Heh your going to have your hands full for a while! Like 18 to 20 some odd years!
Gratz. -
I'm not afriad, i lost my mind years ago when i started working at this place, i've yet to find it, zap away. *shrug* Sides, after the day i'm currently having i'm seriously going to be wanting to kill something when i get home...
-
I'm back. For now. If anyone remembers little old me... Or i will be once i get home for work. Spend lunch hour reading up on the I20 changes and this little thing that flew under my rader you call, I19.5. It intersted me enough to fire up my account again.
Just wondering, have the glolbe channels changed at all? The still basically TW.2 and 2.1, or did they migreate up to 3, or crumble from all the drama?? <,<
So, just poking my head in and saying hi! See you guys soon. -
Quote:When i play a tank, i tend to envision myself as a classic comic book "strong" man on the team. So, i tend to prefur what i'd call high impact sets. Superstrength, Stonemelee, War Mace/Axe, stuff with a CRUNCH to it. A little shacking screen, a little knockdown... a big tud, and i'm usually happy with it. (I'm easy to please. LOL)I will say my least favorite tanker sets are ST-oriented sets. EM, SM, DM all do little to excite me, despite having decent-to-great mitigation (and my first 50 tank was a Fire/EM). Slightly different priorities for scrappers, and likely brutes too, though I still like AoE damage best.
Ice never really had that. And that's ok, different strokes for different fokes. Maybe that colors my judgment a bit. *shrug* having Shield Charge on my ice build did help... heh. -
Quote:So it's got bad ST and it's tied for 4th in AOE but isn't "low damage"?First, please see my Ice Melee guide if you think Ice Melee is really "low damage", unless you mean low ST damage, which it fully is. AoE-wise, it's actually one of the better secondaries for tankers, behind SS, Fire & Elec (possibly Mace too depending on how you play). It has of course one of the best mitigation of all tanker secondaries (Stone Melee fans often think it's the best--I think it's a tossup bet the two).
I kid, i kid. (kind of.. i'm being playful atleast. heh) It's a good set, don't get me wrong. Had alot of fun with it. But it is one of them sets that really doesn't have alot to offer other then thematic or nitch appeal to tanks. It's got low ST damage, slightly better then avg aoe, maybe the best midigation, but with some primarys, that's really a moot point.
Ice is one of them sets you take for concept or you take to stand out. -
I went with shields. For 2 reason. One being I was making "elemental" warriors wanted an Ice melee guy but hated how ice armor looked. So, Shields, with the ice shield, worked thematicly for me. Second, Shields adds +dmg and aoe to a set that's light on dmg in general.
He's 50 and tough enough to, last i checked, tank pretty much anything. I haven't played him in a long time, and he'd need an I19 respec at this point... if i get around to it... to many alts i have... -
Quote:Your anger at least is a little more justified then mine.A common emotion lately. We sorta read the rules on our pay and may have a fight for them to give it back. You want to bail out CEOs and then save money by yanking cash from your employees Uncle Sam? Really? That anger King is discussing is the feeling many have.
I won't get into what and how it is happening but it is frustrating to see the top tier get all the help in the world after they fund people to get elected, meanwhile unemployment benefits get cut like an afterthought??? The class division is getting wider and wider....I digress.
Bottomline they pulled some of our pay and so we found the "rule book" and have a solid case they were wrong. We are kinda waiting for a booth review in NFL terms. We will see what the outcome is next year or hopefully even sooner.
Thanks again for the well wishes and offers to help out. If we get on our feet with the pay I am sure we will be back.
The bummer? Work sent me on the road until next week, the hotel I am in has the worst internet speeds...so the last few days I have on our accounts are ticking awayWhen it rains it pours for my CoH woes. I was in Iraq so at least I am ******** about this instead of what I used to ***** about over there. Like "Damn...that rocket almost hit me in the port-a-potty." Yes. I almost got taken out in a plastic pooper while sitting down.
So...could be worse.Ok alot more. LOL. All things considered I have alot to be thankful for. But I am glad to hear you may be able to fight it. Again, I wish you and yours all the best.

I blame myself a little bit for falling so far behind the tech sceen and being at dells mercy. But, eh, i got lasy, got busy (40 to 50 hour work weeks) and well, here i am. But I'm also ticked at dell for being incompident. I'm just kind of mad at the world right now i guess. LOL.

