What do you name your Soldiers of Arachnos?
Dark-God, for my Widow. But she's basically been rerolled, retconned out of Nightwidowy goodness. Sooo...I'll likely rename her to something else later.
Harlequinn my Crab with a knack for luck. Not the leader type, I have her Tactical Abilities as more of a sign her ability to effect the odds through being a mutant.
Both work for Arachnos however.
Dark-God as a Destined One Recluse wanted her on his side and gave her reign to do what she wanted in the Isles. She wanted to protect the innocent (she was a hero)...he wanted to corrupt her to his side...
Harlequinn as a Soldier in training.

My widow's called Arbiter Draconis, my crab's called Arbiter Green Lotus and i know my partner's bane is called Arbiter Ghost. He's got the look of the arbiters near enough spot on and he hangs about in mercy giving the newbs help or just to look cool XD, he's had some pretty nice comments from people over his suit

Well, my SoA is Huntswoman Emmanate. So far, I haven't seen any other Huntswomen. When she gets to 50, I'll probably start on a Crab SoA, but I don't have a concept for him/her yet.
I have two Widows, but neither am I playing as being, or have been, from Arachnos.
Migrane is a laboratory creation, a mish-mash of technology and magic. I orginally made her as a MC/PA Dom, but when VEATS came out I re-rolled her as a Widow with the idea of taking Fortunata powers. It's worked out great, I've enjoyed the Fortunata powers much more than the MC Dom powers.
Zaphoriza is a mercenary character, a formerly Knives of Artemis.
Global name: @k26dp
I would recommend going with Arbiter or Something for Bane or Spiders, I mean the title of Arbiter is for high ranking Officer of Arachnos.

I was always rather enamored by the Jade Spider Battalion in the Mender Silos TF and so named my SOA "Jade Guardsman" and my Night Widow "Jade Matron" - dressed them up in metallic hunter green with white trim, and wrote quick bios about them buying their freedom from Lord Recluse for valor and duty in the line of fire for Arachnos.
The Story of a Petless MM with a dream
I have a 50 in every AT, but Scrappers and Dominators are my favorites.
My second (after deleting the first due to glitches in game, which are now fixed ) Soldier of Arachnos is named Arbiter Jameela Ali. So apparently you are incorrect. In fact all of my soldiers will be Arbiters. I do not really like the Widows that much, so on them I will pass. I like the Soldier archetype so much that I only have ONE villain that isn't a soldier (Clawing Wolf). I am pro-red side and anti-red side so I won't be switching any of my toons to blue side. I totally HATE blue side. Tried it and have realized it is NOT for me. So all my slots (instead of the one with Clawing Wolf) will be filled with my female Arbiters (I can't seem to make a toon that is male other than Clawing Wolf, that might be because Clawing Wolf is a HUGE Werewolf with claws). I almost thought about deleting my only Brute that I have been talking about, but no way. After I get all my soldiers to lvl 50 I'll go back to him and finally put him at lvl 50 with them.
So, again, Arbiter is not reserved. You can name you can call your character and Arbiter as far as I can see because I named them all this during character creation.
Note: This toon as since been deleted. I have a new toon now (refer to signature).
Especially right after launch, the theme for most Crabs/Banes/Huntsmen has been Operative <something>. The majority of Arachnos soldiers in the game are named Operative something. I do believe that Arbiter is a reserved word now, so if you try to create a character with that name, it will fail.
As for my Widows/Fortunatas, I decided to work with the spider theme from a slightly different angle. I went to the Interwebs and found the scientific names for some of the spider families. And so, my two Forts are named Theridae (Black Widows) and Sicaridae (Brown Recluses). Really, though, by now I think I've seen just about any kind of name for them. I'd suggest you start with a good back story. Once you've got all the details of you character fleshed out, it shouldn't be hard to pick out a very nice name. |
THIS TOON IS NOW A HERO!
Then again, nothing is in place saying that your Arachnos soldier has to be standard. You could make a Bane spider wearing neon orange and green striped tights with a jester's hat and call him Blueberry Turkey, if you wanted to.

