  3. Just a quick note to say thanks for addressing my (and our) concerns about the badge(s). I think that pretty much takes care of any issues I personally had (not having been able to see the changes to the STF/LRSF myself yet, I cannot comment on them, nor do I know if the Incarnate text seems good yet, as I've not seen it) so I am pleased with this.

    While that is one definition of the term "rollback" that is not the one I (and many others probably) were referring to. In that context, I totally agree with you. What I and possibly others meant was a "rolling back" of the patch, rather than try to piecemeal fix all the issues. That is what I was referring to when I said that at least 10 times or so in the 6 years I've been playing CoH, rollbacks have been performed" These weren't the kind that cost anyone character progression (I think I've seen that maybe ONCE in CoH if that).

    Someone's head needs to be smacked around a bit at least (perhaps not "put on a pike" though..I wouldn't be opposed) for pushing this build live with the massive pile of errors it has in it.

    At the very least someone should be "on notice" should it happen again.

    It does, however I know of at least 10 times in the 6 years I've played CoH that rollbacks have occured. They've also occured for less severe issues than the ones all piled up in this mess today. I'm guessing someone somewhere in Marketing or Production was in a "push it out now, damn the consequences" kind of mood. I'd like to add my voice to those with displeasures about this choice, and suggest it would be...prudent if it didn't occur in the future, especially with...competition on the way soon.

    Not a bug, not related to CoH, is a setting in your Nvidia control panel, under the "3D Settings" menu option. (File, Edit, Desktop, 3D Settings, and Help)

    Just uncheck "Show PhysX Visual Indicator" and it'll fix that. If you have SLI there is also an option to "Show SLI Visual Indicator" which is handy to see if SLI works properly on a game (hint: it does in CoH, at least in AFR mode).

    You'll want to be out of game when you change that, when you log back in, it should be gone. Yours must've gotten flipped somehow. Sadly...it doesn't say "PhysX--GPU" the way it SHOULD...but I've already expressed my displeasure with CoH's PhysX implimentation (i.e. lack of a proper one).

    Nope. It doesn't. I mentioned this to Positron in an early-morning UStream a few months back, his response was "we'll look into that". I'm guessing that's part of why PhysX was updated but...it won't make any difference if CoH still keeps shunting all the PhysX stuff to the CPU when the card(s) can do it if it's properly configured. Tunnel Rat was just mentioning in the FX thread how hard the Physx hit was on something she wanted to do with Avatar of Hamidon, it wouldn't have been if CoH properly supported PhysX ON the Graphics Cards, and pulled the option for the old Ageia PhysX cards that you can't even find on ebay hardly anymore...

    Seriously, this needs to be worked on.
  9. Would be nice if the copy tool were fixed so some of us could test this with something beyond the Level 1 we made on Freedom for the Praetorian Invasion Event. Just saying...

As an update: Test seems to have been updated with potential Halloween Event testing, however, I can't (as I suspect few can) test it because the only character there is a level one version of my main who had evidently logged off in Galaxy. I think that's the copy I made for the Praetorian Invasion event on Freedom or something. The copy tool is still broken, so we can't copy characters over to actually test anything.

    I received my points sometime Wednesday, I had them by the time I logged in Wednesday evening, I understand not everyone got them at the same time though, but I'm just posting to let everyone know that they are, at least, being granted in some fashion. Now we'll wait and see if I get a vet token on the 18th, if so, all is good.

    I can't act or make assumptions based on information I don't know. Perhaps if you'd mentioned that I could've told you what I'm going to tell you now: open a ticket with support, or PM Zwill directly. I also had no way of knowing what you did or did not already know, I also posted that for the benifit of anyone else reading the thread who did not know that.

    Um..just to cover a niggling issue before people start believing it was true. You were never promised all your points up front, that would be an incredibly stupid business move. They had attempted to award everyone's PARAGON REWARD TOKENS all up front, but ran into technical issues. Just to make sure that stays clear to everyone, upfront PARAGON POINTS was never in the cards (nor never should've been).

    You probably will yes, that or Thursday after maint at worst.

    The cutoff may well have ended up being or will end up being either tomorrow, or Thursday after maint (i.e. anyone before then gets them then, and after then gets them whenever the date is) that would be my assumption given they planned to run this script on the 11th, which was the date originally quoted, but didn't.

    *sigh* I was not accusing *you* of getting bent out of shape. (Nor All_Hell for that matter) it was more a general statement to the thread, and/or anyone reading it not to get upset if it doesn't happen tomorrow, to wait until Thursday after maintenance. It's fine to ask about the script, but in general when scripts are run in programming (and when NC has run them in the past) the results are within seconds if not faster, so in effect it's intentanious, I would expect to see results by the time it's run tomorrow (or when maintenance ends on Thursday, whichever it turns out to be). Heck maybe it's going up tomorrow, and disbursing points on Thursday, I dunno, but once it's run, it should be largely instantanious.

    That's (likely) a bit mis-leading. The September tokens and points were awarded at launch of Freedom (VIP headstart) so you got them already, you didn't actually go 34 days. I calculated I should've had 1200 points when Freedom launched, I had 1600, I figured out it was because September's points were in that batch as well, so I quickly figured out there wasn't anything to worry about. I feel even worse cause I was 3 days from another 3 month vet reward grant when Freedom went live, so I felt a little screwed. But realizing that I'd be getting them every month instead of every 3 was a consolation. It'll all work out, they aren't screwing us out of anything, just having some..birth pains at the moment with Freedom. Still better than CoV's launch, and the massive debacle that was ED/GDN.

    I doubt they will. they might adjust the transfers, but something tells me the Reward Tokens will stay tied to the old vet date, which is your sub date, as that system's been that way since it was put in. I can deal with that..and even if the Transfers stay the 1st, that's my billing date anyway, so it's effectively the same for me :P

    Tokens SHOULD award based on your sub date and/or the same time the old vet rewards would've awarded (every 3 months back then). In my case that was June 18th 2005, and I always got mine on the 18th of the months that were multiples of 3, so I should get my October token on the 18th. Transfer tokens are the 1st, and points are billing date (except for this whole issue where if you are between the 1st and 10th then it'll be the 13th (of October) and will "slowly over the coming months" eventually line up with your billing date.

    That's pretty much what we know. So check your sub date in the NC Account manager, that should be when you get your token.

    Do we need to keep track of the phases of the moon, or do the hokey-pokey, or anything else? Is that everything? Lord this is confusing.

    The question is, we don't know if he meant that maintenance would be tomorrow, or that it would happen during maint Thursday, or if those are unconnected. But short, it'll happen either tomorrow or Thursday.

    Edit: Z just fixed his original post. He thought today was Wednesday, so he meant to say Maint. Thursday morning. So we should have our points after that.

    Edit: Um..what All-Hell said above. Is their mantenance tomorrow? or is that still Thursday morning, and if so, did you mean to say it'll be Thursday morning for points? Might wanna clarify that.
