I haven't watched much Futurama *Dodges bullet* so I'm curious.
Is the meme "Shut up and take my money" Something Fry actually say's in the scene most often depicted (as above)? Or was that pic just randomly choosen to go with the saying?

Wow, so Freedom is a financial success for Paragon/NCSoft then?
I haven't spent squat yet, and I'm very unlikely to start dropping hundreds of dollars n points. They're still getting my $15 a month, but I don't have enough disposable income to spend like you guys are (I can barely afford my subscription some months)
Maybe aroud tax time I'll shell out some cash for stuff, but for now I'll just enjoy the free stuff and whatever I can get with the points I have already.

"First World problems."
Given that I didn't intend to spend any money above my subscription, I'm disappointed with myself that I caved and bought a $5 costume pack. The 1600 points I had banked went to buy a 2nd enhancements bag. $20 for a bag still feels offensive to me, but it is nice to not have to run back to the vendors as often when leveling a lowbie character.
(I was startled to see that it awarded me another reward token, even though I spent only $5 on points. Shouldn't I have had to spend $15 on points to get that token?)
Spent the subscription points I had on the Barbarian set, beam weapons and the Tux cossie part.
I actively dislike the rocket board so I won't be getting that. Not planning to spend money on points really, there's nothing much else I want.

This seems like the right thread for this:
Statesmonkey Sez: Lighten up! It's a game, for Lincoln's sake!
Also: Six years of casual play begins to look an awful lot like one year of hardcore play.
Beam Rifle
Hoverboard
Barbarian set
+20 Enhancement slots
+5 costume slots
Yeah. I dropped a bomb on day one but it was oh so worth it. I still glitch out at having 6 costume slots on a level 1 char. What was once a dream is now a reality
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Looks to me like the VIP Head Start will be enough to finance City of Heroes 2.
I bought:
Nothing.
I don't plan on buying points and the only reason why I resubscribed for 3 months is to get enough reward tokens to put me at the tier 7 bonus so that I get Inventions access for when I go back to premium.
That will pretty much give me the game I love and have played for 4 years for free from now on.
The incarnate system being locked behind VIP status doesn't bother me because raid grinding is something I cannot stand to do anyway.
I showed restraint, only bought Beam Rifle, The backpack and 1 set of salvage slots

I dropped $15 on points before the servers went up just in case there was a mix-up with granting those VIP points. I didn't want anything coming between me and my laser beams.
Got Beam Rifle, 1 Costume slot, Beast Run, and Feather Spin CCEmote, just as I had been planning.
Also made an impulse purchase of the Barbarian set.
Character index
wow.
This is where I begin to wonder if it's me.
I'm so grateful to have the option to use these accumulated points to get things like server transfers in lieu of paying cash.
I spent 480 points on the 6 character transfers. I think I have less than 1000 left now.
Spend actual money, above and beyond the monthly fee? Oh, no. Not me. I AM tempted to get the salvage increases, but I found that instead of 82, I can now hold 91. And that was just changed without me lifting a finger.
I can't say for certain, but I think I'm able to hold more recipes, too.
But, the idea of spending 15 dollars to get 1200 points to put towards something that the game is going to give me anyway, well, that's just not me.
I am really glad for a lot of you, though. I can almost feel the joy by reading your chat in the global channels. Kind of like a parent watching his kids Christmas morning. And the best part, I didn't pay for any of it, except my standard monthly amount.

Used my stocked points for Beam Weapon & Barbarian costume set. Not planning on buying any new slots since I figure I've gotten this far without so I can deal with what I've got. I'll pick up new power sets or costumes as they become available using either my stored allotments or else even bought points since I figure that's not different from buying boosters.
Used my 1200 to get Beam Rifle , auras , a couple of pieces of the Barbarian set , and Back Pack . Now to resub for another 3 months . Well played devs , well played
I really wish I could gift points. I wound up buying a little more than 20,000 across a couple accounts and have a few left over. There's people I'd love to hand them out to in some of my favourite channels.
I wasn't sure how I felt about the whole Freedom thing. I was worried, excited, nervous and overjoyed all at once when it was announced. Now that it's live I feel much better about the whole thing. Most of my concerns are gone and the ones that remain I think I can live with. It looks like i will be able to drop thirty or forty bucks a month on the store without feeling bad about it. Thanks devs!
I only bought some enhancement unslotters. I'm not really that interested in BR right now, nor SJ. Time Manipulation is enough to keep me occupied along with my current 50s.
I spent 50 bucks and got just about everything I wanted.
I did not buy the hover board...

So far i've spent umm..... 120points, for two costume pieces and an Aura. Most likely that's all I'll spend my VIP stipend on; Costume pieces for new characters, and maybe extra slots. Though if they actually add a powerset that interests me to the market I may save up points for it. (Weapon sets don't interest me, so no Beam Rifle and no Titan Weapons when it comes out, maybe I'll get Staff Melee... maybe.)
We've all been doing without all the other extras for many years, I'm not going to suddenly find myself unable to live without them. (While the extra storage slots were nice on Beta, they're mostly too rich for my blood.)
I like to think of I21 as a robust collection of those super boosters that they hadn't been releasing lately. There's the "Conan with a laser gun" booster, the "hoverboard with hidden storage compartments" booster, and the eagerly anticipated "so much inspiration you spontaneously sprout glowing armor and energy wings" booster. They really fleshed out these iconic comic book concepts better than I personally had expected so I had no trouble paying slightly more for them than boosters had been in the past.
I was upset that I had to spend $5.00 to cover the points deficiency I had to get all the stuff I wanted, because I don't think someone who pays to play an MMO should have to pay a penny extra for anything. Pre-Freedom I did buy some of the booster packs, but now that there is a definite distinction between account types I see no need in making us continue to pay for extras, especially costumes. Granted I know the points I get every month will take care of most of that stuff (or at least I hope), but yesterday it didn't and I was annoyed.
I bought Beam Rifle just because it was on sale, but I'm not ready to play it yet. I also bought the Origin Pack bundle (which is broken and CS has yet to respond to my second update on my ticket), the Barbarian bundle (which doesn't have any sort of gloves or bracers for female characters), the Rocket Board (which I totally love) and the backpack. I don't feel the need to buy extra storage when we have /ah now. If I get full, I either /ah or pull out my portable work bench and make some commons.
