  1. I once had an idea for a zombie/dark or demon/thermal mastermind who was just a guy in a tie-die shirt (baggy with psyche pattern applied) who'd accidentally picked up a cursed amulet that summoned zombies/demons to 'protect' him, which pretty much slaughtered everything around him. He was a pacifist and just sort of ran around horrified trying to get them to stop.

    AV/GM killer!

I'm not really sure what's most useful for AV/GM killing, but corruptors are getting Poison soon, which I'm told is good for single hard targets.

You try hard enough, you can find a trope for pretty much any character concept or personality type...

I have an alt with the steampunk upper arms, gloves, spiked shoulderpads, and a tanktop.

I'm absolutely shocked that I managed to level him from 1-50 without anyone asking him a question just like that one.

Lord Recluse is watching your ERP... And he likes It.

Slight teasing aside, I have to admit that every time I decide to just wander around grandville I find somewhere new and cool. I've been planning on getting a Stalker up to the higher levels so I can explore the zone more. I can totally see that zone being used for awesome RP of all sorts.
  7. Or something. Which is a shame since CoX is about all I use it for. Anyway, I'm considering installing it on my very-nice laptop, but I'm not really sure if it'll run the way I want it to. Can someone give me an analysis if it'll run at reasonable speeds at median graphhics, at least?

  8. ...It may seem a bit ORIENTAL WEAPONZ YEEEEESS of me but I'd really like to see a Nodachi and an oversized spiked club, suitable for usage by Oni.
  9. Where are all the characters going to be getting these rail-crossing signs? Paragon and the Rogue Isles don't have a traditional rail system.
  10. I heard the new raid was Polarizing anyway.

  12. By the way, are the Feline Patrons at the redside bar going to be replaced with Steampunk Patrons when the new pack comes out?

at least it isn't sparkling.. I think.

seriously it makes me want to strap something down and hurt it slowly with not-too-sharp objects, with a mic and big amp to make the screams more enjoyable. AND THEN SLEDGEHAMMER ON IT'S CAREBEAR-LIKE FACE BAMBAMBAMBAM. Oh god that would be delicious, i feel better now
Try taking a few dozen deep breaths and remembering that there are people who enjoy things which you do not, and that outbursts like that are the equivalent to cussing someone out in a parking lot because you see them loading their groceries into a car with a political bumper sticker on the back. Also recall that you've got a big banner for an RP channel in your signature, and that things like this are going to reflect back on them as well as you. I very much enjoyed the Virtue RP league during the praetorian invasion, and I would hate to see people driven away because people see what you've written and decide that they would be unwelcome in the group because they play anthromorphs or vampires.

PS: The avatar in question is from Darkstalkers, a wonderful series of fighting games starring interpretations of monsters from myth and legend.
  14. These threads about Nin/Poison have me wanting to try one, especially since I've got a character concept all waiting in my head.

I wanted to ask before I roll the character, though: What are the weaknesses of ninjas and poison? What are the strengths?

    Level 50 Magic Mastermind
    Primary Power Set: Ninjas
    Secondary Power Set: Poison
    Power Pool: Fighting
    Power Pool: Leaping
    Power Pool: Leadership
    Power Pool: Presence
    Ancillary Pool: Leviathan Mastery

    Villain Profile:
    Level 1: Call Genin -- (A)
    Level 1: Alkaloid -- (A)
    Level 2: Envenom -- (A)
    Level 4: Weaken -- (A)
    Level 6: Train Ninjas -- (A)
    Level 8: Boxing -- (A)
    Level 10: Jump Kick -- (A)
    Level 12: Call Jounin -- (A)
    Level 14: Super Jump -- (A)
    Level 16: Neurotoxic Breath -- (A)
    Level 18: Smoke Flash -- (A)
    Level 20: Antidote -- (A)
    Level 22: Assault -- (A)
    Level 24: Provoke -- (A)
    Level 26: Oni -- (A)
    Level 28: Paralytic Poison -- (A)
    Level 30: Elixir of Life -- (A)
    Level 32: Kuji In Zen -- (A)
    Level 35: Tactics -- (A)
    Level 38: Noxious Gas -- (A)
    Level 41: Bile Spray -- (A)
    Level 44: Knockout Blow -- (A)
    Level 47: Shark Skin -- (A)
    Level 49: Tough -- (A)

Tough and Shark Skin give me 65% resistance to smethal, which is why I have Provoke and not Hasten. Boxing and Jump Kick are mostly concept powers, but aren't THAT big of a step down from the ninja's bow attacks.
I'm a little uncertain about if I should be taking Tactics or Manuevers, but I figure that even on a mastermind the values are kind of small. I might also swap out Elixer of Life for Vengeance...
  15. Tips for Mercs:

    1. Serum sucks. Just don't bother.
    2. Always take new pet and upgrade powers as they become available.
    3. Your pets should have three modes: Defensive Follow (Default), Defensive Attack Target (focus fire), and Aggressive Follow (Everyone shoot everything)
    4. Your attacks are okay, but if you're having to heal, you won't have much time to use them, so don't worry about it.
  16. It's a bug, but it's a funny bug. Can we have it back?
  17. Wait, really? You shifted ALL your characters over to be heroes?

Will you please stop referring to loyalists as 'Stiff armers'? I feel it's needlessly inflammatory and offensive.

But it should have. A big factor that was interesting about the game was that Praetoria was going to be the land of moral ambiguity, and that's sadly not the case right now. The game treats Resistance as heroes and Loyalist as Villains, no exceptions. I'm okay with praetoria being a "superpowered fascist dictatorship", as you put it, but I think that there needs to be at least something showing that this might not be a bad thing, that the choice is 'Freedom(and probably annihilation) vs. Slavery (And the continued existence of the species)'.

I think Cole needs, evil or not, to be the last, best chance for humanity in praetoria, to give supporting him some legitimacy. As it is, it [SPOILERS] Feels like the end of the Responsibility Arc is steering you toward the resistance, by making you work with Mother Mayhem and then revealing Cole's war efforts toward Primal Earth[/Spoilers], and the revelation that he is the Well's Champion seem to be precluding the notion that loyalists will ever be given the option to choose their homeland over primal earth. And that's terrible.
  20. I. Wait, what? I thought that all this Friendship is Magic was popular in an entirely 'I watch it ironically' sense. The show is actually good?

  22. According to Mids, they both Suppress on 'MissionObjectClick'. This is compared to Stealth, which supresses when you're attacked or hit, as well.
  23. Oooooh. Today was an enlightening experience: changing my tactics up removed my problems soloing (Except for some end issues), but all my missions currently have Downgraded AVs in them. So the fact that they innately resist 85% of my tohit debuffs means they're hitting hard and kicking the crap out of my corruptor, which is why I was thinking he was having issues. I was too used to my mastermind and Scrapper...
  24. Would you slot for +Defense or -Recharge first, if you where looking at an IO sets build?

Not sure what you're end usage is like, so Cardiac would also boost your end discount, along with range and eventually Fear Duration.
End drain is pretty bad, actually. But the extra damage would reduce the number of shots to kill things, and the immob would help with TT, which is the power I named the character after... I hadn't really considered what to get, as it was utterly getting trounced when I tried to go get my alpha slot that made me make this topic.
