I very much enjoyed Justice League and all but what boundaries did they push? Particularly in their first season?

Honestly the first season episodes of justice league were so so at times. Which seems lets compare a show heights , which had 2 series tied to it prior to a show just starting. Bruce Timm was in high gear by time justice league unlimited rolled around.

I don't agree with Mr Butane's assessment at all. I really felt the energy of the characters when I watched it. My inner 6 year old was quite pleased with all this.(such as Gravitron saying he's strongest of all...like that's a putting up a signal in the sky for the Hulk to appear and kick your butt heh.) As a long time avengers/marvel fan I knew the beats they were trying to hit, but wasn't always sure how they'd hit them.(this time having the magical creatures tied to the nazis/hydra instead of aliens like the ultimate avengers cartoon.) If you have previous knowledge of things your brain fills in the blanks, if you're a long time DC fan your mind probably does same for Justice league.

Certain things just were going happen as the Avengers come together, Captain America will return after being frozen from WW2 and evil will get the beating of a life time. How they got from point A to Point B is alittle different each time. They've managed take pieces from various aspects of different contuities so far. (thankfully they haven't made it a point make any of the cast into unlikeable D bags as some other versions have.)

I thnik with all micro episodes to flesh out the backgrounds for all new fans they manage to cover all important details without bogging down the main episodes with too much origin retreading. I am really happy with this series so far as one of the best marvel cartoons to date.(I even like the theme song as it's stuck in my head haha.) They do a really good job of making all character feel like they belong on the team despite the wide power differences.

My only complaint was I wasn't initally crazy about Ironman's voice actor as he was trying sound and act like RDJ/movie ironman. I guess I
d preferred someone like the actor used in Ultimate Alliance (Crispin Freedman.) over him, but he's growing on me. All cast for most part is pretty good otherwise.(which it's funny now Scott Menville
has been both definitive sidekicks Bucky and Robin heh.) Was nice see some of the actors from the other marvel projects reprise their roles for this show. (such as many from the Hulk vs movies.)

I guess anyone wants really compare this to the Timverse....wait till it's over.

They never really pushed anything until it became JLU.

Actually, the voice actor carryover in some cases makes me wonder about whether this series might technically be considered in-continuity with other shows like Spectacular Spider-Man or Wolverine and the X-Men. Would be kinda cool if it was.

We already had references to the MRD from Wolverine in the mini-eps...

But yeah, one on one usually goes pretty badly for Bats. Deathstroke is one of my all time favorite characters.
To be fair, I think Taskmaster is just a "normal" human and even though he has the abilities to do whatever he sees, it extends only as far as his physical capabilities. Like he can mimic Spider-Man's movements but he won't be able to jump as far.

Deathstroke on the other hand is enhanced.

Anywho, I thought the title was referring to Disney's takeover of Marvel in general. Didn't know there was a new show out. May need to look into it.

I love how so many people compare this show to Justice League, and say how it sucks because it's not it.

Just weighing in to give my thumbs up to this show. When I see it on my TiVo, I watch it right away, fun stuff.

ALTHOUGH, in the Taskmaster mini-series from UDON, he's actually able to move at double-speed. He can only do so for a very short time or else he risks shattering his bones. Of course, like many things in comics, this ability is never brought up again.

Of course, now they've put in this whole memory thing that really doesn't make any sense. Get him back to running his own merc agency with Sandi.

In a word yes. I am not into it like JLA, but this is a very fun program to watch. They even make the boring villians interesting . Not a perfect show, but very passable ..Especially since this is season 1.

Haven't watched it yet, but it looks ok. I actually wasn't even aware that it was out yet.

I will probably check it out, but at the moment, I am enjoying the Japanese Iron Man.

Nice to see Graviton done justice. His best appearances in the comics have always been when he's an "AV" class enemy in CoX terminology.

Of course, it does make me wish gravity/force field controllers were a little more badass....

