Thread necro!
Got this working except for one minor detail, and that is the problem with invisible power selection buttons. I can mouse over and see their descriptions, and select them, but they're invisible. Once selected I can slot and place enhancements, view totals etc so it's nearly working.
Anyone got mids working properly on Mac? I'm running OSX Lion btw. -
Quote:We've been secretely preparing for this moment for years now, and finally the time has come. Come one, come all, come on in and let's show them how it's supposed to be done (and where the history comes from.Server merge!!
LOVE it
The EU players can FINALLY show how great we are!
Well done on slagging off a WHOLE cummunity of players. Here's hoping you stay in your little corner of the world and don't make any alts on OUR servers.
Oh wait, I doubt you will as it's CLEARLY a dead place to be.
Bring on the zombies I say :P)
Here's a few swedish letters to distract the americans while we take over the servers: åäö!
j/k, but this is seriously exciting news. It's gonna be great to have a few more ppl online during the times I play as well. -
Obviously bidding is not fool proof.
I have a bid placed on microfilament exposure lvl 50 @150m, and have had so since yesterday. I've been keeping my eyes on the bid and have seen the bids go by during the day, and now I saw that one sold for less than I'm bidding.
I don't buy explanations about lag when we're talking hours and several logins/outs, and I also checked to see that I got the "you bid 150m on.." in the chatlog.

I thought I only had the long loading issue and not the crashing like some others had reported until I logged on one of my oldest toons and he continues to crash the game every single time I open the contact list.
-
Same problem as everyone else here. Win7 x64, 6GB RAM, 2x 7200rpm raid 1 disks, 0% fragmentation etc.
I think NCSOFT is downloading our mail and pictures while we wait. :P -
Good for you! One should try to not stay too long at any job, it's just not good for your skills or mental health (everything becomes a grind sooner or later).
Sorry to see you go tho, I think I liked you. -

...and BaB's sure is one to miss, but noone seem to notice that Jay appears to have gone missing as well?

Yeah, and that's because I brainfarted...
/macro SHHH "petsayall <em drinkenriche>" will probably work better. Currently at work, so I can't check myself tho. -
Quote:Sidenote: petsay binds with emotes no longer work. A macro will tho.No solution in this post Im afraid; just opinion.
But I did want to mention that I personally have never had any problem with suicidal pets. Im using Demon Summoning, but on the principle that basic subroutines work the same across all pet types (which they probably dont), Im not sure why thered be such difficulty in controlling them.
For random reference, I consult my Master Freeze bind:
Pets stop moving, move into a passive state so they neither defend nor attack anything, cross their arms (so they dont yell, roar, and gargle noisily all the time), and I give a gentle and encouraging reminder to stay that way via a brief emote.
As for an Immobilize effect, you already mentioned the potential combat unbalancing flaw of having such an effect in place, so I wont jabber bout that. Got to ask though--do all your pets have suicidal tendencies all the time? Its just Ive never seen any case of self-aware Henchmen going about disregarding a solid Passive order. -
You can buff your pets without breaking the emote, and I have spent 20 minutes at WW without breaking the emote.
But yeah, only as long as the emote is running, which it will until you move the pets or are attacked. -
...and a screaming sword of fire? Yeah, that is cool.... Keep telling yourself that.

Quote:A dead brute builds no fury, and you still build fury by you attacking them too.No, Stone Melee causes alot of Knockdown/Disorient, which means the foe isn't attacking you and building fury. Same with Super Strength. What makes a brute a Brute is fury, after all.
Fire Melee is damage and nothing but, meaning it is perfect for a Brute, it slaughters enemies, and lets you build fury the fastest.
...and there's no SMASH! in FWOOOSH!
(my first brute was a lvl 50 fire/stone)
Fire, sure the damage is very nice, but it's not brutish, it's more blasterish. -
This one's easy:
Stone Melee/Will Power.
Stone Melee because it makes the earth shatter and goes BOOM! all day long (and adds the mitigation WP needs to keep up with the heals when in over your head, as brutes should be all the time). Stone melee vs SS? You need rage for SS to keep up with SM's damage output, but there's no crash in SM. Footstomp is good enough fun that I could have a powerset with nothing but and still be happy with it.
Will Power because it feeds on enemies. More enemies, more fun, more english soccer hooligan on dope. It's also great because of quick recovery that helps stone melee excel. -

... give them a bottle of Enriche. They'll be calm, docile and quiet.

..oh, and just to add to all the other thoughts about how good DM is when you understand how it plays;
I have a dark defender that when on 8 man teams usually get the "pull and herd" role. Basically that means I run into the next room with Super Speed and shadow fall (invisible), target a nice anchor that I know will run through most groups on the way back and while running past hit him with darkest night (the toggle debuff).
Once back to with the rest of the team, I cut the corner, drop tar patch and serv my team a tightly packed, huge bunch of foes that can't hit, move real slow and drop like flies. Tank grabs aggro, team mauls and as soon as less than 17 baddies are aggroed to me, more start to drop in, so we stand and fight a non-stop, looong and epic fight.
Having many different AT's at 50, I know there are lots of them that can do the same, but my dark defender is only 30 and absolutely excels in keeping the team alive and serving neutered mobs... -

Quote:What's the range and frequency of this "auto-hit pulse"?Will of the Earth
Evil, evil object.
Basically, it has a chance of spawning enemies based on the number of enemies hit by an auto-hit pulse. Difficulty settings don't much matter, since they are spawned via the powers system rather than the standard spawn system.
There are tactics you can use to minimize its effects, and, due to the nature of it's powers, Masterminds, Dominators and Controllers are at a bit of a disadvantage. -
Quote:Nope, but I'd rather see the development time put into making the use of shadows not completely obliterate my framerate. That's probably not an easy feat tho, so I'd settle and be happy with new, crisp textures.Would you really use the legacy asset w/ older, blurrier texture if a cleaner, sharper version was available to you?
...and please add the mastermind bots to the "new texture asap!" list. -
Quote:This is an advice I'm behind 100%. Dark's -tohit is the best feature of the entire toolbox and should be slotted+stacked as much as possible. Tarpatch's -res, slow, all the stacked -tohit and a howling twilight must be borderline exploit. Also, slot at least one -tohit SO in that power when you can; Fearsome Stare's degradation of the enemy's accuracy helps a lot.

Quote:As long as your pets are within range of supremacy and you didn't order the attack, you're in bodyguard mode.I guess that mostly leaves one question: if my bots ARE on def-follow, and they run off to kill something that is aggroing - does that break the body guard? I get the impression from your posts that bodyguard works even if the pets engage.
Mac
That's pretty much the beauty of it all. Set your pets to goto/defensive, place them out of harms way and use a single target ranged attack on the boss, then you let out a "moahahahaa" when your pets tear him/her/it apart with a serious alpha strike because he fought back at you. -
Anything but goto/defensive and follow/defensive breaks bodyguard.
Running around as a tight cluster with your pets is usually bad since any AoE attacks will hit you and the pets and the pets will then add your bodyguard damage as well to theirs.
To tank as a MM you need to bind something like this '/bind g "petcomall goto defensive"' and place them within supremacy range (check the gray power icon on your pet list), but out of reach for the incoming attacks. Then you aggro, preferrably with some sort of debuffs as that doubles up as aggro magnet and making it easier for you to be the survivor.
Position and tactics are your main skills as an MM. Play battle chess and prosper!
Bots hate fire. They are probably made of cardboard box and melt easily.
Boss-Bot @32 is awesome, and the rest of the bots is great as well post-32. Bots <32 not so much. (personal opinion)
