Discussion: Arrrr! The Pirate Costume Power be on sale in the Paragon Market!
While these are nice and a sale is nice, these are still massively overpriced. They belong in bundles of 5 or 10 thematically related sets. The costume powers I and many are waiting to show up are the convention exclusives, which we might be willing to pay maybe 400 points for. I realise these are essentially vanity powers and cost is often high, but please don't make these the microtransation Monacle debacle for COH.
Arrrr!!
Friends don't let friends buy an ncsoft controlled project.
If ye release the Convention exclusive costumes, ye may have a deal. Avast, ghost pirate is not for I. Arr.*
*:You forgot to put a small preview of it in the Store. Almost bought it then I saw this thread to see that it'd be a waste of 600 points.

So... pay 600 points for a costume power, or use a costume slot to make a pirate costume that isn't a clone of everyone else's for free... tough choice.

I hope thats not all for this week.
Well,^^
you can do better Pirate Costumes in the Creator. So i don´t see any reason to buy this.
I hope that we´ll be through all those costume powers and that they´ll stay sunken and don´t appear again. Or that they get permanently applied to the store so we don´t get other dissapointments like this.
I know that there won´t be every week something added that everyone likes.
And thats good, because otherwise i would spend to much.
But this isn´t even something new that we don´t know.
Overall? I'll be far more excited when we get past these permanant costume powers and switch to something more like...oh say....street justice?...Please?
Regardless, if the permanant costume power prices were more along the likes of 250 - 400 points, I'd be more willing to buy them. But 600, as a sale price, is rediculous. As stated before, we can do much better in the Character Creator, for much cheaper.

Yeah, if this is the best price that Paragon can come up with....sheesh. |
i'd rather see shoulder parrots added than buy the costume code. i've made better pirates than that costume (IMHO of course), so the only thing that costume has over my own costumes is the bird. A shoulder parrot/bird i'd buy, but even for that i wouldn't pay 600 points. At 600 points you might as well be flipping that pirate's bird at me.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
The only costume codes I'd be willing to pay 600-800 points for are the convention exclusives. When you let me have my ring mistress costume (or better yet, the parts for it), then we'll talk.
Until then, this particular ship isn't leaving the harbor for me.
Whoever thought 600 Paragon Points would be a fair price for that ought to be keelhauled at the worst, and at the best at least be made to swab the bilge out.
Arrgg, you'll never take my bootie!
So its just a power. There is already the costume and aura.
Does it summon a ghost ship? Swashbuckler costume? It seems lack luster, maybe for 100-200 points?
But you get a parrot...
I've now been told that there are no female ghost pirates, which means that this power is really only suitable for the guys

Confused. Purchased the costume thinking it was permanent. The power is listed under "Tempory Powers" on my Power selection and states (from the information window): " This costume will let you dress up as a Pirate at any time for the next two weeks."
Convention code costumes, which are permanent, are listed under Inherent Powers.

Seriously. Who thought up the prices for the temp costume powers? Why would we want to pay 800 for stuff that's been in the game since, what 2007? Even at 600 it's just not worth it.
Of course you'll sell limited costume pieces when I have, like, $0 to spend. :'(