So tonight's new episode...

The Masters of Evil. I recognized Baron Zemo, Crimson Dynamo, Abomination, Enchantress and Executioner. The glowing purple guy I didn't recognize for most of the episode, until they called him Simon.

So, was that supposed to be Wonderman?

Avengers! Assemble!
I love the theme song myself. Reminds me a bit of Masterplan. And the show has been pretty good so far despite mediocre art with an often terrible sense of perspective.

That was indeed Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man.

Dug the hell out of the strides they seem to have made toward the Kree-Skrull War storylines in the last few episodes, too. Kind of odd that they went with the Ultimate version of Captain Mar-Vell, but whatever.

Yeah.

They're their own shows. This isn't the mid 90's era of Marvel animation, either.

The opening can't hold a candle to the likes of BtAS, StAS, X-Men, and Spider-Man shows of the 90's, but it is fine. The show is packed to the brim with characters that even I have to consult wikipedia about (Mandrill actually has TWO appearances?). It also has nice allusions to "Vigilante 'Punishes' Crime" and "Secret Mutant School in Manchester?". Also, they clearly have Wolverine (Logan) in WWII fighting alongside Cap in his opening episodes.

The key animation scenes are well done, but the in-betweens make my eyes bleed. Despite that I still really like the show. It feels like an animated comic book. Whether that's good or bad YMMV.
It has a Classic Marvel feel. It was good guys versus bad guys. Old villain organisations made relevant again. No one had a specific claim on a super villain.

The Gamer's handbook to the Marvel universe animated. It has problems. Many problems, but the tight stories and characterisation tend to be good. Better than Marvel proper IMO.
No breaking a character's character to make an interesting story.

Oh and the Money shots. The money shots are damn good. Just key scenes/scenery/character angle shots with the narration. Just makes you wanna SQUEEEEEE. Especially when they do the villain montage for each of the super prisons.

I'm a full grown man and I said it makes me wanna SQUEEEEE. SMH.

I'd say it beats the hell out of the horrible 90s X-Men and Spider-man intros.

Well if they had done it 616 style they'd have to explain the whole Blue / Caucasian Kree racism stuff and that's considered taboo for what's considered a kids show.

Also, You can never go wrong with Jennifer Hale voicing Carol Danvers.

I've been finding A:EMH a very solid show.

My problem is Dis XD moved it to Sunday mornings. I just haven't bothered the set the DVR for series record mainly cause I have to share it and can't guarantee I have space.

As to Xzero's comment, your gonna see some comparisons between A:EMH and the Timverse JL/JLU series.
We're talking about each companies "Big Teams" here. The thing about JL/JLU is the overall package was solid and got better and better. Those series set a reasonably good bar to measure against. A:EMH so far is doing good and everything is gelling fine.

My one complaint up thread seems to have been cleared. There has been payoffs from several of the plot threads started from the Micro-eps and the early eps as well. I still think the overall pace is a little rushed, though.

I'll just be thrilled to get the season brick when it becomes available.

Thank you for the time...

I like it so far, and I think it compares well to the 1st season of JL. The only thing I don't like is that the wasp looks like a Japanese school girl.

It's also on at 10:30 pm on Sunday too. I've been catching the later showing because unless I've been up all night that morning showing is kind of too late/early for me to be staying/getting up just to watch it.

I'd say that this is the best Marvel animated series ever. This is the first time I've ever cared about the Avengers outside of the 2 Ultimate Avengers movies. In fact, I'd say that this is the best superhero cartoon ever aside from JLU. The fact that they made Hank Pym likable and is the first cartoon to portray MODOK correctly just shows how good the writing is. They even have story arcs built into the season and have hinted at the Kree/Skrull war and an ongoing plot with AIM. Great show and a must see for comic book lovers.

Loved the "Widow's Bite" Episode. Especially the scene of Hawkeye's shot to save Mockingbird.
