[QUOTE=JayboH;4420110]Ok, perhaps this might sound silly at first, but please think about it.
Now that we are nearing the end, and several of us have been around since the beginning...
1. Looking back, considering everything, which was your favorite archetype in the game?
2. In possible contrast, when it comes to your favorite character, what kind was it? List AT and the two main sets.
3. What AT did you evolve to enjoy over the years that you disliked initially?
1. Scrappers. I had more scrappers and more effective scrappers than any other AT.
2. Bully the Clown - ss/fire tank. Was my favorite concept which for my final few months on the game I made one costume on every toon a Bully the Clown. Then at some point I made an electric melee/fire armor brute and wished he had been Bully all along.
3. Easy - plant/fire dom hands down. I never thought I would have liked plant anything. I played a plant/rad troller to 50 and he was okay but when I finally hit on the plant/fire dom I was very impressed. Now he can solo so much content it just isn't fair to the NPCs most of the time. I named him Grassoline from one of the threads here on the forums. -
Quote:Yes I considered it VERY seriously. But I kept being told no..BP, since you are here, I MUST ask: Was Clown Summoning, or a Carnival Summoning primary for masterminds ever seriously considered?
I guess it would have helped if had had been a dev and not just a player... -
I pulled this from an older thread, so if it doesn't qualify I'm totally cool with that. The original pencils and design are from my son. His character is on the ground and British Hero is Henri's character from here on the forums. I did the line work so it is very amateurish.

2.0 (toon on the ground and has also gone through a costume change and Junior didn't keep the original but the colors are basically the same):

Vanessa helped Aurora unlock her true potential and break free from her ties to Sister Psyche. But through all the new freedom she still felt a calling to help Paragon and honor Shalice. Turning to her old friend Ms. Liberty, Aurora Scott has vowed to Vindicate her lost friend.
Vindictor: Infernal

Vindicator: Luminary
Why: Luminary has been collecting parts from various dimensions in order to improve herself. She continues to upgrade her hardware with parts she considers superior to any Positron could offer.
Vindicator: Mynx
Why: Mynx has been working with Synapse in order to utilize a bit of technology to bring her up to par with the likes of Cole and Marauder. She felt she had to be able to stand her own with all the new Incarnates popping up everywhere. -
I've now read the first three(or is it four) books in the Barsoom series. I loved the movie. I think the changes they made were done well and made it easier for people who haven't read the books to understand.
SPOILERS
I was concerned when I watched one preview and it mentioned an alien threat that was taking over planets. But when they turned it into the Therns using up the natural resources I was okay with that. Also the fact that they were followers of Issus fit in with the story even after what you later find out in later books. I was concerned that bringing the Therns into the mix so early would be confusing but I think it worked well. I was a bit disappointed in the River Issus only because I expected to see White Apes instead of a tribe of Green Men.
Speaking of the Green Men and Woola were great visually. I was a little disappointed with the quick once over of Sola's story but I understand why they condensed it.
SPOILERS off
Kinrad - Dajah Thoris is definitely the "damsel in distress" even though she is protrayed as a strong women. In the books she is the cause of all of John Carter's escapades in the books. It's also a theme ERB follows through the Barsoom series that I've read so far. I had to take a break because of it actually. My boss at work told me he didn't like the LOTR movies because he felt like every five seconds they were in a big fight, would win, then get in another fight ad nauseum. ERB's use of the hero going to save the woman got to me in much the same way.
My son and I really enjoyed the movie. So much that my son now wants to read the books. Which for him if it's not a comic or video game is a miracle. :-P -
I didn't get much but my best friend bought me the first two Dexter books. He knew I loved the show and wanted to read the books for comparison. I'm surprised how much of the first book they stuck to. I mean there are some discrepancies but not out and out changes yet... I am a little over half way through it ATM. Funny thing is now that I've watched the show I keep hearing the entire book in Michael C. Hall's voice.

Or move someone's heart three inches to the front... Could be more useful than you'd think.

Even if the movie sucks, I have to say I'm more impressed with the fact that half the main actors are over 60 and STILL look bad***!!!
I was flipping channels and an infomercial for Total Gym came on. I thought, dang this must be an old commercial because Chuck looks good. It was from 2010... He was 70!!!! Then I looked at my 35 year old self in the mirror and cried. -

