  1. Thanks. That helps. Do you think this is worth it:

Elude is normally pretty useless to me since I'm at the old softcap already. Isn't the new softcap something I'd encounter only on team stuff - when I'd probably be buffed to the new cap anyway? It seems like as a situational power the shockwave knockback would come in handy more often.
  2. I just came back to CoH after taking a break for several months and I have some questions. First inherent fitness. The re-build I just did for it is below. I just added the medicine pool and then took shockwave because I couldn't think of anything else that I wanted. Look okay? Any suggestions?

The second and bigger question is the Incarnate system. Ack! It took me a year to figure out inventions. Any ideas about what a good way to go for a Claws/SR would be? I really have no idea. So far I've open up Alpha and Judgement and slotted Musculature Boost. I also have various merits and salvage and whatnot that I don't really know what to do with – any good guides on this? Finally, my understanding is that you can switch between different Incarnate abilities, is that correct?

    Thanks.

  3. So... anonymous sources say off the record that there maybe (or may not) possibly be a deal reached soon unless it's delayed again. Good news!
  4. I'm long past the point of caring. It's actually become kind of fun to see what new and creative ways that GL can come up with to debase the franchise. I mean how much lower can he possibly sink? How about digitally replacing Luke with Elmo to draw more kiddies in? There's actually a kind of twisted genius to it.
  5. Might as well throw my 2 cents in. Even the most casual player can easily make 1 or 2 billion inf and pick up a few A-merits by the time they hit 50. That's enough to slot out any character so they can easily blow through 95% of the PvE content in the game. I've never used a purple or pvp io set in any of my builds and I have lots of fun playing my tough - but not exactly uber - characters. Works for me.

    True Grit 2010

The novel was brilliant - the original film version was pretty meh. If they hadn't given John Wayne a make-up Oscar for it (that he should have won for The Searchers or Red River) I doubt anyone would remember it much today. The great job the Cohens did with No Country for Old Men makes me hopeful that this version might get it right.
  7. The WW in Atlas Park seems to be the last holdout of the spammers. I've seen quite a few of them in there advertising in local. Aside from that, yeah, pretty much all gone.
  8. Okay, here's my first shot at a set build for a MA/Inv scrapper. Don't want to pour a ton of inf into this one so it's pretty budget conscious. Aside from that pretty much everything is negotiable. What do you think?

  9. Dark/Rad it is! Thank you all.
  10. Thinking about making a concept character who controls the powers of light and darkness. Using dark/ as the primary and one of the secondaries re-colored to a bright white. Elec, psy, and rad all give the visual effect I want. Looking for opinions on which is the best. PvE only, mostly on teams but I wouldn't mind being able to solo. Thanks!
  11. Re-colored Skunk Lass' fire/rad powers to a dark mustard yellow to make super skunk spray. Aside from that just set my natural/tech character to minimal FX.
  12. Wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks for giving screenshots a comic book feel. Since I completely lack drawing skills of any kind I've been messing with photoshop to try and do this. I'm pretty okay with what I've come up with just noodling around a bit:

But I'm a PS novice so I'm sure there are better effects that can be achieved. Any suggestions?

Virtue and at least a couple of other servers were having major problems last night with lag spikes, people getting kicked, and not being able to log in. So I'm thinking there's some extra fixin' that needs to be done today.

He's only been Emperor for 25 years but he was Counsul and leader of the Earth for some undefined time before that so After Unification is still possible.
  16. These are the same people with think that Countess Crey is a public spirited philanthropist and that the Carnival of Shadows is a fun place to take your kids. Is the existence of Praetoria even public knowledge in the lore? Profound obtuseness is a prerequisite for living in a comic book universe.

    Post a Character

From the journals of Dr. Primrose Moffet, Transdimensional Exploratory Office, Royal Malodarian Academy of Science:

The Alpha-Sigma Dimensional Cluster is a strange place. On these worlds a species of large primate has evolved into the dominate life form rather than skunks. The infinite variety of the multiverse continues to astound me. Although they are primitive and barbarous creatures they have managed to develop a crude form of interdimensional travel. I fear that this presents a danger to civilized and peaceful skunks everywhere. Hence, I have decided to halt my explorations for a time and attempt to bring some order to these savages. I have befriended a young female of their kind and am employing her as my native guide and bearer. I've devised a simple neuro-genetic transponder that allows me to project my powers through her, which as proven most useful. She's a stout hearted lass, if none too bright, and I believe that together we can do much good, both for skunk-kind and for the pathetic beings of this benighted place.

    Dr. P. Moffet

My explorations of the Alpha-Sigma Cluster began with the world know as Praetorian Earth (Earth being the local name for Malodaria). It appears to be a largely orderly and well run place under the leadership of it's wise ruler Emperor Cole and I have decided that my intervention is not required there. My guide, Fiona (or “Skunk Lass” as she has fancifully come to call herself), found it oppressive and actually wished to join a terrorist group known as “the Resistance” dedicated to sowing anarchy and unrest. She means well, but I fear that her simple minded idealism could lead her astray without my mentorship. I convinced her of the foolishness of this plan and so we have moved on to Fiona's native dimension, Primal Earth.
This is a far more troubled place, divided between various warring factions and at the nexus of a number of transdimensional and extraterrestrial threats. I have yet to determine which of the local power groups it would be most beneficial to assist. The organization called Arachnos seems to be promising, with the kind of backbone it would take to set this place on an orderly path. Fiona, of course, has other ideas and wishes me to throw my support behind a certain “Freedom Phalanx”. I judge them to be too weak willed and disorganized for the job, but they are lead by this world's mirror of Emperor Cole. Perhaps with the proper prompting they could be molded into as effective a force as their Praetorian counterparts. We shall see. . .

    Dr. P. Moffet
  18. Thanks for the advice. Messed with the build a bit and came up with this. I think that I'm pretty happy with it but if anyone has additional comments let me know.

  19. This is my attempt at a not-super-expensive IO set build for my Claws/SR. It's based on a build that someone posted a while back - can't find the thread now or I'd give them credit. I need fly for concept reasons and I don't like the Medicine pool but everything else is negotiable. What do you think?

  20. I imagine that another factor in the 15/20 character limit was that before the devs added the ability to right click on a name in the chat window there was a lot more typing involved in sending team invites, etc.
  21. Hi - been having sound and crashing problems on my new (used) computer. First, the sound level on some sound effects drops randomly. For instance my dual blades go: WHACK-WHACK WHACK-WHACK whack-whack. The sound level of the music doesn't seem to be affected. Also I'm getting some crashes both on large teams and during things like Rikti invasions. Any time there are a lot of fx flying around. The game freezes and the sound starts looping. At that point I have to reboot or kill the game with task manager. I think that all of my drivers are up to date and it nothing seems to be overheating. Here's my cohHelper thing, and thanks:

Yay. I've been calling my Fly Trap "Fredo" because it's weak and stupid. Now it's just stupid. Good deal.
