  1. With water coming out I also want to bump my request for liquid parts on costumes. AFAIK The costume creator lacks any kind of fluid filled clear container hooked up to the person aside from the brain-in-jar head, and very little of the costume creator is really 'SCIENCE' looking vs just tech IMO. I have long thought we needed more science and more liquids in there.

    The important thing to me, is that we don't need the tech to actually do LIQUID as in moving around and all that. It can just be a tank shape that glows and is presumed full like in this art I came across. Full bottles of colored liquid can be added to almost anything and look awesome!

    Why does it have to stop? No one is getting sued, no one with a name that bothers anyone gets to keep it. Paragon gets to keep +1 population and potentially cash shop income. Where's the need, and where's the advantage, to banning them over this? At any number of harmless offenses.
  4. The thing that amazes me is how people pick up on the buzz words I always laugh at and say will NEVER catch on. To see 'The CW' typed out is almost as jarring as when people were saying stuff was 'Upin' (oo-pin).
  5. I think it's interesting they haven't used the Assassin Strike mechanic.
    /Devices has cloaking device...

    The mine and bomb could be a grenade-likes short range GTAoE's on a delay or something (we already have grenade animations and widgets), and while hidden they executes as they do now.

    Could easily work the turret suggestion you made into that as well.

    I would love to see this added to my buffs... everyone goes for softcap defenses now so I was leveling it fully expecting to be a one trick pony with my T9 bubble. If they added significant absorb to one or both I would definitely feel more useful.
  8. I get suggestions, but I'm having trouble with this 'NEED' part. Why do we 'NEED' to stop drop and roll and spend dev time on these rather than new power sets? Why do they 'NEED' to be fixed?

    Also, wouldn't devices fix be better off coming as part of a blaster patch that also put in new secondaries and revamped the other secondaries along with them? Why do we 'NEED' to just stop and fix this stuff rather than continue forward?

    This is key for me. Need screenshots before I can plan that.

    I'm holding off on my MM and controller plans until I see the descriptions for the full set of Nature Affinity (posted by the devs that is). I have a spriggarn/nature elemental type character I've always wanted to do. I would very much like her to be a tankermind, but we'll see if nature is any good for that before I commit. Just holding the name for now.

    I actually HAVE a water elemental character who is KM/Regen colored like water, which I love on paper but never ever play. We'll see what the water effects look like and maybe I'll reroll. But only if they get my message I'm going to post later here:

  10. Forget top/bottom. Everything is done by tab, which can be dragged around to the top/bottom, made into new windows, whatever you want. Right click a tab and there are options to edit what channels you want it to show and all that.

    +4/x8. The reaons some people stop at a certain point is for Architecht Entertainment mission tickets. You can only earn so many per mission and +4/x8 will obliterate your ticket maximum long before you clear a map. Depending on what your character can handle and how quickly they can handle it, it may be better to defeat more enemies which are weaker to get tickets faster. For a PL it's just about experience though, AFAIK.
  11. Because you're not hitting diminishing returns, the math is pretty harsh. Every bonus is based on a percentage, so you basically want to use every slot you get on the very strongest and slowest attack you have available and slot it for recharge and damage.

    On slower sets, I'm a fan of slotting damage auras to finish things off that I beat down to <5%

    Only if they make it niche. There are already lots of FX in the game for this sort of thing in the form of auras, from Tarot cards to bats and fireflies/flies. Plus what's been made for beast mastery.

    In an effort to not seem cynical, I'll also say that the Post Your Best Costume thread is another good source. It's especially good to watch that thread when new sets hit. Lots of people make costumes based on an entire set that they modify outward from while having fun with the new parts. If you go back you'll see lots of celestial+X, and fire/ice+X sets.

    lol... really though, I like how they put it in an article on BBC where even when we had found calendars going to 2012, you have to think about the scale of that. This wasn't 1990 when they made the calendars, it was thousands of years ago. This is not a PROPHECY OF DOOM it's a civilization being hopeful that they will last for thousands of years. Do you really think the U.S./E.U. will still be here and we'll be living the way we do in FOUR THOUSAND YEARS.

    These guys wanted that. They pushed mathematics forward constantly, and one of the chief things they did with it was dream, calculate, and attempt to fathom as much future for themselves as they could possibly find stones to display. That's kind of beautiful.
  16. The same things I've done since the beginning...

    Get on a hero with recall friend, stand on the roof of a building in atlas near the top of the sky box, and invite random people in the zone under lv5, to preach the gospel that is the enabled team teleport prompt and the random invite decline.

    SS+SJ in a lumpy area like TV can be fun just running around, and I used to do that a lot, but then I discovered flash games and cheap-o steam games like Audio Surf, so I play those while standing on top of buildings doing the above.

    If all else fails, zone event surfing.
  17. I have always wanted to do 8x /Rad corruptors. AM and leadership, times eight. You're right though defense is easy to softcap if you count on eight people running maneuvers. You would want something resist based, debuff capable, and with status protections. Only the sonic buff set comes to mind.