Quote:That's good to hear. I've never understood why asymmetry was so hard though.FYI, asymmetry is still very much on the table. Fire and Ice will have it, and there's more to come. There are limitations about where it can go, but that certainly doesn't rule it out.
We have shoulder pads and a couple jackets that are not symmetrical. Those are some of things I'd like to see. Also more arm choices for the robotic arm option. Legs like Noble Savage's would just be a giant bonus! Check out Zynrgy's thread in the Art forums for more examples of cool symmetry. We know you look in there devs because some of his designs have been put in game.
And as for the excuse that asymmetry breaks emotes... Try doing some emotes with a shield toon. I seem to be able to live without certain emotes with those toons. If I lose emotes for the sake of being pretty/awesome looking, then so be it. -
"Asymmetry costs a lot in resources. Not so much geometry as in texture space. If they went nuts with asymmetrical options they would essentially knock out the bottom 10% of computers."
This makes me so sad. It's the one thing besides clown MM henchmen that I really want in game. Oh well. I guess I'll get over it now... -
Nope never had an infinite plane situation. Just the weird camp boxes and it's new since my last driver update.
I'll run the temp test you mentioned and report back. Thanks everyone! -
Okay I downloaded Speedfan and here are my readings...
Once I clean things (been busy at work) and if temps don't go down, what should I look to do. Ambient room temp is currently about 74F btw.
edit - 86C was with COH running. Once I shut it off the GPU went down to 65C and dropping.... -
So not what I wanted to hear Zombie Man.
It's not a one time occurrence for sure. I can repeat it every time I go into a warehouse map. I will take my vid card out and blow it out really well (it's time for a box cleaning anyway) and see if this helps. In the meantime is there a program you suggest for monitoring vid card temps? I see programs for cpu temps all the time but not the vid card unless I'm just missing something. -
So A couple of weeks ago I was getting horrible lag. I had not updated my drivers in a while so I did so. Now I am getting these:
Here is my COH Helper file. If you see something let me know. Oh and this is a pretty clean install on the comp. I lost my main hard drive a couple of months ago and decided at that point to just make this my game rig so there aren't a bunch of programs on here other than Steam, COH and the basic internet browsers.

I'm sure Widow and Hawkeye are going to be used as the "watchdogs" or chaperones from SHIELD and for most of the movie will be treated as such. Then somewhere along the way they will do something major to gain the others' respect. Probably once they take down a major threat, or save Tony's rear from Loki and cause the others to realize if non-supers can make a difference by working together then they should buck up and work together as well...
As for the Ant Man movie... I cringe just thinking of all the B to Z list heroes Marvel has at it's beck and call. I fear if Ant-Man sees the light of day then many of the others will too and we are back to pre-Nolan Batman days and every director and screenwriter in Hollywood will make a movie. There are just so many BETTER characters to make a movie around - Dr. Strange, Luke Cage, etc. Heck I think they could even create a Black Bolt and the Inhumans movie. I could see it being turned into a movie with a "Riddick" vibe. So I guess in the end I just don't see the mass appeal for Ant-Man. YMMV -
Quote:To be honest, I hope not. I've heard that rumor but I think this is where Marvel could make a big mistake. Trying to shoe horn a relative unknown super hero out to the masses could kill what they've worked for up to this point. I'm not saying bringing him into something like another Avengers movie would be a problem but trying to anchor a movie around someone like that... I'm just not sure it's the right decision. The reason Marvel's movies have really worked so far is that the characters they've chosen have been big name characters that are ALMOST household names. Thor in my opinion was pushing it, but they did really well with it. So maybe I'm wrong but if all of a sudden we have a movie for every bit character then you chance running off the viewers. I mean at this point I like looking at Scarlet Johansen as Black Widow, but I can't see her in a solo movie, anyone remember Cat Woman? As perhaps some salve on that wound, I read there is an Antman movie in consideration to join the stable.
All this is coming from a guy who would love to have a Luke Cage and DEMANDS a Deadpool movie... -
The babe with the power...
ALSO - My favorite quote from the whole movie:
" Hey lady that's MY head! You can't go around throwing OTHER people's heads!"
"*ref whistle* Referee! Referee!"
So funny because I thought I was the only guy in the world to like this movie enough to memorize it. Then when I started working in high school I ran a mail machine for a credit card company. Well they wouldn't let us wear headphones while running the machines, so the guy on the machine next to me would throw out quotes and the I had to say the next line and vise-versa. We would go through the Labyrinth so many times the other employees begged management to let us go back to wearing headphones. -
The Labyrinth
What!?!?
I can't help it.....
You remind me of the babe! -
Mark Ruffalo has been attached for a very long time to this film. (SDCC 2009? or 2010?) From my understanding Ed didn't agree with the direction Hulk was used in this movie.
On topic - This looks so awesome! I have high hopes that a group movie can be done well given the number of A-list actors. It helps when you have people that have become passionate about their characters and role.
Also, the Hulk CGI looks great! May cannot get here fast enough. -
LOL Dumpleberry I was just going to post on that. But I thought the cap was 16?
