What do you name your Soldiers of Arachnos?
Mercy's Bane for my pure bane spider (i.e. no wolf primary)
Diable's Shadow for my night widow
both have double meaning, but i especially like Mercy's Bane.

Huntsman Grimm. Full name Marcus Grimm, fwiw. Just a slight twist on "The Grim Huntsman."
Character is sort of a evil combination of Jethro Gibbs and Tony DiNozzo.
Tales of Judgment. Also here, instead of that other place.
good luck D.B.B.
I always go with 'Operative' in front of my Soldier's name. My fortunatas and Widows I go with whatever, as they are not actually 'operatives' in the same sense a Soldier is.
This almost always garantees the name won't be taken either. 'Operative' is not only Thematic but strangely not used by as many people as I would have hoped (Lucky me)
Whining about everything since 2006.
Ammo switching for Dual Pistols was my idea:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=135484
I named mine Spectre Zero, complete with white/black arachnos armor (in place of the usual purple or red on Bane spiders) and an evil albino look when in other costumes.
Agent Biscuit
For my first SoA, I went with a traditional Operative name... my Night Widow, Operative Greyling. I made him in beta when the VEATs were testing, remade him first thing when the issue went live, and he's currently my most recent level 50.
My other Arachnos characters include my Bane Spider, Fratricidal (he killed his entire family because they overshadowed him in everything he did... he's probably my most evil character...); my future Fortunata, Undersecretary Liv (she's an official in the Rogue Isles Department of Education... she hopes to be an arbiter someday. Think evil librarian.); and my future Crab Spider, Xeryck (he's desert themed, and I always liked the word 'xeric' which describes dry climates).
Then again, Undersecretary Liv and Xeryck's names were quite largely influenced by the fact that right before I made them, someone pointed out to me I had characters whose names started with every letter of the alphabet except J, U, and X. The J ended up being a brute of mine named Juris Malus. (He's an evil lawyer.)

The bio for my widow Future Imperfect:
I have learned to pierce the veil of time. I can see what is to come, and bear witness to my own destiny. I see myself standing before Lord Recluse, his ultimate victory assured by my own hand. But hold, now the vision shifts. I see myself dead, murdered by a fellow widow. With my death Recluse's survival is assured but not his victory. The scene shifts again. I see myself shaking hands with Statesman. He is giving me a medal. Again I see a different destiny. I see myself betraying comrades in arms, fellow heroes die with my claws piercing their hearts. The scene keeps changing, always in flux. I see my destiny, and my future is imperfect.

My Widow: Arachne
My Crab: Doctor Arachnid (geneticist, robotics genius, etc. makes his own spider army)
I had Anansi once and let it go, foolishly. He'd have been a SoA probably.

The Queen's Menagerie
Named my widow for planned side-switching (soon to be hero), Cascavela.
Instead of taking a spider-esque name, I made her story revolve around her love of snakes. A Cascavel is a venomous pit-viper. Just added the -a for a feminine feel. Her name is suppose to symbolize her ties being broken from Arachnos and becoming her own person rather than a controlled being of Arachnos.
(Still trying to come up with a creative story haha)
By the way, loving all the names on this thread!
Rendezvous Fire/SR Scrapper 50 (Main), Sole Savior Kat/WP scrapper 50, Papillon Noir DM/SR Stalker 50
Cascavela NW 50
Funny story.
I originally wanted to call my spider (Solider, Build one being a Crab path, Build two being a Bane path) Sapphire Spider since her crab based armour was blue. That was taken. So I when to try Cerulean Spider. Also taken. Four or five blue shades later I found one shade of blue I could combine with Spider.
Ultramarine Spider.
What I did NOT realize at the time was that Ultramarines are in a little thing called Warhammer 40K. They are, accoring to the WH40K wiki, a chapter of Space Marines. A very powerful, well known and infamous chapter. And a spider in blue crab armour has a bit of a passing resemblance to the Ultramarine's armour.
I had no idea until someone in game asked if I was a 40K fan. Once it was pointed out to me I went 'Oh boy. I think this is going to get interesting...'

NW - Surrealia
Bane - Surrealius
The Surreal twins, who's parents were killed by Rikti during the invasion. Seeking revenge they joined the vanguard, then tried to join the PPD to become an Enlightened (ie joined with nictus for more power), but turned away because of their prior Vanguard affiliation. So in search of more training/power they moved to Rogue Isles and joined the SoA.
My NW will now go Rogue and move back to Paragon City.
Named my Nightwidow to Mirasol Blackheart. She is a career-criminal who joined Arachnos to be the best she could be.
She has a couple of different costumes, where one now is a police-costume as Arachnos is upholing the law in the Rogue Isles, and another is more street-fighter inspired.
I have not lost my mind, it is backed up somewhere on disc...
Praetorian Sepia Eta
Non-Arachnos, ex-Malta (retains his call sign for nostalgia, and because the Praetorian fireteam no longer exists) and current self-employed mercenary and intelligence specialist. He's had his armor since well before the current generation of Bane Spiders were even conceived, receiving what was at the time a prototype that he has since customized to fit his preferences.
He's primarily Hunstman with a dash of Bane (Cloaking and Surveillance are essential).
Very fun character. Most likely going stateside.
Ecstasy of Gold, Drafted into Arachnos at the age of five, Ended up a hermaphrodite, though they didn't know at the time of drafting and put him/her with the male recruits. Apparently, shenanigans ensued. Completely brainwashed until one day he/she snapped, blew up some bases and went off the grid for years.
Got his/her name working for the Goldbrickers, Recently got a hold of the Malleus Mundi for about twenty seconds while working directly for Scirocco... Further shenanigans.
Now living almost exclusively in the Rikti Warzone. Swiftly moving towards Hero status and bashing enormous quantities of Arachnos at every opportunity.
All that is planned fails. All that is born dies.
All that is built crumbles. This will always be true.
But memories remain, And that is beautiful.
Crab/Bane Dual-build: Stygian Variolus. Variolus being the species name of the Northeastern Black Widow and Stygian being an obvious substitute for Black. All in-game costumes (Including SoA uniform) are made to resemble Blackarachnia from Beast Wars (And later incarnations of the character) to a greater or lesser degree.
Night/Fort Dual Build (not there yet): Kolsen'shea Orbb. Anyone that has read the Dark Elf Trilogy should remember this phrase. Translated to Common/English from the fantasy Drow language: Pull the legs off a spider. Her costumes are the same as the Crab/Bane above, but without the crab-pack...literally pulling the legs off of my Spider.
Stephen N. Saree
It's like a name, but if you look closely It's Me n' my girlfriend.

Stephen Nikolai Saree
Started a crab soldier.
Back story is that a witless minion overheard Dr. Aeon and Lord Recluse having a (presumably drunken) argument over the "ideal" candidate for an Arachnos Soldier. Result? A former fashion model of women's pantyhose gets kidnapped and put through Soldier Boot Camp, gets her memories and personality destroyed and rebuilt from scratch. Witless minion is executed (as an example of what NOT to do when Dr. Aeon is "entertaining" Lord Recluse).
Name: Leggs
Battlecry: Length is Strength!
She's got very long legs ...
Police State.
Fang Widow Foyle.
In a weird combination of Marvel Zombies, 28 Days Later, and Ultraviolet, she's from an alt reality where Arachnos rules the world, but the world is also overrun with rabid vampires. She's one of the few who have been vaccinated against the plague, which gives her the typical Primal-Earth widow powers. Or, she's a completely insane woman with incredible combat skills. You know, whatever.