    I'm not sure if all a MM can outdps a corruptor. I really just have no idea what high end MM dps looks like. But I will say that your corruptors can't really match the damage variation of some of the MM sets.

    'Best' MM?

    Yeah I'm stepping back from /thermal now that I've tried it. I realize after looking over the set in-game that it has nothing to actually defend MYSELF with. No to hit debuffs, defense/resist, the extra heal won't hit myself obviously. Definitely leaning /dark now.

    I like demons/dark a lot on paper. The pets seem to set themselves up vs fire/cold, so my resist toggle fits to give them rounded resists. Soul Mastery fits with /dark both in stats and theme. I have defense help, and I like that the set tends to lean on offensive actions so I can effectively lead the charge in bodyguard mode, vs having to always turn around and target pets. Even my heal is off whatever I'm fighting.

  19. So I just got out of my time machine... I was on the test server in the future trying out this new Water based blast set! I know I should really wait for it to be on the present test server but I just COULDN'T WAIT.

    Now. I come to you today-now and risk the stability of the space time continuum so that we might avert a crisis in that time by preventing it from happening. You see, this water power set, was doing very poor damage against fires on buildings during hellion arson attacks! Because it is primarily smashing and fire/cold are secondary types, it did not damage the fire patches very much and not AT ALL with some powers!

    Please Cryptic -or wait I didn't go all the way back did I. Oh well, I've typed this much!- please, Paragon Studios... make some special tag or effect for water blast so that it can heroically save the burning buildings like it should! You can't have your blaster's primary powers out-done by temporary glorified squirt guns anyone can grab from a fire marshall. :/
  20. What would this add to gameplay?

    We already can give an electric melee / dark armor brute some fire blasts and let him fly invisible hastened with leadership running, or all kinds of crazy combos. Unless you're just talking about blatantly paying your way into building overpowered sets, it looks like a lot of work to add and rebalance a bunch of stuff we can already do.
  21. I agree that the tech side needs more work if you want to see this. What we do see evidence of, like in SoA's and anyone who takes patron mace mastery, is that we can have multiple weapons on a character that are drawn.

    If we can have the toggles change the attributes of the attacks, can these new attacks call up a different weapon?

    Having the toggle activation 'put away' any weapons would clear the old one from your hand, and the 'draw animation' for each weapon would simply be the weapon coming forward from the forearm. Then under power customization you would pick your material like liquid metal, sand, fields, etc. All the powers would 'inheret' the power customization choice, but call up different weapons that appear to slide up forward and out of the metal goop or sand or whatever.
  22. If I'm following this right...

    We want a bolt action with a magazine. The regular shots like your T9 and T1 fire from the magazine, which we do not load or reload, it's just a gun that shoots like any other in CoH. Your special rounds are loaded by opening the bolt and inserting a per-power customized round as part of the power's animation, then firing.

    This narrows the point that must be uniform on the weapons to JUST the bolt and breach spot. The bolt lever they grab could be changed, the rest of the weapon could be any dimensions or proportions between models, and the magazine could be internal or external because we don't directly interact with that part.



    The obvious answer for build up to me, would be to load and fire more than one special shell. "Special Load" would be a buildup-like animation and the next special shot you fired instead of Load->Fire, would be Load, Load, Load, Load -> Fire, Fire, Fire, Fire.

    EDIT--
    Four AoE's or four burst attacks sound OP but you gotta factor all this animation time killing your DPA. Even if IS four 16xAoE's in a row, in that much animation time (4x load + 4x fire) you could have activated a full rotation of attacks on a regular +100% build up power for double damage. If you fired a cone(10), AoE(16), pierce(5), and a burst(1) that'd be 32, +100% damage count that as 64. 4x16=64 hits. It's a rough guesstimate, and it could be pretty OP to fire a burst damage attack four times in a row, granted, but we'll let the devs crunch the numbers. Maybe make the burst damage ammo a bit toned down compared to other burst attacks in the game. Or, just have it vary by ammo. The AoE fires four times, the cone six or seven, the line five, the burst damage only two or three. Whatever.
  23. I like it as long as it goes along with the AT's intent instead of turning them into another melee character. It should only give Ranged/AoE defense in addition to the damage, not typed defense or any melee.
  24. I'm not a fan of /dark or electric in general, and I think AR begs for build up because of the timing and execution of full auto which /devices does not have. /cold's armor power uses the ice armor graphic which I hate. Energy/Energy/Force doesn't really look matched at all.

    My vote would be for fire/fire/fire. Not that it's the best blaster ever, but it has merits, can't go wrong with picking fire for damage, and your other options aren't so hot.
  25. The only experience that doesn't seem 'right' is knock back. I don't want to give a detailed reply and derail the thread with nit picking, but it seems like there's not enough of a margin between magnitudes of knockback and that the whole effect should scale with more degrees.