Quote:Heh it was funny, I was just going to reply in a normal fashion, since you post did make a lot of serious point and not a lot of derp....but it is true. There has been a lot of crap dump in this thread, when it should be giving well wishes to Baba and Planty.
Wondered if anyone saw it before i pulled it. heh. yeah, not really the time or place for it. Had some coffee and though it over and pulled it. I was in a bit of a bad mood when i replyed, got word dell screwed the pooch and they wouldn't be able to come fix the smoldering mess of a computer i currently have... Still kind of miffed about it, but no since letting that frustration bleed through and cause someone else unneeded frustration. -
**Nevermind**
Why get drawn into a flamewar in a thread that doesn't need it? My bad. -
Quote:Possibily gave some gravity tips... if they were good i guess i got lucky.Welcome back KingSnake! Jump on in. The water's fine!
I think I remember getting some good grav controller tips from you in the forums back in the day. Glad to see so many past players returning to give the game a retry. My main is a Grav/Kin named Zero G, whom will prolly be the guy i play most when my computer gets fixed.... Or my Inv/SS tank Carbide... them are my 2 "Icon" first made heros. Haven't played them in a long while... going to be rusty.. heh
If all goes well, I'm hoping to be online sometime tonight, unless the tech finds more wrong with my system then a bad main board... *sigh* -
Quote:Last i checked it wasn't Baba's fault your friends were unemployed. Good chance they are unemployed for the same reason he and his family just got hit with a massive pay cut. My brothers unemployed ATM, and guess who got to lay him off? (Middle managment can suck some times... ok, most times... well, ok, all the time really...)All the people I know that are unemployed will trade places with you.
Baba, i hope things turn around for you soon my friend. Good Luck to you. -
Hehe. Have to admit, I liked this little movie. Not normally my thing, these fairlytale/kiddy flicks, but my kid sister wanted to see it in a bad way, and well, i had nothing else really going on.
I ended up really liking it. Love the rapid mood swings the girl had after leaving the tower, and the bandits were cool. Top notice all around. Glad she (my sister) draged me too it. (prolly wouldn't have seen it on my own. No kids and single and all. heh.) -
What's up Triumph?
Yeah yeah, who am i right? Heh. Nobody really. I'm just poping my head in to see how the servers been doing since I19 launched? I had planed to make my return to the game with I19, to play with the incarnent stuff, but, well, my computer aspoleded... and so i can't... atm. Hoping to have it fixed tomarrow, assuming the dell tech has the right parts. And show's up this time...(long story... man i wish i still knew how to do of this stuff on my own, but, I haven't been able to keep up...real life can suck... heh)
Just wondering if I19 has breated new life into my fav. Server. When i started my break, things around here had gotten pertty quiet. Hopeful i'll get to see for myself sometime this week or weekend. -
An AV Requiem *might* be able to stun through a scrappers unyealding, maybe. Don't really know forsure, haven't tryed to solo av's. Not my bag. I know i can pound the EB version of him with my scrappers and not get stunned. And nothing short of ghost widow should be able to stun a tank.

Quote:This is the...3rd time I've read a story about them doing this for a kid. And it's always cool. Not really sure if this is relevant to the forums, but I figure hero-themed, so I vote yes. It is so great that the whole city helped make this little guy's wish come true...

