This was pointed out in the training room version of these same patch notes weeks ago! XD

No, I'm not mad... just very amused! I wonder how many people are gonna respec their tanks looking to get the psi mastery pool only to find out it's not there?

I know i wasted my second build figuring that out >_>

Annyways, RE; Reformed badge. I think the Devs are making way for a "betrayer" badge or something. After all, I don't think a hero would be "redeemed" by beating up Longbow =P Alternately, they found a better use for the name or a better way to get it (day job time in a jail, perhaps?)

So, everyone cool down. Let's see their reasoning on this first.

Cause she has the right to express her opinion on the bugs that's been plaguing CoH lately. They should be given the priority, not if *gasps* some heroes can get villian badges or visa versa. My view anyway.

We are aware internally of the badgers concerns over the removal of this badge. However at this time the Developers are choosing to not comment. I'll keep you updated if I hear of any change in that determination.

Sorry, but the lack of relevant comment from the Devs, or at least defensible comment in light of their actions that are counter the player interests, demands, etc - this is laughable.

At the moment, it now seems unlikely that I will even be able to play on 2xp weekend, not because I won't have time available, but because the downloader, for at least a few people it seems, is borked. The updater is projecting about 80 more hours to complete the file download on my machine. Got a support ticket open and a thread in the Bugs forum, but had to drop in and agree with this. Patches often come with problems, problems are to be expected and dealt with. But this is a lousy time to have new problems.

What does this have to do with future development? The only future-related aspect is speculation by some people. As I said elsewhere, the ability for a villain to get this when they switch sides is just as possible as it always has been - it's not changed, it's not relevant. What's at issue is a hero being told they can't get the badge for the same action as a villian - risk vs reward when killing longbow.

Looked high and low for the name builds. Not a selection at the trainer. Not in the Options menu. I ran a list of commands and no new ones that pertain to builds.

It could be that there's a command for it that didn't make the command list and I haven't guessed at yet. But I prefer the mystery to be resolved and be told how you name your builds.

I want to call one of my builds....

BUG ALERT!

Bruiser's Hand Clap was not changed to knockdown. It still does knockback. Toying around with the real numbers for the power shows that the mag scales by level, from 0.7 at level 1 to 1.74 at level 50. This means that, effectively, at all levels at which the Bruiser has access to Hand Clap, it will still cause knockback. The mag should be changed to a static 0.67 across all levels.

This behavior is noticeable in game as well as in the real numbers readout.

Anyone else getting atrocious download speeds for this patch?

I have nothing taking up my bandwidth and getting <2kb/s for an 80mb patch is ridiculous.

I've noticed this too. what a shame, this was the one thing in this patch that I was looking forward to.

EDIT : Or follow This link to the fix. Apparently you'll need to force the updater to access a different port from the default. The instructions were easy to follow, and it fixed the problem for me.

Ah thanks for pointing me to that thread. Changing the port did help, getting around 45kb/s now.

This Live Patch has introduced more bugs than it has fixed.

Many of the items that were supposedly changed were not actually changed!

You've caused way more technical problems that you've solved.

Just in time for Double XP Weekend!

Ex Libris, Castle, any word on getting Dark Miasma's Dark Servant power on Heroes to accept Accurate ToHit Debuff sets like the Villains have it?

Any news on why arena is down on Virtue? Does it have to do with the lag that is affecting that server only or something or did they really just break arena complete?

Double Xp has not even started yet and on Virtue i am experiencing with any of my characters ( blue and red side ):

1) Chat delay of about 2 seconds between typing and message showing in chat screen once sent.

2) Enemies are sometimes teleporting to me instead of running. Unusual lagspikes i only experienced during special events with full server.

3) Delay with powers showing recharged but still will not fire. Like good old Hami raids used to cause. But it happens now when i am alone in an instance mission. That is bad.

I am on cable modem and it is working just fine. Is anything wrong with the patch or your network?

Today's patch did something weird with the Day Jobs. I created a new character and right when she popped up in Atlas I got a notice that I was at my first day job location... even though I wasn't. I kept noticing a day job icon flash in my icon bar as I ran around. And when I switched to a villain I saw multiple day job icons appear at once. It didn't impact the game at all, but I just thought it was weird.

Virtue Arena Server keeps crashing, we have been monitoring the issue and restarting as needed. As of now going through peak we will be leaving the Arena on Virtue down until tomorrow AM restart.

No, we were told of the change almost two months after the fact by a line buried in the middle of a large patch note. This happened at least THREE YEARS after heroes started getting the badge and 1.5 years after the ability to get the badge became widespread without workarounds.

The error here was that whoever chose to change the status of this badge did so thinking that the players would meekly accept it. In your case, it appears they were right.

Then they should have the intestinal fortitude to post that this is for a future development. They know a portion of their customer base is upset with this, and instead of being open with the reasons they are hoping people will "just forget about it." They tried that with the Base changes during closed beta. That flew about as well as an anvil. Instead players got more and more upset to the point that someone -had- to respond. Even that response was not very warmly received.

I seem to be repeating myself a lot since the open beta: the developers need to be far more open with players.
