    Water Blast!

    I have been clued to Legend of Korra, so making a water bender
  2. First off, you really dont need assault.

    I prefer to have combustion really as part of a rotation unless you plan to just do ST dmg while fireball and RoF are recharging.

    You dont really need Lockdown +2 mag in Volcanic gases. On my Earth/fire/mako i like to slot volcanic with Unbreakable Constraint: Smashing dmg and if i have room the posi energy blast proc. Just for a bit of fun.

    Earthquake does benefit from some -to hit and the anchille's heel proc is always useful.

    Other then that i think it is a pretty sound build. And well done on getting 3(almost) capped def with a res shield.

    Oh and rather expensive!
  3. I have an Elec/fire - big mistake! A lot of people rely on static field as the main control aspect (from what i have seen) and that doesnt work with /fire as the dots wake the enemies up so u have to rely on the confuse power which yeh is a cool power but rather slow i find especially if u are trying to speed through some mobs but u have to either wait for it to confuse them all or go in and take some dmg.

    Safe to say i havent really played elec much since lvling to 50 and fully enhancing the character >.<

    I dont know if id play elec again, its just not for me i dont think.

    Ice i havent played in at least 4 years lol but from what i can remember and have seen as of late it is a very meele based set which would work well with stone plus you would have mud pots though AA+mud pots= zero end. I think it might be a nice combination to try out. While it is very nice to have many ranged secondary powers if you are in meele range all the time you could probably just get away with hurl boulder and then whatever APP power you choose.

    Alternatively you could go ice/fire which would increase your dmg but also you would have higher end usage and would require perma consume which isnt that hard these days.

    Im backing ice/stone/ice though.

    I moved a few things around and i took out Melt Armor as it was at 58 sec rech so it wasnt really worth having. Instead i just moved around the extra slots.

    Plant/dark/fire

    After watching The blair witch project i was all

    'Hmm evil witch in the woods....how could i make that.....'

    And well i came up with plant/dark/fire (and im gonna change the colouring of plant to black so they look like strange dark tentacle things!)

    I now have 3 low level doms - dark/psi. grav/dark. plant/dark.

    Im not entirely sure on the dark/psi, the grav/dark isnt going to be that much of a solo powerhouse. I like characters to be able to hold their own and plough enemies down and i do believe that plant/dark/fire is capable of that.

    SO......

    1- i would like more dmg in roots if needed
    2-gathering shadows + creepers = woo!......
    3-is the slotting in creepers good enough? I have never used it before so im not sure if the rech is over slotted.
    4-is it worth slotting/taking melt armor
    5-i usually take tough for my doms but plant has that much control it doesnt seem needed.
    6-will this build tear enemies apart?

    1- I generally prefer fly and it fits my theme, never been a fan of SJ and im not concerned with how fast i travel.

    2- i intend to be more within aoe range to take advantage of Engulfing Darkness as this shall be the basis for my aoe hence why i took the fighting pool.

    3- i am aware crushing field has no -kb but i am proficient with using energy blast and kb in general. Ice doesnt fit my theme and i hate that ice and fire are now the 'go to' sets to make a 'good' dom so no i wont be following the herd there.

    Now for your build.....

    -Whats with the defense? with that little it is utter pointless.

    -life drain has no dmg even though it is a solid st blast especially when you have chosen to slot Apocaylpse in Dark Blast which still doesnt make it useful.

    -gloom is underslotted.

    - the KD proc in energy torrent is wasted

    -singy doesnt need the res bonus

    -no Unbreakable Constraint even though its a cheap purple set compared to the dmg sets which are sup par and it has a nice proc.

    -no dmg in Gravity Distortion

    -Gravity Distortion Field doesnt have enough acc

    -health is poorly slotted.

    Trying to get good solid rech so i have perma dom and perma hasten (only 1.5 secs off), maintain some solid dmg output and fit it all within my theme.

    Why what would you change?

