I predict it'll be about three and a half minutes before the company who makes these ears will also make a "cat tail" belt that makes a tail flick around based on the same technology.

Hey! What's wrong with Sailor Bubba? Other than the fact that he's an old, hairy dude in a sailor fuku?

He's been a fixture at Anime Central for years now.

Just be glad you didn't see him in his Lum costume.

All is good until the ears short out and they are controlling your mind kind of like Dr. Octopus's arms did in Spiderman 2. :P

Didn't say there was anything wrong with him. I said he'd buy the catgirl ears.

A good use of technology to me is one that sells, and I think it's a pretty good invention as I'm sure it will sell well amongst the young, cosplayers, and anime crowd (well that's kinda redundant isn't it?). Now, they just need to make it easy to buy. How much are they anyway?

The next version should allow for one ear droops when flirting or winking.

Agreed. I'd also note that if it works I could imagine some potential usages in the medical field (potentially as a communication tool for people with disabilities) so making it as an entertainment device may provide the funding for other useful applications.

Plus they are cool.

If it could be hooked up to the nerves in the ear, might make a good prosthetic for those who are deaf through ear damage.

While the whole catgirl ears thing is pretty amusing, I like what this also means in a bigger picture. Together with that Star Wars Force Trainer toy this begins to show that brain controlled toys are beginning to become possible. And if we can do that at consumer level, it looks promising on a medical level, I'd think. So we've got cat ears that react to emotions. The next generations of this tech could be awesome.
