the Warlock/Magus stories in the comic, Starlin's original Warlock/Magus story could make a good movie and could also bring in THANOS.

NOVA (Richard Ryder): first movie he gets his powers, sequel brings in the Nova Corps.

Batman Beyond: time for a live action movie.

Oh, and isn't trying waaaaaay too hard to make the Flash out to be Batman.

In all seriousness, I actually do own the DVD box set of the old Flash series. I just think it's due for a new incarnation with the resurgance of superheroes in Hollywood and the popularity of crime procedurals/dramas on TV.

For a fun bit of stunt casting, I'd throw in John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick!

I always wondered why the more mature comics where never done.. Those that can be popular by people who never touched a comic in their life.

* Moon Knight (he, its a Marvel version of Batman)

* The Demon, Etrigan

- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

Not only that, but unlike Batman, Moon Knight is actually insane.
