Crazy long loading time...

Takes ages to log on. Also takes ages to zone. I haven't done anything to my computer. I thought it was me and needed to defrag, or something was about to blow up. Am sooooooo relieved to see this is a known issue.

Is this related to all the crashes of late? Have been running the WTF (so silly they changed the acronym - this one is far more amusing) to the exclusion of everything else, really (er, lots of 50's) and someone is crashing on every TF, sometimes multiple times.

Well I just went out a bought a Dell Inspiron off the shelf at Wally world and was blown away by the increase in performance.

The long loading time doesn't exist on my new machine. The loading bar is on screen for all of 3 seconds now.

However, if I try my Friends 1 year old Laptop (That can run STO without issue) he has the same 10 minute loading bar.

Also, my old computer still has the same issue.

Makes me wonder if it's a driver issue.

The game took maybe 20 seconds to go from hitting Next on the Updater, to the login before the 19.5 update. This issue is, the issue A lot of people are complaining about long load times since 19.5 hit.



We'll see....

Thank you, we have just upgraded to Fibre Optic internet. We were on a 2 MB connection and now its 35MB plus. I was beginning to think it wasn't working.

Yeah, I no longer have time to make dinner while waiting for the game to load. The wife is on her own again.

I updated the drivers to my video card and I've noticed a slight improvement in zone loading times; I haven't been through a drop to the login screen since too.

But that's only half my problem...in game I still get crazy lag and general interface slowness. I fly through Cap or Talos at about 10-15 FPS during peak times. Would a new computer be the solution?

I have ALL my GFX settings turned down to their lowest.

Mostly on VIRTUE now...global name's VEGAS

Well I am still having long loading times
I also have the problem in Character Selection.... slow to load costume textures, aura's etc
however after about 3 mins it is fine

Hope an update soon will fix the problem, I just wanna play and its putting me off
