I understand your concern, but IMO then is an improvement.

Don't worry too much, look at the other fun long treaded topic in this thread and you can find a fairly good power pool replacement for Fitness . Leadership, since Vengeance is effective with 1 power-slot, it can be nice to use.

Although really, best idea is to wait till it happens and run the numbers then .

If it is a Pool of "good out of the box" powers, that might resolve this whole issue.
I have a sneaking suspicion they might leave the Fitness pool in, allowing UBER-SUPER-MAX levels of recovery to those willing to make the investment...

Well put. Annoying and hard are not the same thing.

Holy smokes! You are awesome! 4/8 is "very easy" for you?

I have a couple of toons that could survive it....but "very easy"? I would say that most of my toons could not come close to competing. That's not a setting I use. Kinda cool in my eyes since that means I haven't topped out or anything. I can still make the game harder if I want.

Unless I have this wrong, aren't we talking about needing two slots total for the fitness pool? (assuming you want to 3 slot Stamina) That should be doable with frankenslotting.

Or maybe we'll be able to get more slots one of these days....

Didn't really mean to imply it wasn't an improvement. It is. It adds flexability and flavor. Also adds complexity if you want to min/max and frankenslot to get the most out of slot and power choices.

You see... funny thing is... I almost always trained fitness for on my builds for the simple fact they were good out of box powers i didn't have to slot, to SAVE slots for other powers... most builds i don't even really slot stam cause i got set bonuses that do the job. Can't do that anymore. LOL

For new guys i make, i'll just plan accordingly. For all 40 of my alts that are "done" for the most part... it'll be a pretty major "recon" for me... revised builds, new powers to explain and work into my builds, and maybe a few "throw a way" powers when i'm just stuck, and a few guys just left as is cause i don't really play them much and won't bother with the hassle.

In otherwords my issues with the change are mainly my own doing. I have very OCD like tendencys when it comes to concept, effectiveness, and throw aways powers. (it took me 3 YEARS before i'd allow my tanks/scrapper to train the fighting pool for tough and weave cause i didn't like taking a throw away power in the form or boxing and kick. It really bugged me the first few times i did it... but i'm better now... >.>)

It's *MY* issue. And I'll deal with it. Just kind of thinking, or typing out loud is all. heh.

Sounds like a great change. I do agree that some implementations would be better than others. Personally, I would would like hurdle to get a toggle. Swift is small enough to not need a toggle itself, but having taken hurdle on quit a few builds, it is noticeable. I'm sure others would also like to ignore this bonus, if just for thematic reasons. A toggle is quick and simple. I would also like to see them do a review of enhancement slot availability. Do we need more, no. But, when was the last time you actually though about three slotting your travel power to use an IO set? I though about it when issue 9 first came out. Never got around to it though. Never enough slots to waste them on my travel power.

I can think of a couple of ways to add slots that would not be too intrusive to their current balance. The first would be to add a second slot to some of the toggle powers in end' heavy power sets. This lets Castle control overall balance. The second, start giving out more slots at a lower level (ie, give out 3 starting at level 25, adding 3 total) . This way, they can add what ever number extra they felt wouldn't break the game.

ok,just one question, if they are being so nice to us, I wonder when the other shoe will drop?

In the past when they were nice to us they were off setting some nerf or neg 'adjustment"

For alts with flight, they probably 3 slotted swift also to make that 4 slots.

I think this only serves to remind folks that slotting is not uniform. I usually have Swift 1-4 slotted, depending on character, Health 3 slotted and Stamina 3 slotted. All slottings are using TO/DO/SO's until I can get them slotted with Common IO's (the higher the better). I've only got two characters with Stamina 4 slotted due to Performance Shfiter.

Your usage, and needs, will vary

And Franken-slotting is wonderful

This has already been discussed and disproved by concrete examples earlier in this thread. Stop being paranoid.

With the changes to base fly in i18, you honestly don't need to slot fly at all, or put slots in swift for fly anymore. The only reason you'd need to is if you wanted set bonuses, or perhaps to increase Hover's speed.

Need? Maybe not. Want to? Oh yes

Yeah, like with Stalkers. They took away their... uh... you know... that thing that... uh... did stuff or something, but to placate the Stalker players they gave them a fear and tohit debuff AoE in AS and increased the chance of crits the more teammates that are near you. Now they only did that because of the nerf to... uh... you know... that Stalker AT thing that was nerfed at the same time. So i really see where you're coming from.

More to the point. It's like 5-10mph from the cap, just with base fly and swift with 1 slot. So, slotting it isn't going to get you anything, again, except in the case of Hover.

so basuically i dont need to slot fligth with blessing of the zephyr (?) anymore?!?! and instead put it in hover?

I have Swift +

Currently in flight:
3 slots: Lvl 50 Blessing, lvl 50 Freebird fly, lvl 50 freebird End.

Should i move those to hover?

Note the point where I said "unless you want set bonuses." I don't know if they'd perform better in Fly or Hover. I had the freebird fly, and the fly end in fly myself, but I've just gone down to a base IO slot, to get that slot back for something else, didn't affect my speed at all, I don't have hover though.
