I'd like the power set that keeps the game going...can someone make that for me?
-
I guess it's more like the universe ending event, Crisis on infinite servers...only this time the universe doesn't reboot after it ends.

Unlock all stuff in the shops, let everyone have all costumes and power sets since no one will soon enough. I'd like to be able to post in any forum again since I can't upgrade back to a VIP account.

All the ancient evils will show up at the same date, and take each other out as they can't decide who will destroy the earth. New York, Paris and Tokyo will all be definitely for sure. They never survive disaster movies without some sort of damage.

Quote:It's called picking your battles. Discretion is the better part of valor as they say. You might burn bright with that attitude but you will not even burn half as long if you push the envelope too far on a constant basis. This thread likely only here because it's a holiday weekend(though sometimes the mods surpise me and let stuff go much longer than expected.), not because we're all too gutless to speak our minds. Anyone who knows my history knows I'll gladly nerdrage it up when I see fit. I say plenty of stuff around here I'm the minority on. WHile I've been busy and laying low, I'm sure I'll find something to tear apart in not too distant future. (Nolan has a movie project due out in a few months muhahaha.)Need to learn to say what you think without fear of censorship. Being controlled by the thought police will make you crazy. It does not matter really. Only one who would get flak from this thread is me cause the thread pushes the envelope. You saying something now would be like throwing a lit match into a forest fire.
You want to believe it's all about being too PC around here and not because we like to conduct ourselves in a manner that maintains some level of respect while not kicking over too many hornets nest all at once that's your choice. People are expressing their views, or atleast stating they re disagreeing with getting too crazy about it. People here are not your enemy...not yet anyways.
As someone in the service you should know all about adapting to whatever rules of the place you are to survive at a given time. This no different. Running headlong into the banhammer won't make you a patriot of free speech. It make you just another poster who was shown the door. That is a completely avoidable outcome at this point.
In general you don't need wack people over head with some sort of ideal around here because if there's any truth to what you're saying you're often preaching to the choir. The people who probably really need their minds changed about whatever it is you feel are probably somewhere else. I have certain forum members that I commonly disagree with , but I respect their views(most the time heh.) and see value in their existence even if I never will feel same way they do.
This a great community I've been apart of 7 years, going on 8. So many geek and wonderful things I've learned about or seen as a direct result of running these boards. If you don't feel same way and wish to potentially toss that away thats your deal. While I've killed my share of threads I am not ready to excessively vocal with unpopular opinions that probably shouldn't be voice here in first place just to prove a point I didn't need prove. That's just me though. -

Quote:First off, did you even like Transformers before the film? If yes, what version as there's been many continuity's. If no, then may be it wasn't for you. It doesn't make any one stupid for liking it, just like I hate coffee. It doesn't make everyone who drinks it unrefined mules for liking it. It's different tastes. I know history, and been in the armed force(USAF), but sometimes I just want a movie that's fun.
This was hardly a isolated case. When serving in Iraq I had to suffer through the agony of listening to TRANSFORMER movies as soldiers would play TRANSFORMERS One and Two on their laptops. Torture by the enemy is expected, but torture by your own men? No wonder I was happy to pull guard duty. The TRANSFORMERS movies are complete messes of a film full of failed jokes, weird behavior that is intended to be funny but is not, useless characters, and no sensible plot. At their conculsion the movies make the watcher feel a sense of inadequacy as you cannot understand what the movie was trying to communicate. I only saw TRANSFORMERS 1 in the theaters and hearing the excessive moralising from a giant robot at the end of the movie was the last straw; I went to the ticket counter and demanded that I get my money back.
I like transformers because I always have. my inner 6 year old comes out in full force when I saw the trialer for first time. There's just something awesome about giant transforming robots beating crap out of each other.
Bunch of people I know liked the movies though ranging from my 50 something mom, my 70 year old coworker I borrowed my DVDs to, and 20 something Ex girlfriend who went to see Revenge of the fallen without after I showed her the first movie. My sisters kids loved it, as my nephew turned to me, and said thank you Mike for bringing me before movie was even over as he was that into it back when he was 5 for first film. I don't have to explain to them why Optimus Prime one of the greater fictional characters ever, they know and understand for themselves.
Are weak spots and thing I'd changed if I had chance. Absolutely, but as a huge fan of the Ip, even if I hated the films I couldn't deny how much it's done for the franchise. I see it as a win no matter what happens after the 3rd film. Sorry you hated the films and were surrounded by off duty. That said, you re overreactting a bit about.
(P.S. I love a good rant as much as next guy, but you went entirely too long without making enough points for all of the surplus.) -
How it should have ended seem come in two flavors. One that actually takes an idea characters could have easily done (aka plot induced stupidity) and make fun of the film for it...or they complain about a film. This seemed more complaining than actually being funny. (which alot of times they end up missing some detail that makes what they're suggesting absolutely wrong.)
-
Ok there's your powers but what kind of personality does this character have? Any details that you can give us make the process much easier. You know, like the image the name is supposed to invoke.
I'm sure there's characters out there that can alter matter, just most rarely abuse it to full potential. Firestorm, Silver Surfer, Apocalyse all come to mind. Honestly it's such a broken power as a character can literally do anything with that and enough imagination. It makes them either jobbers, always holding back for some reason, or defective in some way that they don't just liquify everyone that ever crossed them. (Such as firestorms power doesnt work on living material. Silver Surfer and Apocalyse just job alot over the years as Norin Radd used been a pacifist.)
With the ability to control basically the grand unified theory you can alter anything. Turn all air around someone into an indestructible metal cage. Turn their suit into whatever their weakness is. These sort of characters really only make sense when the story is not about beating tar out of other beings heh. They need some other sort of other conflict to go up against. -
My crazy 3 year old redhaired niece will take her down. I'm not worried heh.