Your initial costume slot IS a manditory Arachnos uniform after all.

I, too, went with the "Operative" convention.
I'm currently working on a Hunts(wo)man, Operative Rathbourne.
I've got some plans for an eventual Crab called Operative Zsoldos.
I've got no real plans to try a Widow/Fortunata at this time...
-This Space Intentionally Left Blank.-
My crab is named Arachnid Huntress. Her backstory is she was a cop with latent psi abilities undercover in the rogue isles. The problem was, she got detected by Arachnos and conscripted/brainwashed. as is standard practice with spider candidates and widows. They had been grooming her for Bane training when she got tired of always being beaten to a pulp by every two bit 'destined one' and hero. The rest as they say is history in the making.

At first my Crab was called Webmaster Silas and my Fort was called Fortunata Salia.
With the free transfers I freenamed them both to something (imo) much better.
The Soldier is now called Interdiction and the Fort is called Discretion. Interdiction I'm not too proud of, but I really like Discretion
The Melee Teaming Guide for Melee Mans
My Crab (and Bane post-I13) is named Persistent Itch. I'll let you do the math on that one.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
Since it seemed that most of the starting attacks for Widow is all poisonous (As in they all seem to apply a DoT), and I had meant to stay along Widow path, I named mine Arsenic Widow. Outfit is black with neon green trim, and neon green hair as well.
Worked well so far, except wound up going Fortunata path.
Global: @Darkojin
I named my widow Ghost Widow X..sister to Ghost Widow with a backstory on how she is the sister seeking to usurp the original
My SoAs:
Huntsman/Bane: Arbiter Blood
Crab: Techno-Arachnoid
Fortunada: Ivory Fortunada
All three have amazing costumes, and the Arbiter and Fortunada have incarnate themed descriptions to match the common arbiter and fortunada menus.

My crab spider is named Hunting Machine, but that's because he's a robotic prototype to replace weak human Arachnos soldiers. YMMV.
Antipaladin
I named my soldier ItsyBitsySpider & my widow LittleBittyWidow
If your gonna play follow the leader just make sure the leader is taking you where you want to go.
For those SoA's planning on defecting to Paragon...I've seen quite a few "Ambassador (Insert Name)" running around. For Example I have "Ambassador Athena". She'll be a Rogue, traveling regularly from one side to the other.
My level 50 Dominators:
Madame Mindbender 50 Mind/Energy
Fly Agaric 50 Plant/Thorn
Nate Nitro 50 Fire/Psi
My bane/Huntsman is named Operative Frieschutz and desperately needs a bio rewrite, since her proposed alternate never materialized and I haven't been able to quite fit the 'Magic Bullets' concept with the spray of shot that the huntsman does.
Depending on what the Mutation pack contains, I may make a crab spider Dr. Octopus homage. I don't know if I'll go 'Operative' or 'Dr.' for his prefix though.
Mine is called Arakn!
Fortunata - Giosetta Felicita (means Good Luck. Italian like some other Fortunati)
Widow - Victoria Lake (Victoria Lake area , Australia, Widow spider)
Huntress - Carolina Wolf (Carolina Wolf Spider)
Bane - Arizona Black (Arizona Black Snake)
Crab - Thomasina Rey (Type of Crab Spider, Rey area California)
I think that's how I got their names anyway.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
My Night Widow is called Poison Araneae (which is another name for spider) and isn't really a proper Widow.
For a start he is a he! Ive haven't actually seen another male Night Widow running around.
He is actually a hired hitman (with some big sociopathic tendancies) who originally called himself Poison Skull. He would never remove his skull mask in public and he wanted to increase his skills and abilities. So he seduced a Widow trainer and got her to share with him the skills of the Night Widows. Unfortunately he actually fell in love with her and in a moment of passion removed his skull mask and the trainer saw his face. So he ended up killing her out of anger and regret. He returned to his life as a hitman for hire but changed his name to Poison Araneae as a sign of respect for his dead love.
