Thank you War Witch and to everyone else for giving me a place I can call home on the internet for the last 3 years. I hope the best to you all in your future adventures, may your legs carry you over any building and your lack of gravity carry you into the stars and beyond.

Thanks to everyone that helped make me a welcomed part of the community, and for giving me over 3 years of some of the best gaming I've been able to take part in. May the next game bring many friendships and maybe reconnect to some old CoH friends.

Thanks Paragon Studios (and Cryptic before that) for creating one of the best games I've ever played and for countless hours of fun.

Thank you, fellow players, for being the best in-game community of any online game I've ever played. Its been a blast!

Melissa,

This is truly one of the saddest days in my life. A portion of my soul is dying at this news, yet, just as you did, you reflected on the positives.

My positives:

The Boston Meet & Greet: you and the PS crew were the best ever. I wish I'd had the chance to talk more one-on-one with you, but most seemed to have more burning questions about power balancing; regardless it was good to see you there.

All dev sponsored events over the last few years: Can't say enough how great it was to team and chat with all of you.

Winning costume contests hosted by devs: 4 out of 7 of these contests, I won from the dev's choice. That told me I was fashionable enough for the gods of the game to take notice. I remain to this day humbled.

In game teaming with the devs and community reps: Being invited to PUGs, AE missions, and many other team-ups made for incredible days.

Each issue: was always a fantastic display of creativity, thanks to you and the PS team. I was always surprised by how much you put into those issues.

This year, I'm afraid I won't be able to send the Majordeej Christmas 'bonus' of yummies to your offices, but know that in my heart, I will always be thinking of each and all of you.

Good luck with future work, and know you HAVE made an impact on this family's life. Thank you and God Bless.

-Don "Major Deej" Finger

I can still remember the first time I teamed up with someone who didn't speak English well. I don't know if it was a he or she but the person spoke Japanese (which, ironically, I can now speak but I couldn't then). It was shortly after Issue 2 came out. It was clear that he was trying to ask me a question but I just couldn't make sense of it from the English he knew. We were the exact same level (low) so I just invited him to a team hoping I could figure it out. We played together for over eight hours despite not being able to communicate and, to this day, I still have absolutely no idea what he was originally trying to ask me. But I know we both had a blast.

This game was something special and I'm devastated to see it go.

Best of luck to you War Witch, and thank you for all of your amazing work with the development of the game! It was very touching to read how this impacted you and other devs and community management, thank you for sharing it with us.

Thanks for all the things you have done Warwitch. If I recall correctly you wrote a lot of the funny dialogues in Pocket D for example. Thanks as well fro bringing a smile on my face every time I heard Desperate Gyuy talking. He must be my favorite civilian.

I feel so sorry for you guys, the best dev team a player like me could ask for. You guys got one heck of a bag over the head and a kick to the pouch potatoes yesterday.

In the other MMOs I've played, I've either not bothered with the forums at all, or barely posted. I felt like just another face in a huge crowd, that nothing I could say would really matter. But here, it's been a whole other ball of wax. The level of interaction that you guys gave us, and the fun you had with it are truly incredible. You couldn't give us everything we asked for, but you tried to give us as much as possible, always something new up your sleeves to keep things interesting and fun.
I've never felt that sense of community anywhere else, and that's a shame. I'll miss the amazing world you've created, where any kind of character we players could conceive of, fit right in perfectly. Where else could the avatar of a Skyscraper fight alongside a defiant Cimeroran Minotaur, a Japanese Schoolgirl, or any number of other fantastic characters?

I feel that NCSoft's done you guys a huge disservice here- but if they're going to treat such hardworking, dedicated, and generally kickass people like you that way, then they don't deserve to have amazing people like you and the rest of the Dev team working for them.

Like I told Andy and Kevin and Jessie, and like I'll tell any other redname who says this... thank you. This game captured me, heart and mind; it took two days to become my favorite game of all time and I have a sneaky suspicion it's always going to be. And the game alone, great as it was, cannot by itself account for that strong a feeling. It was the people. Both the players (knowing the people around me were the type I could spend time with and not want to hurt anybody or run away screaming), and the developers (knowing the people making the game were the type I could trust to be decent and thoughtful and fair). I doubt I'm gonna find that combination somewhere else, it was miraculous enough to encounter it at all and they say lightning doesn't strike twice.

Since everything else I have to say has been said a bajillionty times by now, I'll just sum it up with this: Melissa... Canada couldn't have had a better ambassador, girl. You're making us proud! In your honor, my magic blaster is going to be floating cross-legged on that hilltop in Croatoa right next to your namesake when the lights go out.

Good luck with whatever you do next, War Witch.

Stay safe out there hero!

Thank you all for everything. It has been an amazing and uplifting eight years. You guys literally saved my life. No details, but for a few years things were so bad that logging in got me up in the morning and was the reason I was alive to go to sleep at night. Those few hours each day got me through.

All the dreams, the friends, the smiles, every memory I will treasure and carry with me all my life. The friends I have made here are my 2nd family. It has been the best of times and you saw me through the worst of times and for that I cannot thank you enough.

God bless you all. You'll be in my prayers and in my memories.

An honest thank you and the rest of the development team for making one of the best games I've ever been a part of. 6+ years of this game (more than any other I've been on) and I enjoyed most every moment of it. This community is one of the best I've ever been a part of and the dev team has been nothing short of amazing between content and events. I hope you guys are able to find the next great game to be a part of. =)

Thank you for an extraordinary game, Melissa. What was done to you and yours was beyond reprehensible.

I won't be participating in any of NCSoft's 'sunset activities,' if there are any. Any end to this experience that wasn't written and developed by the people who brought us this point is a pointless waste of time as far as I am concerned. You should have been given the opportunity to end this experience on your terms.

You and yours developed the best social game in the history of gaming. There will never be another community like this one.

Again, there are no words other than thank you.

- Mike

I was holding it together for the most part until I saw these in your list...

It was our distinct pleasure to run Real World Hero and every time you wear the scarf, may you always remember how much we as a community love the world you and the team at Paragon Studios made for us to live in. You are much loved and we are the richer for having met you.

Thank you.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting you, Positron and Noble Savage at SDCC in 2009 and 2010. I don't rightly expect you'll remember me in particular, given how many folks you talked to. But that's what made you and all the other devs so great--your desire and drive to interface with the community and give us your very best. The commitment all of the devs have shown over the years will always be remembered.

This experience is the entertainment standard against which I will judge all others for a long, long, time. The sheer value of fun - measured in terms of hours or hilarious interactions or additions to the list of people in different parts of the world I now have on my Skype list or whatever - all mine for the low-low-price of $15/month?

I've run large shared-world campaigns. I have some inkling of how hard it is to stay passionate about what you do when players (like, sometimes, me...) get prickish about what you've done.

You and your team led this City of Heroes by example, through and through.

Thank you.

There's a lot of things I could say, but none of it comes anywhere close to saying exactly how grateful I am to Paragon Studios for creating a world that sucked up more than three years of my life. I may have moved on to other things as my free time disappeared, but my heart will forever be in the skies above Atlas Park.

Thank you.

I think that you should still run RWH, even if it's on a smaller and fourm-based scale -the idea shouldn't stop when the servers do.