Basically Transformers+ Rescue Heroes= Rescuebots. It's for wee little sparklings, so I venture guess most of us won't be watching it.

Quote:His plan was to change the past. If he wiped out all the autobots, he could always just conquested Cybertron in the past since restoring the original Megatron as the lone Cybertronian on Earth (due to fact he had his spark still.) would likely turn out badly. With no one to oppose the original Megatron he'd remained in charge of both Earth and Cybertron by time Beastwars Megatron(or 2) was born. He'd then have to defeat his namesake then for Cybertron, so by simply wiping out everyone and taking control of Cybertron in the past he'd rule both the past and present.....Last two episodes. He's got the Nemesis and is planning on blowing the Ark to smithereens. That would wipe out the original Megs body, all the other Decepticons (including Ravage and Starscream, which would make a time paradox), along with Optimus Prime.
Granted, he did still (iirc) have the original Megatron's spark in his body. But the rest of the Decepticons would be screwed.
Except for the fact he'd be screwed when Unicron showed if he blew away G1 Optimus Prime and the Matrix of Leadership. Ultimately there was entirely too much room for his plan to backfire and paradox himself out of existence. A very flawed and desperate plan...especially since he wins in his own timeline in Beast Machines anyways. (This is the set up for Beast Machines so not much of a spoiler.) -
Which Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle are you? Watch and decide for yourself.
I personally would say I'm Leonardo, as I'm always the responsible one, and put duty above myself. Raph is my runner up choice as I can see myself beign the crap stirrer and question authority a bit at times. I'm not impulsive like Mikey and terrible with machines so I'm not Don either. -
(pictures cowman's world"
"That crazed hero, Flamewar burnt half the jones district down including the school in a fight." -guy
" That punk, I can't stand that...Wait was he a filthy mutie?" - Girl
"No, he was some freak made in a lab but the guy he defeated was a filthy mutie." -Guy
"Ok, never mind then. Im ok with it long as that genejoke got what was coming ." -Girl
Right, because the ENTIRE freaking planet is this dense and short sighted?Thats hardly a good counterpoint. I'm willing to buy some nut jobs fit into the marvel scope, but given it's impossible for people tell at a glance what source a super's powers come from and the collective masses would just be fed up with them having fist fights on their front lawns after a point no matter where their powers came from.
Civil War is precisely where that train of thought would have lead you. Even in the X books the government is all about regulating them. You think weapons of any sort wouldn't be on the table as potential things they'd want to get their hands on. I mean that's what they're trying do with the hulk half the time. So your comment falls flat on it's face. You seem to have a weakness for incomprehensible stories. -

