I was one freakin' click away from finishing the very last mission of the Dark Astoria solo arc. I was RIGHT THERE!! I clicked on her... and again.... and again.... MAPSERVER! "UUUUUUUUAAARRRRRGH!" I guess I'll be doing that mission again tomorrow.

I'm sure you're just venting. But you do realize that they're gearing up for what they expect to be a considerable increase to the population once the game goes free to play (hence all the beta server stress testing).

The announcement said that they're upgrading hardware for all the live servers. Any normal Thursday, the servers would be back up around 10am Eastern. This had to happen eventually.

I don't want to delete any of my 50s to make another low level character. It will be interesting to see how much Deutsch and Francaise I'll learn after starting another twelve characters on the EU servers. :P

On about the third or fourth mapserver occurrence (after I exited to the desktop to start over), I logged in and attempted to "rejoin" the trial with the hope that everyone else was still in it.

To my surprise (and to that of a few others) instead of entering the BAF map, I appeared just inside someone's Cimerora cave mission by the exit. Apparently, one of my league mates also appeared here. The owner of the level 41 mission spotted us and simply said, "Howdy!" Others reported ending up in a random Super Group (perhaps a league member's base) instead of the BAF map.

When I exited that level 41 player's mission, I found myself standing outside the mission door closest to the cave that leads to the Midnighter's Club. The league was near that area during our attempt to begin the BAF trial just before we all got mapserved.

That was my Monty Python moment of the day, but I have to admit that I enjoy the Incarnate ability of randomly appearing before unsuspecting players in their missions. What's good for the Zeus is good for the Spandex.

Since I switched to this launcher, I've noticed the order of my characters in the selection screen has changed. Also there are characters that I KNOW I haven't played in over a month that seem to have been logged in this week. Last night, I got my first virus alert in this system EVER. I didn't stop to research the virus name or type beyond WIN32 (something). I just wanted to clean it off my system ASAP.

I've been going to the same sites (nothing shady or that would try to infect me) and running the same programs with that machine (just Win7 Pro, Firefox, AVG, CoX and my digital audio workstation software) for over a year with no trouble at all. Now weird things are happening. No one is there but me, so I don't know what to think. And then I see this thread.

I'm not quick to judge, but I'd like to be quick about solving the problems I'm seeing on my PC.

Does it have the same hypnotic sound that the Coralax minion has? I could fall asleep to that sound! So soothing.

They already do. They very recently give costume codes, the Party booster pack and the Origins booster pack. NCsoft also, on occasion, will donate a costume code as a prize during an in-game pageant, player auction, or costume contest. This is just an extra.

Keep in mind that said mission was put together in.. what? An hour? It was created while in a room with several people yelling out ideas to cram into it in that time frame and in a public place. It wasn't as if he was alone in his study with a spellchecker and a pre-written story board.

I give the arc a strong three stars just for the effort everyone took to go through the process.

With three level 50 masterminds who have been ignored and left to their own whims for six months, several level 50 IO'd scrappers and brutes who would rather dance at Pocket D than fight Praetorians every night, and a few battle worn blasters and corruptors who have faceplanted a few times too many, I'm sure they would join forces and:

-contact some casino CEO to hire me at an outrageous salary

-set up phishing sites on my PC to gain access to my funds

-use the cash to get drunk at the Boardwalk in Talos

-and turn my Facebook page into a hub for dental floss fetishes (well mainly the dominators).

I managed to get about twenty-two costumes in two hours last night. In previous years, it has taken me twelve hours of nonstop door knocking to get all thirty-three. I'm going for a new personal best this year and I'll do it again on the last day of the event just to have the costumes for another twelve days! It makes me kind of sad when I see my favorite ones disappear one by one.

Has anyone confirmed that there are new costumes beyond the original thirty-three this year? The list of the previous ones can be found at the URL below.
