What have you done in game just to be entertained when you have been bored with the game?

I've been with CoX since the start, more or less. I've taken extended breaks along the way but I've always come back.

Along the way I have found myself bored with my toons but couldn't bring myself to not log on to the game. I'm sure I am not alone in this.

My question; what have you done in game to entertain yourself when the game didn't really hold your interest? I have a few examples such as going to the Shadow Shard with my En/En blaster (my first toon, Censored Man) and stunning the floating eyeballs just to watch them plummet into the abyss.

Please share your anecdotes!

Confusing Embalmed never gets less funny.
Flying up to the top of Valor bridge and energy punching things off doesn't either.
Touring the Shadow Shard only using the geysers is fun.
Sometimes I'd go work on kill x badges

Longbow Spines Warden.
Confuse.
Enjoy.

Also set up one vs one matches between Longbow Wardens.

Used Mass Confuse or a similar ability on a high-level spawn of Talons of Vengeance and watching them obliterate each other in a manner of seconds with their aoe abilities.

Used confuse in Siren's Call on NPC battle spawns.

Used confuse anywhere.

Used confuse nowhere.

Worked out how to use confuse nowhere.

Here's another...

Using Siphon Power with my namesake Plant/Kin 'troller (@Roger the Shrubber) to draw mobs to the Legacy Chain NPCs in The Hollows then buff said NPCs with Fulcrum Shift.

I'm confused...

Architect Entertainment.

Level 50 stormie...go to hallows...find a group on top of a roof...hit them with Gale...see how far they can fly.

The same things I've done since the beginning...

Get on a hero with recall friend, stand on the roof of a building in atlas near the top of the sky box, and invite random people in the zone under lv5, to preach the gospel that is the enabled team teleport prompt and the random invite decline.

SS+SJ in a lumpy area like TV can be fun just running around, and I used to do that a lot, but then I discovered flash games and cheap-o steam games like Audio Surf, so I play those while standing on top of buildings doing the above.

If all else fails, zone event surfing.

Luddite Golf: Hold/Fear/Immob a Luddite in Cap city. Teleport them to the ledge overlooking the Black Market below. Hit them with Nemesis Staff and see if I can get them to land on players at the Market.

It's Raining (Goldbricker) Men!: Use Darkest Night AoE debuff anchor to round up a whole bunch of Goldbrickers and have them fly after me. I lead them over the Black Market truck and then I drop down and under the truck's awning. They fly down to chase and hit the death zone sphere and about 20 Goldbrickers fall from the sky onto the players at the Market.

You First!: If I see a bunch of players hanging out by a mission entrance. I jump into their group and say in local chat: "K, everyone in!"

Scrapyarders' Parade of Drone Death: I pull a bunch of Scrapyard's Scrapyarders to the drone by the hospital, and if Scrapyard himself isn't agro'd by that, the Scrapyarders are and they come running to attack the drone, which always wins. The unending Scrapyarders reinforcements creates an unending parade of self-droning.

When Bane Spiders falling from great heights made them basically unaggro-able and unmoving punching bags, which, however, could be moved with knockback and teleport foe, I would do this to scare folks coming out of Recluse's Tower:

Back before the aggro cap was nerfed I'd run around Perez Park with my Tanker and gather a veritable horde of enemies and sit near the Atlas entrance with a horde of Skulls and Hellions all clambering over each other trying to hurt me. It seemed like there was always a Kheldian who'd eventually come along and blast them for a bit before going 'Yay! Badge!' and flitting away.

With my level 50 FF Defender, I like to stand next to low level enemies (ideally on rooftops, often in the Hollows) and activate Force Bubble.

With my Sonic/Sonic Defender, Aria of Effect, I occasionally stand next to a Police Drone with Disruption Field toggled on the Drone and dance as if I've turned it into a radio. Sometimes I "sing" in Local while doing it.

Back when the new AP was rolled out I had some fun trying to climb the sides of the buildings with just Sprint and Ninja Run.

Level 8 enemies.

On a Sunday morning, I once herded so many winterlords and their underlings in PI that I crashed Victory.

Held Positron hostage for a while.


Back in the day, you could deposit things in coalition members storage bins. So on April 1st, me and a few sgmates filled Eurocore's storage bins (ALL OF THEM) with crap. Tier 1 trainers, small resistance inspirations, etc.


Did a kill all Sister Psyche. Took a LONG time.

Back before the change to Dark Astoria, I used to take my Invul/Nrg Tank in there and play with Adamaster. It was fun going toe-to-toe with him. I couldn't kill him but he couldn't kill me either. I always laughed when he was "stunned."

Roll a Brawl/WP Brute and level him up to 50. Then incarnate him.

/he's 46.4 at the moment, but I'm workin' on it.

Since they released Ninja Run ... hop to the top of a building and see how far I can get in a particular zone without ever touching ground.


Sight seeing in the Shadow Shard.. not badge hunt, although I have done that too, just flying around checking out the various floating islands

Someone else mentioned it .. street hunts for badges. Keeping and eye on globals in case anything interesting comes up while I take out enough Skulls, Hellions, Clockwork, Lost, Vahzilok and COT to earn all the defeat badges in Perez Park or take my Vigilante to Sharkshead and work on COT Bosses, Cold Demons, Freakshow Tanks, BP Spirits and COT Mages.

hang around ap watching costume contest sometimes interject funny stuff into broadcast

jump off buildings and try to activate a travel power before i hit ground

do pvp Wentworths place low bids for hi price items and hi bids for low price items

tickle people on chat channel

visit the shards, do SSAs, do hero tips

make a going rogue toon and try to get to 20 on same day

make a toon on german or french or english server and make fun of them in native language

vist exalted server

whistle at wicked wendy in daisy duke shorts

o yeah and i make a total tool out of people in global channels

I'm not sure I'm ever exactly bored, but sometimes I've been known to do odd things. Other times, I just sit back and let the game entertain me. Occasionally I like to admire the attention to detail our devs have put into the environment. And when I think I've seen it all I can always count on the fact that our devs are a bunch of closet perverts.

I hope it never gets to the point when I start doing weird things.
