I picked up the CoV pre-order for my boyfriend at the time, because I knew he wanted to play. The excited look on his face convinced me that if I ever wanted to spend time with him, I should get my own copy. My time in the game has now outlasted not only his interest, but the relationship as well.

I'm not an MMO gamer, I'm a City of Villains gamer.

I have not seen anything out there currently that changes that opinion for me.

I am still having the problem where it doesn't think the game/character is online when trying a character with an apostrophe in her name. Have updated to newest version, and had no problem with characters without special characters.

With City of Heroes: Freedom, the download works in stages:

Stage one allows you to get in to play with the costume creator while you are waiting for everything else to install.

Stage two lets you run the tutorial mission.

Stage three allows access to the starting zones of Atlas Park (heroes) and Mercy Island (villains)

Stage four is everything else.

I would suspect we'll be getting the New Years pack that was in Beta earlier.

On Tuesday evening, I took delivery of my first desktop in all the time I've been playing City of Heroes.

So for the first time, I could run the program with all it's settings.

Ultra Mode changed the game for me.
