Defense is a tricky one though, as it's a bit more prone to run into the softcap if too many people do it. Damage is a bit similar, but there's usually no danger of running into the damage buff cap without a kin on the team (and a decently large team).
And what would be the problem with teams regularly hitting defense cap? Especially if you had a bubbler/cold on the team, or people with shield running Grant Cover?

Wouldn't that result in much more powerful (and fun) teams?

Granted, hitting damage cap is always wicked fun, but I think defense cap on most teams will be even better. I can definitely see myself picking up the leadership pool on a few of my characters.

People still discussing Fitness? Old topic is old.

Let's discuss Apex, and why he looks absolutely horrible in game.

I agree with this. Apex should have the costume he has in the comic.

Damn you Cole! what have you done to primal earth!
because its the only thing we have a definite view on?

what else was announced? everything in the Q&A and was we might work on that sometime soon (TM)

all the excitement people had for i19 is now aimed at i20 since i19 looks like its going to be the same as patch 15.

and no one knows anything about i20 except that there is one so thats all speculation.

the fitness change is the only thing we really know for sure atleast until we can see a video transcript of pax and see what the devs actually said instead of an overview.

Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

I have to give the team pie for making this change to Fitness and making the 1-20 game a more enjoyable experience for me. (and many other players)

Good timing on the i19 btw

H: Blaster 50, Defender 50, Tank 50, Scrapper 50, Controller 50, PB 50, WS 50
V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster

Recall Friend, self-rez's.

Lots of options.
Most of my characters have a power or two that's either situational or looks cool but isn't as generally useful as whatever I end up taking instead....this will make space for them.

And I haven't checked it out in Mids yet, but I expect that 3 new power options will be a help in the quest to soft-cap my ar/dev for range.

Well, since you asked for it!

i19: I'm wishing that it wasn't Labor Day as there might be some rednames or official postings. Of course, then I'd be at work instead of leisurely sipping diet coke right after getting out of bed. Getting more tip missions makes me happy, I'm interested in what the Alpha content lore will be, and I'm very curious about the Task Force itself.

Mission Maps update: If there's any one thing I want to know "what does that mean?" its that!

The little tidbits on the Q&A are nice, even if I didn't hear what I wanted to hear on some subjects.

"Casual paths and new features" is something I always want to hear about since I'm primarily a long-time, casual player due to time and time-zones.

More alternate animations? I do hope its for ranged attack as well as melee ones.

Praetorian EATs? I'm surprised that hasn't devoured this thread in speculation. I figure/hope there'll be two at least - either along Loyalist and Resistance lines or Responsibility/Warden and Power/Crusader ones. I wonder if there'll be 1-50 content for them or not.

Updating old costume bits sounds great, but I'm hoping it doesn't move the bottom end of system requirements up. I wish they'd update the system requirements listed on the website - those are incredibly old and I'm not sure they're necessarily realistic for acceptable performance anymore (512m of RAM, really?).

The idea of the War Walls coming down is nothing new, but seeing them drop would be nice. I do like the Vista stuff they do in Praetoria...

The simple fact that Cross server teaming exists on a priority list makes me happy. No idea how it'd be done, mind you, but if it can be done with large scale events (Hamidon, RWZ, trials) and other things (costume contests/social events, PVP events, etc) I think this would be great. A hybrid style where we have the advantages of serverless play (play with anyone, anytime) and having servers (RP server, PVP server, busy server, quiet server, etc) would be nice. This might cause certain games (ahem) to create a minimum number of shards/instances with those designations, and add more of that type as one is filled.

Power pool stuff - expanding selection and customization - is good to hear, but the "not what I wanted to hear" category of stuff. Ah well!

Further use of Ouroboros for exploring canon is something I think a good number of people would love to see. I think its a highly underused part of the game when it comes to not only story telling but presenting challenges, trials, even task forces. What if you could, for instance, do a trial where you replay a pivotal event in COH's history? Or face some great enemy, stopping them from ever leaving their mark on Paragon or the Rogue Isles? That's to say nothing of the potential it has for telling stories of Praetoria's past!

Figuring that 75% of the current players bought Going Rogue makes me happy. I'm sure that'll go up in time. Of course, I wonder how many folks are simply only playing the non-Praetorian content? One player friend of mine is utter stuck doing tip missions and the like - he loves them to death and on chat says, "Man, I need to make a Praetorian!"

I was messing with builds, and managed to get a DP/EM to softcapped S/L with 40+% Defense to Energy and Ranged!

Fit in concept powers AND maybe make it so I don't feel like my blaster is way to squishy for the amount of damage it does! \o/

I know. I'm playing my character's glaring at the Fitness Pool like: "Yooooou.....I haaaate yooooou." Especially on my new Ninjutsu Stalker, I've already started swift, and will have to take Health here shortly. I was like "I am NOT rolling any new characters until this goes live".

Hey. New Trina looks awesome, especially compared to old Trina.

CoH players are fitness freaks!!!
Who ever would have figured!

It is really the one thing stated as on its way that we can understand fully, at this point.
So, it is somewhat understandable.

That and we're all fitness freaks. *nods*

Just to be clear, I was replying specifically to the topic of inherent Swift and/or Hurdle being a small concern. I did see people suggesting they'd ragequit due to not having more slots to fill in the new powers, hehe. If someone was doomcrying about Swift and/or Hurdle, then I did indeed miss it.

Zero worries either way.

I just feel like moving everyone's jumping height from 4 feet to 10.7 feet may be a bit wrong for this game. However, it's nothing that I can't accept, if the Devs decide they want it that way.

Sorry but Trina's new look is awful in my opinion.
Going rogue got awesome design for Nightstar, Neuron, Mother Mayhem, Marauder, Desdemona, Tyrant, Maelstrom...
Also the seers, resistance and ppd.
But most of the contacts, others NPC, syndicate, ghouls and destroyers look outdated.
They should care more about it. Like merit vendors, I bet their costumes were designed by clicking random.

By the way, I wonder if the minor update to the misison maps will be real time shadows instead of the old stencil ones, and maybe ambient occlusion too?

Oooh, great guess!
It could be! That would be great, but we'll see.
Real lighting/shadows would be sweet indoors.

I wonder...

Do you have a source for this? It makes sense and I thought this is how it'd go but I was wondering if there was official word.

I think this is a hot topic because every toon made will likely need a respec. I hate doing this because the respec system isn't the best but it's not a big deal. I have a lot of alts and I am sure it will be a complete nightmare doing a respec on all of them.

Bottom line, it's a great change and overdue. Too bad it didn't happen with GR Good work, devs!

Also, I hope the new TF isn't a bunch of old maps slammed together. I am already twitching when I keep seeing the same maps (old and new) in Prae.
