  1. While i have asked for Rularuu parts repeatedly, i would tonight wish to post some annoying clipping issues which i have discovered with the Rularuu's Talons costume pieces.

After preforming the "Spin" claws attack the weapon models would turn sideways, and whenever i used them with monstrous hands, the weapon on the open hand would clip.

So were there any plans to finish the bird costume pieces? We got a couple of heads, thanks. A few beaks, nice. We already had wings, thanks. Talons, check. But...

    ...feathered tails?
    ...feathered chest?
...feathered pants? (bonus points if they blend with the talon Monstrous legs)
    ...feathered arms?
...some kind of talony-glove that blended with the feathered arm?

Also "nice to have" (but not strictly necessary, though would bring birds up to par with cats):

...bird texture patterns (i.e. like the Cheetah and Jaguar spot patterms, only pick a few bird patterns). For the record I could argue wolves and bovines need their own texture patterns too.
...wing color variants: instead of strictly the "edge color" and "trailing" color we have now, add a couple other variants from the bird world

    Also nice, wing emotes:

--/em wingdisplay -- wings open out straight and up at 45° angle and hold

--/em wingspread -- similar to wingdisplay only out at a 90° angle (wing edge parallel to ground)

--/em wingflap -- some variant of the "few flaps before landing" animation, just one that we can trigger while on the ground. Imagine how annoyed birds sit there and flap their wings a few times.

--/em wingpoint -- some kind of "pointing at you" with the arm AND wing pointing

--/em wingthreaten -- I can visualize in my head but hard to desribe, but it would be like /em angry only incorporate the wings

Just seems to me there are alot of emotes that would be fun to have a "winged" variant...right now the wings are kinda passive outside flying and jumping. Not complaining, the wings and all their various animations are VERY cool. I still marvel at them all these years later.

Still, wolves, cats, and bulls got their Monstrous Fur and Animal Fur, and a number of tails and animated tails. The avians seems to have gotten only half, or even less than half, their due.
....please god yes on everything in this post.
  3. I approve wholeheartedly, the game needs MOAR RULARUU.....all of my /Signed.
  4. Oh great and mighty Dink, may we have Rularuu weapons for Staff fighting, Titan weapons, Dual Pistols, Beam rifles, and all the other rifle sets?
  5. RE: Dechs
okay, but even considering not restoring raid functionality, they said that bases will get NO love, which means, no new items, the loss of any raid effects from defensive items (the animations were useful in decor), no universal access, nothing.
Wouldn't it be acceptable to at least inquire as to what a recode of the current system (leaving out raid pathing and such) would take?
  6. Allright, since i asked the question regarding bases at today's coffee table talk i suppose i should elaborate on my question, now that the time constraints of a livestream don't apply.

My question to Zwillinger was this "Would a ground up re-design of bases be possible sometime in the future?" To which i was given the response that many base builders have recieved, which is that base code is spaghetti, full of uncommented sections, impossible to work with, and "Like playing jenga on fire."

I understand all of this, i understand that it is essentially a legacy system and will never get any more love EVER, but my idea was a ground up redesign, by which i meant, create an entirely NEW base system, essentially identical to the old, but with properly commented code, things that actually work together and wont cause vast swaths of meticulous base art to vanish into the ether when something small gets changed.

To completely redesign the bases would be a massive undertaking, not gonna lie, and I admittedly don't have the foggiest about the types of coding involved apart from standard coding knowledge, so i was trying to get a dev to comment on what would be essentially, the resource requirements to make a redesign happen.

Also it should be noted that Synapse did say that he really wanted to do things with bases.

So Poll time then: Do you enjoy Supergroup Bases and would you like to see a redesign that would include raid functionality and a recoded building system? Y/N
  7. Thanks a ton Toast, that has given me some great ideas for my base designs.
  8. I haven't touched base building in quite some time, so i had a few questions for the community in general, two of which deal with base building and one of which deals with the forums.

The first question is, do we still have a method for creating double wide doors? i know there used to be a trick to it, but i don't remember it/it might have been fixed.

Secondly, can someone make a guide for/point me to a guide for weaving of base items (particularly those magic ruin looking spires)?

Thirdly, and maybe most importantly, do we have any devs who even look at this forum anymore? I know that a long time ago, in the mists of a time long past, we wrote to ExLibris, got a legitimate stacking tool put into the game (i understand it's not perfect, but it's better than the old desk method) And i believe we had a forum dev or a dev in general assigned to us. I know from hearsay that the base code is a horrible pile of spaghetti code, with no comments, things that barely work tacked on over and over again, and I know that this isn't the most monumental thing on the Dev's to do list, but might they be able to give us a little of their time? maybe post once in a while?

