Avengers Teaser

I hope that while the less powered members have their moments, that the powerhouses are treated as incompetent and just get smashed a bunch. This was my mine gripe about the DCAU.

Side question:

If Avengers does really well (not just average, but pulls in the big bucks), will that signal whoever is in control of making a Justice League movie that a great team-up movie can be made, or does it matter how well Marvel does with this movie?

I like Capt A, Iron Man, et al, but I'd rather see JL if I had to choose a team.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

If the Avengers movies makes mad amounts of $$$ I would say that someone in Warner Bros would definitely take notice and launch up another JLA movie. However this is Hollywood we're talking about. WB will probably look for the lowest common denominator in the Avengers movie and assume that's what made it a success and try to base the JLA movie off of that.

That's Tony being Tony. Big Ego and smartest man in the room trying to size up a bunch of individuals he just met. Also since this is Ironman's third film, ignoring the cameo in The Incredible Hulk, he is the best known hero of team to the general movie going public.

Thor and Captain America are probably the next two most recognized since IH was several years ago and the public has short memories and the apparent villain is from Thor with the apparent McGuffin from Captain America.

I think its all about the former and not the latter. If cap is getting his knickers in a twist about Tony not having any real combat ability outside his suit, he's a ding-dong.

The reason I think his assessment has elements of the latter is because in the trailer you can see Loki catching Tony outside of his suit and chucking him out of a window. Also, I have a suspicion that if there's a team training sequence Tony may blow it off in the manner Batman did in JLU.

i find it odd...having reviewed the trailer again and pausing it....that the clip goes from Stark to Cap being tossed out different windows.....

Capt is super serious and rather conservative, of course he is going to be rubbed up the wrong why by Tony Stark. This is all good imo

I like the way we see Steve Rogers wearing old man clothes, this points to them thinking about the little things.

This is a song about a super hero named Tony. Its called Tony's theme.

Agree completely. If Cap doesn't have an issue with Tony on first meeting him, then they are writing one of the characters wrong.

And Cap probably does want Stark to learn how to protect himself without the suit. It's standard procedure for Cap to recognize at some point the super powered people, for whatever reason, will need to defeat an enemy without their powers (the suit in this case).

I hope that the Black Widow has some substance, and isn't just complete cheesecake.

This is a Joss Whedon film. Count on it.

Looks like Hawkeye doesnt have a mask at all...is this the Ultimate's version or something (never looked at any of the that stuff)? Its been awhile, but didn't he start off as a misunderstood villain or something? Not sure why he wouldn't have a mask...

Three things that has me a bit disappointed:
1. No Antman
2. No Wasp
3. No Scarlet Witch

I'm pretty sure Antman and Wasp were part of the founding members along with Thor, Ironman and Hulk. They both came before Captain America even, who didn't join until Issue 4 of the original 1960s comics.

Not that there shouldn't be SOME cheesecake! Part of the Black Widow's appeal is that she isn't just a guy with boobs.

Ant Man was. Wasp and Scarlett Witch came later.

No, that's incorrect. Wasp was part of the original team along with Ant-Man, Thor, Hulk and Iron-Man. She was the one who came up with the team's name.

As perhaps some salve on that wound, I read there is an Antman movie in consideration to join the stable.

To be honest, I hope not. I've heard that rumor but I think this is where Marvel could make a big mistake. Trying to shoe horn a relative unknown super hero out to the masses could kill what they've worked for up to this point. I'm not saying bringing him into something like another Avengers movie would be a problem but trying to anchor a movie around someone like that... I'm just not sure it's the right decision. The reason Marvel's movies have really worked so far is that the characters they've chosen have been big name characters that are ALMOST household names. Thor in my opinion was pushing it, but they did really well with it. So maybe I'm wrong but if all of a sudden we have a movie for every bit character then you chance running off the viewers. I mean at this point I like looking at Scarlet Johansen as Black Widow, but I can't see her in a solo movie, anyone remember Cat Woman?

All this is coming from a guy who would love to have a Luke Cage and DEMANDS a Deadpool movie...

Can't argue with you, at all. Double down on the fact that Antman never did anything for me.

But, for fans of that character - some hope.
