Bah!

Fire/Cold
Fire/Rad
Fire/Dark
Sonic/Cold
Sonic/Rad
Sonic/Dark

All should be fine for AV's, I've never tried /dark for soloing GM's though.

I'd take /dark out of the list since its debuff component is more -ToHit than -Def or -Res. I like Fire as a primary for just total badass damage and /Cold, /Rad, /Therm, /Trick Arrow, and /Sonic for the combination of -Def and -Res. Those increase the effectiveness of your damage attacks from your primary.

I wonder how the new Beam Weapons set will stack up, seeing as how its single target oriented and maybe -res focused as well?

What is this and where did you find it?

There is a thread over in the general forum discussing the info that has been released at Comicon or whatever. Im addition to time manipulation, there will be beam weapons (a blast set) and street justice (a melee set).

dark is fine, has -resist, -regen, -damage and tons of to-hit debuff. no -defense shouldn't be a problem for a well built toon. i'd leave TA off the list, since it has no -regen without envenomed dagger and since lolTA. i wouldn't try it with therm either really. i'm sure it could do it but meh.

TA has -regen in EMP Arrow, but that does -recov and has a long recharge time.

So i decided to go with a fire/rad. With this first build i went it for capped S/L def which i will most likely benefit more from when it comes to fighting AV/GM then just standard res.

This next one i went with res in the case that it would be suitable for AV/GM fighting. I went with the Mu patron set to help with the end issues.

I'm not really sure what's most useful for AV/GM killing, but corruptors are getting Poison soon, which I'm told is good for single hard targets.

I would take Dark off the list for GM soloing. Maybe even AVs. I'm sure they can do it, but the -regen on TG is too small to be relied upon. There is Howling Twilight, which is -500% ("standard -regen strength") but you need immense amounts of recharge to have it back up fast enough for sustained -regen.

As for Poison, it's got some seriously nasty ST debuffs, but is let down by not having much else to keep you alive. For MMs this is fine but a Poison Corruptor might have more dificulties in hard target soloing. Then again, one can always softcap s/l defense.

There was talk in other threads prior to the release of Issue 20.5 that /poison was a candidate for proliferation to corruptors. At that time, the devs said they would re-visit some of the issues of poison. I hope they fix the poison set's poison trap to make it more useful than the total worthless junk it is for poison trap. Noxious gas is a key component to big game hunting. However it turns out, a fire/poison corruptor would be deliciously effective.

This. Definitely Fire/Rad. Here's a link to my Fire/Rad's build:

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...15&postcount=4

She has soloed Kraken, Three Paladins (at once), Scrapyard, Adamastor, Jurassik, Jack and Eochai (while they were frighting each other), Babbage, and tons of AV's. I'm going after the Recluse's Victory signatures next...
