I'm curious what percentage of superpacks bought was through the Paragon Reward Tokens repeatable. I have personally spent quite a bit of money on Paragon Points, but I didn't buy any of my superpacks through the Market.

I bought a total of 79 Superpacks; 7 of those were with tokens. I didn't get the Black Wolf, but didn't want it anyway. The rest of it I've been putting to good use and don't consider the money wasted at all.

small sample, but none of mine were.

My pattern seems to be buy chunk of points for something, use leftover points on super packs.

Being VIP again and having a monthly chunk of points arriving in the mail might change things- we'll see.

I have enjoyed the Super Packs I've gotten....although I will say that opening them while drinking usually prompts more purchasing. :P

Don't I know you???

Actually, you're correct. I made a typo that affected very rare (more precisely, I used an older version of my spreadsheet that had the same typo I made the last time, forgot to sync dropbox). This affects ATIOs, Reward Merits, Catalysts, and the Black Wolf Pet.

The correct numbers for those are:

Enhancement Catalysts: 67,005
ATIOs: 384,106
Merits: 30,764,225
Black Wolf Pets: 2,482 (one in 242 packs)

(In every case, significantly more than my prior calculations).

I try to at least dabble in all the mini-games offered. In the case of superpacks, my sole purchase of packs was with a Reward Token.

The subsequent gameplay ('opening' the packs for the 'thrill' of discovery) was duller than dirt and the rewards were 'meh'. I won't be wasting any more tokens on this nonsense and I'm sure as heck not going to waste Paragon Points on them.

To be honest, I already had a spreadsheet with all these numbers precalculated as ratios from the superpack testing I did in beta and the numbers posted by the devs on the card weights. So it wasn't that hard to add a new set of calculations that scaled those upward to 600,000 packs.

The hard part was coming up with the estimates for superpack distribution (what the rarity mix was per pack) which required opening 2000 superpacks on beta. I'll admit that was a little crazy, although it took less time than when I ran 700+ radio missions to measure the Pool D drop rate in Issue 9 beta because I had a "feeling" it wasn't the 10% that was reported (it turned out to be 7.2%).

I like the super packs. Didn't think I would, but I do. I bought a 24 pack for myself right after Christmas, on my birthday, and one after I'd worked waaaaay too much overtime.

These are splurges, and what I get from them are luxury items. I really enjoy having a stash of unslotters, the enhancement (and other) boosters, reward merits, stuff like that.

But I think it's important to recognize that they ARE just luxury items. There is nothing necessary in these packs.

I think the devs got this one just right, actually. Helpful, time-saving stuff, which is in no way "pay to win".

If they did this I would even buy some Supergamble Packs, but I doubt they will.

Opening up 2000 super packs to collect data? There's a reason I'm not a chemist or a physicist. Mathematicians don't need to collect data, people just give it to them.

I was wondering about the ATIOs. Does it check to see which ones you have if you have not claimed any?

I am pretty sure it checks to see which ones you need so that it can give you something else!

Really big spender here. I've bought 6 (36 cards). That's 1/100,000th of the total sold. Using stipend points of course. Without my ginormous purchases, the whole thing is a fail.

None of mine. I save the Reward Tokens for things I cannot get any other way.

total kick to the gut

Since I got so many of these from super packs I tend to keep a stack of these readily available at all times.
I leave them in my email and just claim them when I need them.

I do the same with the Experienced powers I get. If you claim a bunch of them you have to wait until it recharges. If you claim them one at a time you can use them instantly.

I don't know if the Revival and Restore powers work the same, but I'm assuming they do.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the large Team Inspirations obtained through Super Packs last a full 5 minutes.

I have not found anything in the packs to be useless. Using the metric butt ton of inspirations I've gotten, I can start from 0% and stay at the Incarnate soft-cap on defense for almost 2 hours.

This. Reward tokens are kind of precious. You never know what might show up. Points stuff; well, you can always buy points or just use free points.

edit: I made 1.7 bil off merits/converters I got from my packs. I am happy.

Interestingly, I have hoarded my inf... First bil in 8 years of playing.

Amen. Let's stop hiding stuff behind Supergamble Packs as they are popular enough to stand on their own. Allow for us to be able to get the costume and the black wolf now please. As stated no need to continue to play hide and seek as it is in fact TOTALLY annoying.