Apart from some of the really really good mission designers, we are the only ones in the game who make anything passing for "Art" with our (read everyone but me) soaring architectural masterpieces. Would it be too much to ask for some bones to be thrown our way? (not in a literal sense please.)
  9. ah, i wasn't aware that it was merely a costume overlay power, i had thought (ignorantly since i don't possess the code) that it was merely costume pieces.
  10. Rularuu weapons for Titan weapons, dual pistols, staff fighting, beam rifle.
  11. I know that nothing has really been done rularuu-wise since the original weapons were put in, but i had some ideas for new ones, and maybe as a wish..that we could earn the rulu-shin pieces in game.

Rulu-shin costume pieces - maybe tie them to an accolade dealing with the shadow shard?
    Rularuu spear - for staff
    giant eye-blade - titan weapons
an overseer eye-gun - for beam rifle
two small overseer eyeball pistols - Dual pistols
a thinner overseer eyeball fun - for assault rifle.
  12. So this is partly an Idea, and partly a question, with the question part being solved by the idea.

The question is this: for those who attended one of the recent fan summits, there was a costume part giveaway. Those costume pieces belong to the Rulu-shin faction in game, namely the chest and arm eyeballs ect.

The idea, is to add in an accolade badge to unlock both those costume pieces, and maybe some new customizable rularuu pieces, both weapons and armor, maybe some sort of staring eyeball cape.

I would say that the accolade would have to be worthy of all these unlocks..something like beating all the shard TFs 5 times and the Cathedral of Pain 5 times. yes that includes Quaterhell. But i see it as a worthy sacrifice to earn costume pieces.

    flame away...or /sign away
  13. Some sort of tangible costume reward, or an accolade for completing all of the Shadow Shard TFs. maybe get the Rulu shin costume pieces for beating all of the shadow shard TFs and completing the Cathedral of Pain?
  14. I had a thought given that we've recieved new weapon models in several of the T9 VIP packs and we have a few new weapon based powersets.

How about some new and quite awesome looking Rularuu weapons? Rularuu Titan sword/mace/hammer, Rularuu spear... or scythe.
  15. I've got one...how about the placeable in game models for the old Items of Power?

make it take several Cathedral of Pain wins to earn em, maybe even 300 or something on that order of magnitude, but earning them just for looks and not for the abilities they used to grant would be awesome. And afaik, the models are still in the game code.
  16. I had a question for the scrapper forums at large.

When deciding on which interface incarnate power to choose to build, what is the top suggestion these days? Is reactive still the king for pure damage? or are some of the newer ones like Degenerative and Preemptive better?
  17. I know they technically already exist in game, and they were given out to attendee's at one of the meet'n'greets, but could we please somehow get the Rulu Shin costume pieces?

Also i suppose some sort of feathered option for the chest, for bird characters, and maybe better draconic heads of some sort?, maybe asian dragon shaped?, with tails to go along.

    Claws/Regen

I myself am working on a Claws/Regen, and i have found what seem to be three schools of thought regarding it, yet i'm not sure how to build any of the three.

One school, reccomends your standard kinetic combat sets and trying to soft cap s/l
another reccomends you focus on perma-hasten/psychotic amounts of recharge
the third, which i couldn't find a build on, reccomended passive regen capping.

I would like a cirtique of the build posted below if anyone with experience wouldnt mind.

  20. I agree that the above listed things would be nice, but in addendum to your suggestion, i would say that they should add the option of replacing boundary walls with pictoral scenes of various environments where we might see fit to put our bases, such as outer space, the deep ocean...maybe even within the earth's mantle layer.

    Basic Telepad

even with all those functions Klaw...people will still want to have their SG base for extra storage. Plus, you don't have a personal inventory for massive amounts of enhances or insps do you? and zone TP is a power pool choice. Plus bases also serve as an artistic outlet.

  23. i just had an interesting thought for this...what would it take for the devs to port in pieces of the environment? miniature Hamidon spires, pieces of the Web array like the ones we wreck in the STF, tombs and crypts and gravestones ala dark astoria, maybe grant SGs the old Item of Power items (minus the effects) as decorations (make the unlock requirements something like running the Shadow Shard TFs a certain number of times, or maybe running the cathedral of Pain.

    Praetorian EAT

I would be in favor of a powerset based around the backpacks that the heavy and elite IDF troopers tend to get. Those things look wicked.
