All Things Art: 'Lost' Costume Pieces
great idea! i'd rather more pieces at the cost of more clipping. more stuff lost from being 'wrong' gender would be great too but think that not as easy.
The Thigh High Boots, circa 2005, September 22, 1612 in the afternoon.
Circa 2007 November 09, 2251 What I'm seeing, is that the new boots, (if indeed those are the new ones and not my mind playing tricks) is that they are much closer to the leg at the top. Could be the higher resolution. From Live, today. I'm trying really hard to see the difference, and now I'm not sure if I'm seeing it because I want to, or someother reason, but five years of the same costume. Completely unrelated, Stepping into the Wayback machine, you used to be able to apply the leg patterns to both the thigh/tops of the pants and the boot portion This is using a grey blend on white pants, attempting to give it a dirty look. We can't apply patterns to the bottom of pants anymore. or at least I'm missing how. |
I was hoping that this was about "Lost TV Series" I really wanted a Dharma Jumpsuit
I agree with the Options. So Many Gloves are not allowed with Trenchcoats. Maybe we can get 2 Trenchcosts, normal and sleeveless like robes. Also my skull Fanged Skull Belt is no longer available with Trenchcoats.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life. Winston Churchill
Two things off the top of my head, one which may have been a glitch, one which may have never existed in the first place.
1) wrap skirt (was not named this)
I suspect this was a glitch where one of the current miniskirt patterns got twisted so the side-seams showed up in front and back instead. I didn't realize it at the time and so I thought it was an awesome wrap skirt. To me, it looks more like a real skirt than the version we have now with the seams down the sides. I would love to have this back (or a version of it), as I've had to change this toon since then, so she lost it.
2) Monstrous legs -> Briefs for male/huge. The male/huge legs allow you to use pretty much all the pants patterns on the upper thighs, but for some reason "Briefs" isn't there. No pictures, because I'm not sure if it ever existed or if it just disappeared one day, but it's an omission nonetheless.

Like you I kind of wish they would have realized that the mistake actually turned out to look cool and made that a permanent option. Oh well.

Bug that sort of falls into this category: Wings + Bolero or Cape + Bolero or Cape + Coat with Tails combos. These were in briefly. Removed for performance issues I think? Anyways, a few folks out there were able to secure their costumes before this bug was smashed, disallowing all future combos. In some cases, these combos lead to some really great costumes.
Related but more of the inverse, ever since i17 and the release of Ultra Mode, edited costumes with shields no longer shows their patterns. This comes close to killing a couple of my costumes. Luckily I have two I've not yet modified and can still keep my patterned and logo'd shield.
OK, I whipped up this re-creation of Thunderbabe's original costume using the Korean character creator. You can see the original thigh highs
They are flared, making them look like actual boots. The current version doesn't do this and is flat against the thigh, as seen here from live
Upper and Lower baggy pants. You could set the pattern on both separate with their own colors as seen here. I'm not sure witch of these are the right one from an old demo record of it has this listed:

0 1 PARTSNAME Baggy Cargo_01 Flames 00ff01 316131

However, it does look a bit different than what we used to have. What we had before is what was replaced by the current "Pants" options.

Lothic may mean a different one than mine: Yeah this was basically a glitch that got quickly corrected. It only lasted for a week or so IIRC. The texture accidentally got wrapped 90 degrees off-center so the side seams slipped to front and back. But I still have an outfit on one of my alts that never changed this happy mistake so her skirt still looks just like your pic. |

Awww, I thought this thread was about getting more hobo " The Lost" items. xD
I mentioned this in the 'All things art' thread, so apologies in advance for repeating this, but given the topic I think it fits better here.
While it is not the case of a lost costume piece, but an alteration to the upper leg area of females with certain costume pieces that I would prefer to get back to their original state. Female Bottom with Skin: Upper leg reduction Many issues ago, I believe when the skirt costume were altered/rearranged, the female > bottom with skin > upper legs area were altered (for most pieces, not all), I assume to avoid some clipping issues with skirts. This is fine if you are actually wearing a skirt, however, this 'feature' appeared in the 'bottom with skin' section since then as well. To show what I mean here is a picture (the green overlay area I added in to show the reduction with certain pieces), it is very easy to see if you switch back and forth between Bikini1 and 2 looking at the character from the side: I still hope to this day that this hideous (IMO) upper leg reduction you see with Bikini2 and many other bottom with skin pieces gets fixed. |
A while baa head detail costume piece called 'Mandible' received additional texture to make it resemble a human jawbone and lower face. I know at least one SG-mate who used the old version as part of his character's look. The untextured piece works very well as a helmet faceplate.
I know the gladiator shoulder piece was mentioned a couple of times but what would be awesome is being able to swap the shoulders of the shoulder piece. Call it gladiator - left and gladiator - right.

I know you guys are very self conscious about clipping, but sometimes it really look cool with some designs.
We used to have the ability to use the "Planet w/ leaves" skin option for kilts that gave us a pretty cool effect.
Actions speak louder than Vets.
I'm not sure if I'm losing my mind or not, but didn't there used to be a Monstrous Fur pattern under Lower Body -> Tights? During a recent character creation, I could only find Monstrous Fur under Lower Body - > Monstrous Legs. The Monstrous Fur tights option should be put back (or added if it never existed).
Also, any chance of getting the Blue Steel Shield back?
According to Paragonwiki, it existed during the I13 closed beta, but was removed for unknown reasons. It is still in the game, as it can be used by critters in Architect.
Does anyone know if the various missing ninja pack parts for huge and female were put back in?
What about secondary patterns for shields? I sure miss those but I haven't tried it in the last 2 weeks.
A picture of the old wither boots that got slimmed down. So they now look like painted on instead of leather. The old ones where much more solid.. more like real boots.
- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!
Those are awesome. I never got to see them, but yes please!
Also, I'm starting to wonder if the old thigh highs weren't intentionally melded to the legs to double as thigh high stockings. Not that that means we shouldn't have both.
Dec out.
There is this pattern called Rough Leather, which is now only available as a tight lower body option. There used to be upper body Rough Leather tights too.
I'm probably the only one that wants this back.

Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
Doing a little digging in an old pics folder I found one of the beast fur:
|
/mozzettas would be an AWESOME costume option!
Umber's Hall of Heroes & Villains
That beast fur should option rocks! That's the first time I've seen that. PLEASE bring that back, even if it's just in a Beast Super Booster.
ETA: And please make it available to all three "genders."