The whole we fear mutants thing doesn't work at all because they have no way of telling what origin a super powered thug who is attacking the city is on a given day. I mean there's plenty of times beings who weren't mutants did far worse things. If anything with all alien and beings from other dimensions invading they'd be ok with having freaks on their own side too.
It being a analogy for race fails long as there's supers of all types running around. True bigeots wouldn't care or know the difference between the origins and would hate all supers. Fear and ignorance is rarely so selective. Civil war is the closet instance to marvel getting this train of thought right because that's where it would go. If nothing else you'd think tehre'd be more nut jobs beign anti-whatever other origins too. (get these magic users out of here. Dang witches. Stop there from being the next hulk. Stop the mad science!)
They really want to idea to stand then the X books really should been their on universe as they re written like half the time anyways.(Which the movies and Cartoons always do.) If it's like on show Heroes...Super = Mutants, so everyone with powers is the problem. As is it falls flat on it's face. -
They irony is them trying kill me is probably what will cause their future to suck. If they'd just left me alone they wouldn't given me the proof I needed to get inspired. Ultimately I'd never trust anyone claiming this either way.
Plus if they really wanted me dead, they could just I don't know...off me as a baby or make sure my parents never took that trip to Minnesota in 1978 which I was created. If they have access to time travel and best they can do is convince me to allow my demise then they deserve whatever I did to them. Surely they'd have access to records and be able to hatch a better plan than that. I can think of several methods that I'd use if I were trying alter my own actions without needing to kill myself. If anyone really knew who they were dealing with, they'd know threatening me is probably worst way of getting what they want out of me.
This exactly what happened with Kang the Conqueror in Avengers:Earth's mightiest heroes. He saw that Captain America was the trigger for his timeline to turn to crap and tries to go back and kill him. Cap doesn't believe him and rightifully so as he defends himself along side the Avengers. There was more to the whole event than Kang saw, but he assumed just offing cap would correct the situation.
Given that I'd fight with every fiber of my being before I let someone else have the final say in whether I live or die. -
I agree. I think if he had another crack at it he'd hit a home run. Heck I'd love if they just tossed him in as Doom in one of the next Avengers films. Doom is too big of a villain to be tied down solely to F4 anyways. I liked most the cast of F4 other than Jessica Alba. She was by far the weakest link. We all know why she was there though.
-
On the upside if they did wipe out the cast we atleast wouldn't have a movie with Pidge in much of it. That I'd be ok with. Also please have the vechile Voltron in the movie too just to get blown away in the first 5 mins to show how badarse the new villain is for the film.Everyone hates that thing.

Quote:Why I say leave humanity as it is. I immediately think of the quote, "There is no aspect of the human condition that is alien to me." I feel like I understand myself better having to actually combat turning into a monster from having the darker side of life try to assert itself upon me than had I by default been incapable of ever going down that road.Interesting argument, but the most interesting thing about evil, is that sometimes it inspires others to do good to combat it.
I know what exactly has brought me to this moment. In my teen years something awful had happened(my crime alley.), and part of me truly did wish to lash out. (Magneto is right!) I asked myself why do I want to be good, is it because I fear the consequences of being evil? Is it something that I have been brought up to be, or is it something I wish to be? I decided at that moment my intiatial reasoning for being on this path didn't matter either way and I was to choosing to be good from this moment forward because it was what I wanted to be. I was master of my own destiny. Not because some super being would punish me, or some law said I couldn't be anything else.
Because of the things I felt and experienced I knew what to say to people I care about in times when they were thrown in the deep end. One of the people I care about most in this world is still alive because of the horrors I saw. If I could redo myself I'd have to let everything stand for if I was a fiber less of a man and couldn't save her I would have been devastated in ways the intial hell could never have. I would endure it all 1000 times for that.
If the world didn't have some sort of catalyst to create change the stagnation would likely be worse than crimes commited against us. We all come into this world damaged, but it's moment like I saw that cause us to admit it, and humble us.(seems like we have get our magic hammer stolen for a bit to see the big picture.) The only way for us to truly understand everything is to experience everything. I accept both the light and dark inside me. Only with them both am I whole. I refuse to let someone take that away from us. -
Can we atleast wait till the day after Thanksgiving to start putting up X-mas stuff? It's the 12 days of Christmas, not 3 months.
