Skyrim
Skyward Sword
However you might want to get him something "relating" to Diablo III like if he really wants it maybe get him a custom DIII keyboard or something like that...
Man, I glanced at the title of this thread and the first damn thing that popped into my mind is; "How about some past advice". Sigh... I really couldn't help it 
Anyways, +1 on Skyrim, especially if your boy likes to explore, I had almost 160 hours in the game before I decided to take a break.

Has he played Torchlight yet? That's a great dungeon romp in a similar vein to Diablo.

My son (14) asked for Skyrim and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Both games I can't wait to play.

Both are near flawless picks with AC having a little more life to it with the d/l content missions the franchise usually rolls out, also if he wouldn't get frustrated with mini puzzle sequences Uncharted 3 is a tight package of entertainment.

My son (11 years old) was really looking forward to Diablo III, but its release has been pushed back to January. So I was wondering if the gaming population here might have any alternative suggestions?