Quote:It must be the fact I've NEVER seen the orginal green hornet... which is... ODD for someone of my comicbook history. But it didn't look that bad to me. I'm not a Seth Rogen fan, but i don't hate him either. Will i see it in the thearter? Prolly not. It's not THAT impressive. Will I rent it? Prolly. The best part of that trailer was when Seth Rogan shot himself in the face. Too bad it was a gas gun and not a flamethrower!
This movie looks like it's going to make 'Howard The Duck' look Shakespearean by comparison!
Why did they have to mess up a perfectly good concept!
Van Williams and Jackie Chan would make a better Hornet and Kato! C'mon! -
Quote:There was a lot of comedic bits aimed at Cyrus before her recent surge towards sexuality. The Soup, for example, had a hilarious segment called "It's Miley!" At that point though, she was a tad more of a target than Hillary Duff that last big Disney TV star who was trying to make it. In recent times though her sexuality and her faux pas have driven the derision up.
She did say a lot of stupid stuff before her current sexualized phase that drove the humor (her Twitter account was full of ridiculous stuff people picked up on, she said she never heard a Jay-Z song before while she sings that she loves Jay-Z, etc.)
I remember them soup clips now that you mention it! Heh. I catch that show so randomly. I don't really actively WATCH tv anymore. It's kind of on in the background while i tinker on my computer. Other family member flip from time to time, so, when i see it, and they stop to watch it, i watch it. It's always funny.
Must of the "hate" I'm talking about stems from internet stuff, like the Demotivation and Comixed web sites i frequent at work on brakes, for a quick laugh. You know, that Meme (is that the correct term?) stuff. I don't really do "twitter" stuff. I never saw the point. And of course random hate postings on message boards, (not here so much anymore since the crackdown.) -
Quote:Cyrus did get alot, but, IMO, alot of that to me seemed self inflected, in her effort as you say to sexualize herself. I hope the little thing can get her head on stright before she pulls a Spears or Lohan. I know alot of people enjoy watching them self distruct, but I'm not one of them.Actually, Miley Cyrus does get a lot of hate, but that has died down (and been somewhat replaced by disdain over her trying to sexualize herself) now that people have moved onto the Biebs.
As to why? It's because stars like Cyrus and Bieber aren't made, they are foisted upon the audience and sold like products. While they may or may not have talent, their existance isn't to show that talent but to sell records, concerts, and anything with their name on it. They are basically commercialized products, and much more so than ones in the past, because it has become more obvious and crass.
I don't hate Bieber or Cyrus, I find their fame amusing. But I can see why people hate upon them.
The boys, just seem to have targets on there backs and for as far as i can tell, no real reason for it. *shrug* Just found it odd, but when i think back really hard, i tend to remember a boy band called the New Kids on the Block.. and i'm pretty sure i made fun of them hard back in the day... mainly to get a rise out of my sister and Ant. -
Quote:Want to know the definition of torture? I had to sit through the Justin Beiber 'movie' preview before Megamind started. There's nothing worse than a hollywoodized 'inspirational story' about a young, white, middle class 'nobody' that got picked to be Disney's new poster-child.
I got to ask. And this isn't directed so much at the guy I'm replying to, as much as it is a general question, cause, I'm honestly curious. Why the Justin Beiber hate? I've never heard his music, granted, but, even if he royaly sucks, why so much hate? It's... all over the place, and nasty at times. Even worse then the Joneas brothers, which, I didn't get either.
And why does it seem to mainly be the young guys who get beat on. I haven't seen the same level of hate for girl pop stars, heck, even BillyRays girl doesn't get as much hate as the boys do, and she's about the ONLY female young pop star i've ever seen picked on out there in the interwebs. (granted, i don't really go looking, i just stumble appone it.)
And I'm just wondering... why? -
Oh yeah... this is yet again another reminder as to why I've stopped reading comics...

Quote:I'm thinking he means the 60 month vet reward (City Traveler) which lets you pick a travel power at level 6 without prequisites.
Heh. it's NICE to have. But it isn't ALL that. I find myself taking most of the preregs in my builds anyways, cause, hasten and combat jumping are nice to have, hover, can be useful and recall friend is just convient. As for getting travel powers at 6, yeah it's sweet to have superspeed or superjump at 6, but ninja run and sprint are ALMOST as good and free. (well, you have PAY for ninja run, so it's not FREE... but doesn't cost a power... >.>)
It's a really nice perk for a vet reward. But it's hardly a must have IMO. -
Woke up with massive shoulder/neck pain... been hurting on and off all weekend, it's really bad today. Must have twicked something in the gym. (I'm just getting back into it...bah)
Outside of the pain, had to deal with an employee in my department slicing open her hand. Not a real deep cut as far as i can tell... maybe a stich or two. It's just, when someone get hurts, and bleeds... there's the whole big long process of getting first responders, and our cleaning department to "disinfect" the area... had to talk her into going to get a tetanus shot... she's a bit of a baby when it comes too needles. My logic is... you just flayed open you hand, how bad is a shot comparied to that?? *shrug*
Now I'm short handed... pun intended... so, i'll need to prolly go out on the floor and help a bit... today of all days when i can barely use my right side arm thanks to the pain in the neck and shoulder...
So yeah.. been a banner morning. Cant' wait to see how the rest of the day pans out. -
Quote:I have a few idea's as to what i'll do. Not respecing sounds good at first, but, they are introducing the incarnet system... i'm having a hard time imagianing not wanting to twick my builds when they introduce a game changing system like that... so, respecing, at least the guys i play the most, will prolly be a nessisity. And, when dealing with someone with OCD like behavor (I take Zolft, i've been diagonesed...LOL) once you do one....Squishies get Acrobatics, Melee get Weave. While those paths can benefit from additional slotting they both are useful with a single end redux as situational toggles. Those are basically going to be my default power picks.
Or you can just never respec ever again as someone said.
Not being OCD myself, I'm not sure if if either solution is tolerable to you - but at least OCD is the first argument against inherent fitness I've heard that isn't completely deranged. Kind of funny that insanity is the least insane argument presented so far...
Eh. I'll deal.
