Just got back from seeing it. So. Worth. The. Money.

When Hulk beat the crap out of Loki, I laughed a giddy, evil laugh.

Goodbye, I guess.

I took that more as an irresitable force hitting an immovable object, The energy had to go somewhere.

However, they did show hulk not being able to lift it, so you know that somewhere theres a plan for Cap to be able to.

EDIT:

oh, and I loved the little bit with Loki and the arrow.

And the fact that Whedon snuck a pretty offensive insult past the censors.

I took the fireworks display as the hammer going "NO." since Thor hadn't done anything special, just brought it down on the shield. Buutttt I could just be making much ado about nothing.

When Hulk punched Cap, my buddy looked at me and said "wow, that was the best part of the movie..."

Until we saw Hulk remodel Stark's office with Loki's face.

This was the best superhero-themed movie ever. If anyone says otherwise, they deserve to be on the receiving end of the Hulk vs Loki treatment.

That's only the second best part. The best part is how Loki just lies there, staring up into the ceiling, with a weak, pained rattle escaping him. "......."

LOVED IT!

After Hulk so gently showed Loki the floor, he said something, I think. But the audience (and myself) were laughing so loud I couldn't make it out. Anyone tell me what he said?
I heard Hulk say "Puny god" thru the laughter but the scene I missed the dialogue because of the laughter was when Loki tapped Stark on the chest with his toothpick of destiny. Everyone started laughing at Loki's expression when he heard the "clink ...clink" and I missed Stark's response.

I think it was something about "performance anxiety".

Took my daughter to see it. She loved it from the attack on the fortress onward. She was squirming in her seat up untill that point. heh

"So that's what it does."

She also loved the sucker punch to Thor and Ragdoll Loki.

There were so many great moments in that movie. Some of my favourite parts in no particular order are:
1. When tony prods banner with an electrical pen and then looks in his eyes for a reaction.

2. When tony calls cap a capscicle.

3. When the hulk smashes that one large alien in the top of the head and stops it.

4. hulk vs loki at stark tower.

5. when the two boys are yelling at each other and cap wants tony to "go put your armor on" and then cap asks him to go get his armor on in a nice way.

6. when thor had loki on the cliff and thor starts to tell loki something but gets slammed off the cliff and loki says "im listening"

7. when tony is lying on the ground and hulk gives him a rude awakening.

too many things to put down.... oh wait....

8. That guy is playing galaga!

The Thor hitting Cap's shield went off the way it did because Joss actually knows the shields properties. It is an alloy of adamantium and vibranium. It has the property of absorbing all kinetic energy from impacts and redirecting it in the general direction it came from. This is why the shield can bounce off objects so cleanly. So when Thor hit the shield the full force of his hammer swing came right back at him.

Me and my wife have been sick the last cpl of days, but both felt better today.

I was laughing so hard that I literally almost passed out at this scene. I had the tunnel vision, the light headedness, got sweaty. Best scene in the whole movie.

Nooo, though had I seen that at the time I created this screen name some ten years ago, it could have been. Used to play Magic all the time...*Coughs* I mean uh, no! Never!

During my watch, the theater nearly, collectively, peed itself on that scene.
