I recently got access to the mecha pack, and while it's just as awesome as I was thinking, there's a small hole that's been bugging me a bit, specifically about the jetpack.
Don't get me wrong, it's great that we have a jetpack of any sort in the game now, and it's doubly nice that the one we got is so good to boot. The problem is that, as nice as it is, it just doesn't fit aesthetically in some cases. Specifically I'm thinking of the contrast between the 'chunky' and 'compact/sleek' mecha styles. The two different wing options are a good example - both are amazing looking, but the Komadori wings are more compact than the Shrike (both while open and closed) and better fit a character with a more compact, sleeker aesthetic to their costume.
The thing that bugs me about the jetpack is that, unlike with the wings, we only have a representative of one of those styles - the chunky one. There's nothing *wrong* with what we have, but it feels incomplete.
Before I saw the first screenshots of the jetpack, I had been hoping for a much more compact 'flat' style that fit closer to the character's back for a particular character of mine. The thing is, geometry that almost exactly fits that particular idea already exists - the central section of the jetpack or of either of the wings. Stripped of either the wings themselves or the large rocket pods and their struts, any of those pieces would make a quite serviceable 'compact/sleek' style jetpack with relatively little modification (mostly just transplanting the wing-pack jet exhausts onto the exhaust-less jetpack central bit, and possibly adding a second set of exhausts higher up on the back for whichever one was used).
Is there any chance of a modified piece like this being added to the set in any way? My dimensionally-displaced-starfighter-pilot-from-the-future character would be extremely happy to have her jetpack again.

Please can we have a few things;
-Vanguard Backplate (Back Detail)
-Longbow pattern (Pattern for tight tops and bottoms)
-Warden Helmet (Hat)
-Longbow grenades chest detail (Chest Detail)
-The belt/webbing over jacket from the soldiers in the Vanguard base (Belt for Jackets, Chest Detail for jackets)
Please, Dink, I truly am begging now
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

New Rularuu weapons are needed too

Hi Dink,
With the water blast power set coming in the semi-near future, I was wondering if we might consider some aquatic-style clothing options. Specifically, I was looking for something that resembled a wetsuit, with both zipped and unzipped fronts for both male and female characters, and maybe some fins/flippers for your feet. Would be also a good time to consider that scale mail I keep mentioning ...
Or maybe, and this is being very fanciful, I realize, armor pieces (shoulders, chest, gloves, boots, belt) that looks like it was carved from shell (like with nautilus detailing).
Also maybe mesh tops for both sexes that look like they might have been made from fishing nets?
Thank you for your consideration.
With water coming out I also want to bump my request for liquid parts on costumes. AFAIK The costume creator lacks any kind of fluid filled clear container hooked up to the person aside from the brain-in-jar head, and very little of the costume creator is really 'SCIENCE' looking vs just tech IMO. I have long thought we needed more science and more liquids in there.
This was my brainstorm thread for weapons that went no where.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=288939
The important thing to me, is that we don't need the tech to actually do LIQUID as in moving around and all that. It can just be a tank shape that glows and is presumed full like in this art I came across. Full bottles of colored liquid can be added to almost anything and look awesome!

"Firstly without sucking up too much the work you guys have been doing is fantastic, and I have to say I am enjoying what i've seen coming out of the team the last year.
That said I sent you a message about a year ago about the Imperial Defense Chest detail piece, the question was asking if you could give some information on why we did not recieve the full armored version of that costume piece here's a link to the IDF shock trooper wearing it http://paragonwiki.com/w/images//a/a5/ShockTrooper2.jpg
Now you told me that the costume piece had to pass a certain amount of criteria to be allowed for player use, and I let it go especially after some one else claimed they got an official word on it and the chest detail was clipping to much on the player and wasn't scaling right. Not trying to say what you told me wasn't acceptable but the two comments meshed well enough to form a valid point.
However, a thought occured to me as I was fiddling around with the costume editor and this is where we get to the meat of the email. Would it be possible to sepperate the collar and back portion of the Chest detail and create it as a back pack option? I got the idea from the elemental order "back pack", basically we already have two frontal chest detail's for the IDF would it be possible and aleviate some of the scaling/ clipping issues(if any) if the back armor was implemented this way?
Thanks for your time"
Basicly the qeustion is would this be a viable option? And if so could it be applied to other chest details that were made more for npc's then the player model? Such as the vanguard back option that techbot has been wanting for ages?

Oh gods, I would *kill* for the IDF proper armour. The front plate just doesn't cut it for many concepts
If we got the Olympian, Resistance and PPD parts as full wrap around, with 'clipping' allowed for player discretion, why not the same for IDF? It makes no sense...
(And the VG back plate IS a back detail. The last excuse given was 'back details aren't possible like that at the moment'. Which, y'know, is now provably no longer true....so...)

We also need Black Knights and Talons of Vengeance costume sets.
And another Weapon pack for staffs. Even the Black Knights got staffs!!
Set must be on market.

Thanks for the awesome work, Dink!

But yes, I want them bad, and the big IDF pieces too.
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.
Proper back details didn't exist when the plates (there are actually two) were created. They probably don't work properly with player models, specifically with the body sliders.

I probably asked for this a million pages ago, but it's worth repeating
Can we please either get the Ghoul shackles, or shackles in general?
The tri-corner hat has already been made. It was briefly in the costume editor (but not actually purchasable in the store) way back in October and the powers-that-be have been sitting on it ever since. Seems pretty damn stupid to create something you don't intend on releasing.

I know that nothing has really been done rularuu-wise since the original weapons were put in, but i had some ideas for new ones, and maybe as a wish..that we could earn the rulu-shin pieces in game.
Rulu-shin costume pieces - maybe tie them to an accolade dealing with the shadow shard?
Rularuu spear - for staff
giant eye-blade - titan weapons
an overseer eye-gun - for beam rifle
two small overseer eyeball pistols - Dual pistols
a thinner overseer eyeball fun - for assault rifle.

Btw is there any chance for a broadsword version of Excalibur? or more swords in general of the barbarian and excalibur's design? Black night swords are awesome but are kinda thick for me. Though I still want them lol

Similarly, could we please make Jet Boots and the various Jet Packs fire up when jumping so we can simulate jump jets? Pretty please? I'd be OK if that came as a separate costume bit option.

I wanted to resist doing this, but I figure I might as well. You know how I've been suggesting adding a more muscular texture to female characters for the last three or four years? Well, that's mostly because I have a couple of specific characters I want to make. And courtesy of Alex, I now have an picture perfect representation of what one of them should look like:
This is the much more proper form of Xanta from the first pic I posted in the thread. I get that I'll never have a female character who looks like that just because the costume editor can't do this physique, but a more muscular texture that looks like this would go a LONG way.
I also want to point out that while I know a "more" muscular texture for females exist in the game that just aren't available to players, it's really not very muscular, objectively speaking. To my eyes, if ever we get such a texture, it would have to be on the more "ripped" end of the scale. I get that some people don't like that kind of look, but to me that's what the base skin is for. Because, really, adding a more muscular skin than the base that's only more muscular by a tiny amount if you stop to look for it specifically seems like it would be missing the point.
And besides, if we can get a functionality that supports swapping skin textures under certain Tights with Skin, then I figure we don't have to restrict ourselves to just one new skin texture. We could have several.

I think it would take a tech change for weapons, but arrows could be made to work with an illusion created by clever quiver(hehe) placement.
(it especially bugs me when my TW tank pulls that giant axe out of thin air...)