    I am considering dropping Night Fall though in replace for smite, partly because the cone is tiny and i tend to only ever hit 2 enemies with it and then the dmg is all that great. Where as if i had smite the dmg is pretty strong and its ST. Plus with energy epics and engulfing darkness i dont think i need anymore aoe.

    Yeh i guess so. Well if nobody can find anything really wrong with it then its rather pointless to comment.

    And Mr_Blaze it all came to just over 2 bill. So not bad really.

    I would have liked to have some confusion power within the build just because it seems as though it would fit the theme but that was only possible if i took WoC which sadly i would never use. Devs really need to tweak that power its pretty useless as it stands

    yeh it does seem to be the case, especially more so with the more 'common' overused pairings of specific sets.
  12. Ouch! Yeh i imagine there are a few people out there who havent quite grasped the correct time in which to use it - myself included.

    I think its almost too much of a situational power really. Its not like you can single out a specific enemy and phase him for a period while dealing with the underlings. Perhaps it would be more useful on the incarnate trials.

    If you have the space to take it then take it, but there will always be something better.
  13. Ok so im not entirely sure if this is me being stupid or what, but could Dimension shift be used defensively?

    - Toggle, Ranged (Location AoE), Foe Intangible
    Location-targeted AoE toggle. This power folds space in an area, immobilizing and phasing all targets within the sphere. Enemies who enter the area become immobilized and phased for the duration of the effect. Allies who enter the sphere's area of effect will enter the phase as well, allowing them to combat phased enemies. Detoggling this power ends the effect, bringing the phased creatures back into the physical world. Maintaining this dimensional distortion is taxing on the user, and cannot be done for more than 20 seconds. Recharge: Slow -

    basically it creates an area in which anything that enters it becomes phased and those outside the field cannot effect those within, unless they themselves enter then it becomes a free-for-all.

    SO say for example your team was fighting a GM or AV and some people were near death could they be phased out with Dimesion Shift and then heal within the field while the others occupy the GM/AV??

    If this is correct and its not just me being stupid it will still be a very situational power but it could be a life saver.

    For many years now i have made a number of characters to try best simulate luck, probability, and choas so far i have not found a pairing of sets that fit the theme best.

    My new idea is to try grav/dark for the following reasons:

    *lift - oops you suddenly flew up into the air
    *Aoe immob/hold - i feel just fit the theme
    *propel - a random chance to teleport a random object
    *wormhole - same as propel really but more 'randomly' teleporting enemies
    *dimension shift - while themeantic i dont have room to fit it in
    *drain life - seems to fit in quite well i think

    Dark just seemed to be a more interesting option, it is a solid assault set, good ST, good PBAoE, gather shadows.

  17. Alot of people are going to reccommend Fire blast and Rad blast.

    Dark blast is meant to work quite well with kinetics so i have heard.
    Many years ago i had a kin/psi def whom i loved, though quite a few people will argue that is a **** combo but whatever.
    Elec would be worth a go but i think your best bet would be RAD/KIN

  23. So far i have a lvl 30 Psi/time corr and i am really starting to regret taking time, it just seems very sub par. It doesnt have very good synergy with psi i dont think. Anybody got any suggestions? I was thinking about rerolling as psi/kin.

    seeing as nobody has bothered to comment on my psi/time post i shall comment on yours.

    Firstly im not sure if its mids or what but the dmg for psi seems to be rather low still.

    None the less still gotta love it! bout time corrs got psi blast!

    Anyways i decided to slot a dmg proc in TJ partly because it has such a large radius and with the -speed and -to hit i thought it would work quite effectively.
    DF is pretty rubbish when it comes to the hold proc and apparently other people have had more success with the Lockdown: +2 mag hold proc. Accompany that with the purp dmg proc and *hopefully* it should work quite well.
    Chrono shift is just under the rech cap so woo yey me.

    Capped S/L def with a fair amount of energy.

    I took after burner just to see what its like really and to slot another lotg +rech.

    The rest of the build is pretty self explanatory.
