Since the game is going offline forever soon, I thought I might as well talk about how I've been making inf on the markets!
Once I abandoned flipping Alchemical Silver, it took me a few days to figure out where my new niche would be. A friend of mine had the idea to start flipping certain types of common level 50 IOs. I took a look at them and kind of dabbled in what seemed to be the most lucrative ones.
The two that caught my attention the most were Endurance Reduction and Recharge Time. For a little while I set up niches in both of them, but eventually I just decided to dominate the level 50 Recharge IO market.
I memorized the recipe for this IO on all six of my level 50 characters on Virtue, so that it would only cost 216,000 inf to craft them. I sell them at 300,000 inf. At the same time, I make two bids of 10 each at 200,000 inf.
Actually, I stagger the prices when I sell them. So the first one is for 300,000, the second for 299,999, the third at 299,998 and so on.
At the same time, I logged in every alt I had on every other server, and filled their market slots with chump bids of 1 inf each, in order to inflate the apparent demand of level 50 Recharge IOs. It's the same psychological maneuver I did with Alchemical Silver. That was why the demand got to so high as it was. Actually it might still be that high because, erm... reasons!
I've been doing this for almost a year now, since I got back to playing this game in September of last year.
I almost had my level 50 characters entirely purpled out. Sigh... -

I agree about Increase Density duration, but at the same time, if you increased the duration too much you will just turn the power into something which is better (18.75% on a controller) than the resistance shield from Sonic Resonance (15% on a controller). This also doesn't take into account that you can give them grantable mez protection. It is also superior to many other -mez powers in other sets (think Clarity from Sonic) since it can be applied to many people at the same time. -

I did manage to buy one of the Halloween pieces twice when the head was offered again. I had brought the bundle, and without really thinking about it purchased the head things jig two seconds before going 'I have that'.
The my purchases was hard to work out. But NCSoft were able to better check and refund me the points without any drama. -

Well Anni isn't selling anything for real money. He asked me to get these names for him because he wanted to try out the server, and didn't end up playing there. I see nothing wrong with him exchanging something he acquired for influence.
To edit and clarify: These weren't names he stole from other people to grief them. Most of them were names he already had on different servers, he just wanted to move his characters over to Exalted to try it out and wanted the names reserved.
If anything, he's doing a courtesy to the community by making them available. He definitely doesn't need the influence but it is convenient for new alts. He could have sat on some (in my opinion) very good names for all eternity.
I agree with you that RMT for in game items is totally silly and stupid, but I can assure you that he didn't have any more bad intentions by starting this thread than anyone else who sells sought after in game items on the market board. He didn't even post an asking price for anything.
It's not a courtesy to hold onto names you don't intend on using, it's a self serving looking out for yourself kind of selfishness. Which is fine, but don't polish a turd by calling it a favour for thecommunity to do so.
True courtesy would be just releasing the names, and maybe putting them in the Exalted, name watch thread. There's a lot of people who have name camped to trade names (look at post #20 in that thread!) there, and to look for names, so OP might have more luck in that thread. -

Yes, occasionally, gender will come up in conversations. But, I can literally count the number of times, on one hand, I've had it come up for me in the 7 years I've been here.

If you get time, I would love to look at some of your builds. When I first posted there was really only one set of builds to look at in the katana/wp guide, and they didnt work with my mids.

I haven't planned the build out, it just sort of happened on the way to 50 which might explain some choices. So yeah, no clear goal.
- Kismet unique: I'll move it. I'd liked the idea of an attack buffing def and tohit whenever used which is why I first put it in. I'm thinking I may not need it anymore anyhow.
- I'll change the generic IOs, was leaving them in until I found out what would be good to exchange them. Good to know about the over slotting.
- I havent slotted hecatombs, not becasue of not wanting purples, but more that they cost a lot. long term I will most likley grab them, but after the numinas and lotgs and the rest of build. seems easy place to save a billion.
- Hasten - I am normally attacking groups so use lotus drops and flashing steel with golden dragonfly and gamblers cut to fill in spaces. Hasten helps if I need to use divine avalanche more, for longer recharge stuff like shadowmeld, and to be just more effective when its up
- shadowmeld seems to be up most mobs for when I first jump in, and i have been using it like having a purple inspiration to raise my defences. I would like not to need it. -
