Crazy long loading time...

Yeah, still happening to me. The load time is brutal. This can't be WAI. It's gotten to the point that I start loading and walk away from the computer for 10 minutes or so. Totally ridiculous. If it makes any difference, it seems to peg one CPU core as well.
The long loading time continues after the hotfix for me... it seems perhaps a little shorter but not much.
68 Level 50s, all made the old-fashioned way.
Original: Quasar Lad - Fire/Kin troller. Latest: Asp Kicker - Grav/Poison troller.
Completed the "Full Alty Challenge" - level 50 in every archetype, and "Alty's Ultimate Power Challenge" - level 50 in every available powerset in the game.

It's happening to me as well. Also on multiple computers with completely different hardware.

Happening for me too on my laptop with ATI card (only PC to test). I'm glad it wasn't just a handful but many players, hopefully it will be fixed asap. And yes it started on launchday for the i19 strikepack for me too.

I'm also having this problem. In addition I thought the character textures seemed a little slower to load. At first I thought maybe some game (cough Magicka) had messed with my drivers or something and that rebooting would fix the problem.
Nope.
And then to add injury to insult, shortly after FINALLY getting in the game, my computer hard froze (Didn't even get a BSOD to diagnose it with.) Graphics kind of messed up in a way that is hard to describe, kind of like a bunch of spotted.. diagonally arranged.. things. Couldn't take a screenshot obviously.
Having this happen right after the patch is too much of a coincidence.

I don't have that secondpart myself, but for technical people I've learned that's called "screen tearing", it's usually from an overheating or dying graphicscard I think, I don't remember.

Signficantly longer loading times for me as well, although my previous wait from loading to login screen was mere seconds (ssd).
Using console, everything flies until it gets to a particular line.

Thank the gods, I thought I was the only one! Up to three minutes for a zone to load, sometimes I drop to login screen during that.
Today I chose a toon who's location was left in TI, dropped to the login screen twice before letting me in.
Mostly on VIRTUE now...global name's VEGAS

ME as well. Nvidia card, no new drivers installed in the past month or so.

I used to have a similar problem. I found that doing a defrag before first logging into the game after the new patch/update made all the difference. (I use Defraggler, and noticed the CoH files get really borked.) Hope this helps someone.
�Many things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done.� It's not fragmentation for me. I get long load times even when loading from ramdisk.
Same problem as everyone else here. Win7 x64, 6GB RAM, 2x 7200rpm raid 1 disks, 0% fragmentation etc.
I think NCSOFT is downloading our mail and pictures while we wait. :P

Yeah loading coh takes forever after the patch.
crazy long load times for me as well, and numerous crashes while playing since the last issue.

My load times when first logging into the game are insanely long. Every other load screen (into missions, character select) goes by super fast though.
If you're still encountering this issue, please submit a /petition to our Tech support team with the following info:
- OS,
- memory,
- processor,
- video card (driver version),
- region (NA/EU) server,
- when this started,
- in game zone if possible
Hopefully we can pinpoint the source of this issue quickly with your help!

I actually thought my computer had suddenly gotten well to put it simply . . . boom . . . . Been happening about a week now for me and like everybody in here its the time it takes to get from the launcher to the login screen.
Its not the full screen thats taking ages either, its when you get only the LOADING words across your screen before the login screen that takes forever. Soon as the login comes up everything is fine and even logging out to the login screen/character selection is normal.
Am glad its not my computer suddenly going boom though. Not sure if its usefull but i've only been using the EU version Av. No idea if the EU/NA launcher uses different things or whatever but if it does then its obviously the latest patch

The time to load the game has been getting longer with every patch.
I defragment the game files after each update, but it still takes a very long time for the updater to bring the game up to the login screen.
And this is running Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate on a quad core Intel with eight gigs of RAM and an egva GTX 460.
This is a separate issue from the other problem I have, which is server-side instanced mission map corruption that causes an instant disconnect from the mapserver.
Not just you, having the same problems. Did come up, just took a couple of minutes.
